A surprisingly nice and inexpensive campground just a couple of miles north of a border crossing. There is an on-site museum dedicated to Pancho Villa's cross-border raid on Columbus in 1916 and General Pershing's unsuccessful attempt to capture him,
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
This is my favorite state park in New Mexico… 2 miles away from the Palomas Mexico border. Currently the dump station/showers are not working but don’t let that stop you from visiting this beautiful state park.
Report Check-InPleasant state park with a great history. Be warned that Sani-dump, showers and restrooms are non-operational due to septic issues. Have been closed since December with no estimated time for being operational.
Report Check-Invery nice facilities. several sites with water and electric for 14$. dump station not working. lots of nosey boomers wandering about
Report Check-InState park campsite, with fairly large sites, all on gravel, with shaded picnic tables and firepits. At the time of this writing, the dump station was unavailable. Price is 15$ per night. A few of the sites are first come, first served, the rest need to be reserved.
I don't recommend spots 1 to 3 as they are right on the road.
Report Check-In$14 per night. nice segregated sites for an rv park. very helpful hosts!
Report Check-InAnother great New Mexico State Park with reservation, first come, and boondocking and tent sites.
Report Check-InWell cared for State Park. Across from site 52 are new bathrooms with hot showers. Very interesting free museum, if you have paid for camping. $14/night, check out at 2pm.

Report Check-InInexpensive and quiet at night, but the showers are terrible. We paid $10 plus a $4 fee to book a reservable site online because we couldn’t find the non-reservable ones and couldn’t figure out the pricing.
Report Check-InPricing is confusing. Boondocking is free if you don't park in an established site and you don't use the bathrooms. $8 per car lets you use the facilities and park in a non-hookup site. Showers were cold in the afternoon but hot in the morning. Borderlands Cafe across the street was a welcome respite from intense wind and cold weather. Good food and friendly.
Report Check-InPretty nice for a base price of only $10. I didn’t make a reservation, and on a Monday evening there were plenty of spots open. I paid and camped but the ranger did tell me I wasn’t really supposed to do that. But it worked out as the spot had not been reserved by anyone else. Would stay here again for sure tho.
Report Check-InNew Mexico State Park. Has about 15 non-reservation campsites and some boondocking sites. A $5 day pass will allow you to use showers, dump your tanks and fill up with potable water. Beautiful, peaceful park within 2 miles of a Border crossing into Mexico.
Report Check-InWe stumbled upon this great campground, Pancho Villa State Park in New Mexico. All sites are well maintained and appear to be raked and groomed daily. The bathrooms and showers are spectacularly clean and nice. Campers are spread out nicely. Each spot has a cabana, picnic table and BBQ. This is definitely on the top of our "must return" desert campgrounds. So much history here, Pancho Villa's Raid into Columbus, New Mexico. Great museum too.
Report Check-InWell maintained state park. $4.00 per night includes hookups and dump site. $4.00 per night with annual estate park pass. Quiet too.
Report Check-In$14 sites with power and water. Each has its own covered table. Easy border access.
Report Check-InNeat and clean campground ($10 Dry Camping, $14 Hookup) with showers, toilets, shaded picnic tables. Perfect place before or after bordercrossing to/from Mexico. Road noise is no problem.
Report Check-Inwonderful camp site, hot water and covered picnic tables. $10 camping or $14 with hookups
Report Check-InGood place to spend the night if you're planning to cross the border the next morning. The campsites were fine, but the other aspects of the place added a lot. There are historical sites scattered about, and a little hiking trail up a hill. The museum was really interesting, too.
Report Check-Inclose to the road which is busy all night.
the tent spaces are filled with wood chips so you will need sand pegs.
hot showers are free.
$10.00 per vehicle.
Paid $10 for an overnight with hook ups available. Nice bathrooms and hot showers. Really a great stop.
