Great spot. Wonderful view! Few people. No problem to stay for one night. No police. BUT be aware of the fog horn of the GGB every 30 Sec. Awful. One of the worst nights.
Report Check-InBeautiful view on thé bridge! 3-4 more camper van and truck. No one came To told us to get away.
Report Check-InTried to stay a 2nd night after being in SF all day. There were 5 or so campers and we all got asked to leave. Last night we were the only ones. May have been too many tonight. The cop was friendly and suggested other places to stay in our van for the night.
Report Check-InGreat spot for the night. Had a beautiful view of the bridge. It was extremely quiet. Saw a cop when we first got in at 6pm and we’re making dinner with our doors open. He waved as he drove by, no issues at all. No “no” signs. No parking signs at all really.
Report Check-InNius avons dormi face a la baie sur le parking mais au matin les ranher du parc sont venus nous faire quitter les lieux avec 4 autres véhicules nous demandant de ne pas revenir dormir ici d aller au camping. Que c est interdit.
Report Check-InTried to stay here one night with 2 other really nice camper vans. Park Ranger did a swoop around 10pm asking everyone to leave.
There are No Overnight signs all over as well. I wouldn't push your luck on this one. Hop over to Parking Lot #3 in Sausalito - over 15 RVs and vans with no issues.
Report Check-InGreat spot with the Golden Gate bridge view. We were the only car staying overnight. People came early in the morning to jog and walk their dogs.
Report Check-InNeeded an alternative since Vista Point is only accessible arriving from SF.
Were the only car in the lot. A coast guard was passing by when we arrived at 11pm and didn't bothered us. Fog horn every 15 seconds in the morning but really not loud so not a problem to sleep over.
Report Check-InParking near Coast guards office. There was 2/3 others RV. It was perfect and woke up with a beautiful view on Golden Gate. Only problem is the sound of the bridge to alert boats when there’s fog... be prepared because the sound is every 2 minutes and earplugs can’t do nothing about that. We even stayed park all day long to enjoy SF by bikes. No problem at all
Report Check-InHello
So lovely place to sleep with a nice view ....
But around midnight the police is arriving and knock loudy on the RV...
They was correct and they say we can't sleep here....
We have try..
So you can have more chance than us
Spent two nights here so far no problems... about 5 other vans/ rvs doing the same
Report Check-InVery good night here, quiet and no one bothered us. Car park started to fill up around 9am though so better to leave not too late to leave people space to park. We have a 37ft.
Report Check-Instayed here one night- no problems. but anyway.... correct way it's not allowed. On the entry, where the speed limit goes down from 25mph to 15mph, there is a sign, that camping is prohibited in the whole area. So I spend the next nights at the Presidio parking lot.
Report Check-InTwo rental RVs showed up and turned on their load generators.
Less than an hour later, a ranger asked us politely to leave...
Too bad, the view of the gate was beautiful
Quiet and safe spot in front of the museum. On the gravel parking lot as described. No problemo for uno noche.
Report Check-InA graveled parking lot close to waterfront and with view of Golden Gate Bridge. The museum was closed when we stayed here in our 24 ft camper van. There were at least 2 more cars with people sleeping in them. A patrol car was passing by multiple times. Nobody bothered us. This might be different in high season when museum is open.
I had an open WiFi signal but could not connect.
There is more parking at the waterfront directly but there are signs "No Overnight Parking".
Report Check-InFog horns started early in the morning. They didn't bother us too much.
