Description
Shady Campsites under trees on green Grass, electricity plugs all over, 2 hot showers and 2 flushing toilets, kitchen sink, braai facilities. Because of the trees and buildings, the campsite is a bit sheltered from the wind.
Campsite belongs to the Shepherds Lodge. Nice owners. Because of the rooms the rent out, they also provide a restaurant. The place was a military camp in the old days and transformed into a nice green oasis.

Report Check-Insorry but this is not anymore a green oasis... looks more like a rotten military camp. Dirty and unpleasant... but sadly not a lot of other options. There are very nice picnic spots along the river ... but you are not allowed to sleep there (local told that)
150pppn is to much and you have to pay extra for the pool
there is lots lot's of room for improvement. ( If they want to build up Oranejemund (2030)
Namibia campsites seem to be more expensive than the W Cape where I come from. At N$300-00 for the 2 of us it is for Namibia standards very good value for money, clean ablutions, lawn, shade, free firewood, 220V and away from the sea (mist). I can recommend them.
Report Check-InNice campsite in a beatiful scenary, an oasis in the middle of the dunes. Maintenance is poor and not very clean. Basic toilet. 150 ND pp. but you have to pay for the pool. Expensive for what they offer.
Report Check-InA lovely green oasis in the midst of dunes. We were alone in the campsite. Lots of FREE firewood. Ablutions basic, but clean. We saw an oryx on the lawn of campsite. Apparently there are jackals and aardwolf coming here during the night. Friendly owners.
Report Check-InQuirky and the best paid option. Away from the busy main road in its own little quiet sand valley, it’s an oasis of trees and grass. Swimming pool with fun slide. Facilities basic but do the job.
During Carona it was 117pppn.
Pretty much as said previously, 150pppn for campsites. We were by ourselves so it was pretty nice.

Report Check-InSet in a depression and therefore pretty wind-protected, a green oasis amidst sandy hills. The campground is at the back of wooden bungalows that are more or less in good condition. Grassy plots, slightly reclining. Could be a gem if more lovingly made and not surrounded by building material left overs and some shabby bungalows. Certainly very okay for a stop over, ablutions are clean and fine too. Not a love affair though :-) 200 for two. If you have a camper/motorhome, try rather to stay wild at the beach facilities where the Oranje River meets the sea. See our entry there.
