Quiet and safe place according to friends who live nearby. Seems to be overflow parking for apartment residents and for firemen. trails on the bay out your back door. no amenities, but cell signal is great.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Cops are saying locals are complaining & no longer want over night guests.
Report Check-InPerfect spot if you need no amenities. Large dirt lot directly behind the fire station. Bridge was narrow and not at all lit at night but my van made it no problem; wouldn’t recommend a larger RV try especially at night. A few other vans comfortably spaced apart, very quiet. Excellent spot if you don’t need anything but peace and quiet in a safe spot.
Report Check-InWe arrived at the place in the evening at sunset. Everything seemed perfect, large gravel parking lot with a view of fields, quiet and secluded. But then at 9 pm the theater started. a man, very angry, started shouting in front of our car. He recognized our German license plate, spoke a few words of German and then started shouting for us to leave immediately. He seemed totally crazy, under the influence of Alkohol or drugs so we did Not want to go out to him. He pulled out his cell phone and called someone, then got even angrier, shouted that he would break our window if we didn't leave and then threw stones at us, but they didn't hit us. We waited, thinking that someone he had called would come (maybe Police?)
But no one came. also the rain started and the guy disappeared. But at 12:00 pm he came back. again he screamed at us and he ran around our Car screaming but then disappeared after a few minutes.
When he came back a third time at 2 am, he hit something with a Metal Pipe (or that is how it sounded like) we started the car and drove away.
We don't know whether the hatred was just against Germans or against overlanders in general, but we wouldn't recommend the place, as beautiful as it otherwise is.
Stayed in the dirt lot as described. Quiet and safe overnight for our first test run in our new Travato. Also a lovely place to walk the dog.
Report Check-InBeautiful!!! No noise, nice neighborhood!! No services, but highly recommended! Bridge coming in could be sketchy for bigger RVs though.
Report Check-InGot here at sunset in my 24’ Skoolie and stayed the following day, no issues. The parking lot is for the bay trail, but seems to be used as overflow for the private entrance neighborhood nearby. Quiet and dark. Dogs allowed on bay trail leashed, but there is a dog park within walking distance off the trail.
Report Check-InTotally quiet and while it’s a bumpy dirt lot, it’s possible to find a level spot. Only accessible by driving over a small iron bridge, no weight rating, see picture. Would not recommend to hang out here during the day, as it’s in sight of the apartments. Shore dogs park is nearby with parking and access to the trail.
Report Check-InLocals are complaining & calling cops on people staying overnight or those who just park there & the vehicle never leaves. Cops towed a van that a woman complained about. They told me to be careful since if they get complaints they can toe or start putting up no overnight signs
Report Check-InThis spot is no longer good due to locals complaining about vagrants staying here. I witnessed a van get towed & talked to the cop. He told me people are complaining because of people parking here & trashing the place plus taking up parking spots meant for the locals. If cops are called they will come out & if they are asked to tow they will...
Report Check-InGood place for one night. The police said us that it's ok for one night.
Report Check-InNice spot. lots of space and not crowded at all. we spent one night in our van and had no problems.
