Description

Note that for most Overlanders, this is "an established campground" on the parking lot of a balneario. Vehicles MUST stay on the parking lot.

Entrance fee to enjoy the springs (100pp), additional fee for camping (100pp). Very nice bathrooms and showers. Has a restaurant and a shop to buy supplies. Not very hot water but still nice to get into either when it's really hot out or really cold (for mexico).

Turn off (from the toll road) is at km149, no signs, look for the dirt road on the right (going north) close to a radio antenna (or keep a close eye on your GPS).

This is a nice natural eco park to visit while in Mexico. There are tones of small natural pools with crystal clear water. The water is cool, refreshing since it is very hot here. It was 39C during the day and it didn't cool off much during the night. Camping with a rig is in the parking lot, there is ample space for any vehicle. if your tent camping you can camp inside the grounds. All campers have pool access till late at night and early in the morning (when the park is closed). We paid 420P for 2 people.

it was a beautiful spot with a lot of pools with flowing water mainly to camp. You can only park in the parking lot with no electricity, dumping, city water or wifi, but inside you can use the toilets, warm shower and pools. It was Semana Santa full of people nevertheless we enjoyed because the place is huge.
At the parking lot they try to reserve an space for big rigs like ours 21 ft / 6 m.

We arrived at this spot right as the sun was going down and it was getting dark. The parking lot is small and we have a 40ft skoolie. The rest of the ground is severely washed out, bumpy and uneven. And there’s no hookups. They charge 220 pesos for adults and 200 pesos for kids. We have 2 adults and 2 kids and they only charged 800 pesos total (one night)
BUT I WOULDNT SKIP THIS SPOT. And here’s why.
It was so private. No one else was there. There are multiple swimming holes with waterfalls (and one with a cave)
A little cold to swim at night (in December) but perfect when the sun is up.
It is immersed in nature. And my favorite spot so far.
So, if you’re okay with being a little uncomfortable for a night or two, the experience is worth it.

Pretty sweet! Don’t expect a secret tranquil natural oasis, it was pretty busy (during Semana Santa), but people were respectful and surprisingly quiet. Lots of flowing pools to explore and the river is pretty too. There were lots of campers, they let tent campers camp down by the pools, which would be an awesome spot. Not sure if that’s just because it was Semana Santa or not. The car parking lot was nice and quiet and shady under big mango trees. Toilets and showers were clean and stay open 24 hours. The place closes to non-campers at 6pm and the gates close at 10pm. Almost no mosquitos (which we realized is because they smoke the place with a pesticide in the morning). Good place to break up the drive from the coast to the city! 200 per person for camping and entry (posted on the sign).

This place is amazing!!! You camp in the parking lot which is fine cause you walk down to beautiful natural waterfalls and swimming pools. You have to walk around and find private pools to yourself. It’s worth checking out.

I don’t think the people above took alll the trails to the natural pools. There are man made pools that the locals use but walk around.
You will find your own.

So fun we stayed two nights.

We had our dogs they loved it ..

Tenting only in the park: there's no camping in or with vehicles close to the pools (and bathrooms), vehicles have to stay on the parking lot. (Edited description, above.)

Balneario looks good. Charge is MXN 100 per person per day and MXN 100 per person per night for camping, even in the parking lot. Special rates for following days and packages with breakfast, firewood and more available. See website.

We did not stay but camped rough nearby.

Still a nice place to split your journey. We had to park on the upper parking, not sure if you are still allowed to drive down. The parking is not so great but it’s quiet after closure and safe and the domain is really nice with lovely pools and beautiful birds. It was 200 pesos pp, entrance fee + camping. Perfect toilets and showers.

Nice spot to spend an evening after being on the coast fir a week. Water was swell and 160pp got us entry and camping. Bring your own food for a better experience

Stopped here for a night. After being on the coast for several days the water was fantastic. Stayed on a Saturday, wasn’t too busy, site says they’re limited to25% capacity but no one was counting. 160pp got us entry and camping. Pro tip. Get pollo on the way in when you get off the highway, much cheaper and better.

Quiet place near Tequesquitengo. I think I paid around 150mxn for a night of camping.
Showers and toilets availabe, shower only with cold water.
There is a small restaurant and a pool there.

Had a great experience here. Really quiet at night. We took a swim in the “hot” springs, 80 pesos per person. The showers had very little pressure and were cold but a shower none the less.

When you arrive there is a parking lot up top and one down below. This is where we originally parked. The security guard told us we couldn’t park there, then said we could but at our own risk and said it was not safe. He said there is a locked area down below near the hot springs we could park in for 220 pesos but because we paid entrance for the hot spring it would only be 140 pesos. We decided it was worth it. Once down there he refused to take our money and insured he would keep us safe, “I have a gun and everything”! He was very nice and made rounds with a flashlight every hour or so, he took his job very serious. In the morning we tried to tip him and he refused.

Overall a nice experience, super quite at night.
