Wonderful spot! Clean and spacious with lots of grassy area for dog walks. Wish the restrooms had been open but otherwise great.

All of the comments are pretty spot on. We just want to add that a fella named Ringo stopped by. He obviously has a heart for his little town off Rt66. Turns out that they are constructing the world’s largest FlipFlop. Even further, the locals want to put “San Hawn” back on the Rt66 map. So, in an effort to help out my new friend Ringo, please stop at this spot. It’s safe and quiet, and the locals are friendly. And get you a pic of you and yours in front of the (nearly completed) World’s Largest FlipFlop!

This is a wonderful place to stop for the night. This park is tidy, with picnic tables, shelters, and barbecues. The sites are level. At this time of year, the toilets are closed. What a great free stopover! Thanks San Jon!

good place to stop for the night. couple of minutes from interstate and walking distance to well stocked convenience store.

There was plenty of room. It's flat and open. There are tennis courts and a large playground, perfect for families. There was no activity at all when I got there, only 4 RVs overnight. It was quiet. There was a port-a-potty, but I didn't use it so don't know the condition.

This town has a whole lot of closed and abandoned buildings, but there are enough residents to make it seem safe. It's nice that they have provided this park for travelers for free. I'm grateful for that.

A lot of spaces with a pit toilet and picnic tables. There are lights in the park, felt safe to sleep in here.

Nice stop for the night. Lit, picnic tables and bathrooms in the summer.

Great little park not too far from the highway. Sign clearly says free overnight parking. Pretty quiet and a handful of trees provided privacy, there are picnic shelters, BBQ grills, flush toilets and sinks. Short walk from Allsups for gas and food. It rained overnight and lots of areas flooded, but overall a nice place to stay.

Report Check-In

spend the night there. bathrooms are open and pretty clean. the tree is toilet paper. sink pretty dirty.
it is close to i4I, VERY easy to find and really nice place. it was very rainly and windy with flood warming and was raining heavily througout the night. i was afraid it will be too muddy to drive out but it was totally fine
would come again, hopefully to enjoy the facilities in the park.
a woman traveling alone in a mini-campervan, felt very safe.

Odd place, small park with baseball field behind and playground to the side. 2 others were there this night. Felt safe and bathroom was open.

Report Check-In

Very close to Hwy 40 but not too noisy. This is a city park , free overnight parking is allowed, the environment is clean, there are tables and chairs, there are restroom, we parked here overnight, the camp has six RVs and two suvs

Great spot for an overnight just off I 40. If you stay here, try and buy some gas or something at the little gas station. There’s really nothing else here and the town is dying. I tried to go eat at the supposed Indian restaurant on the north side of I 40, but they didn’t have food, and even if they did I would not have eaten there because the store was filthy and the fifth wheel with swastikas painted on it outside was a bit off-putting from the outset. The Allsups market was bright and clean with pleasant folks.

Great little area to stop for the night. Plus there 2 truck stops so if this is full you could park at truck stops. Great cell service We have T-Mobile and Verizon both full bars. Parking area is level.

We really loved this little park. It was dry-camping, but had a good central bathroom, and picnic tables for each of its sites. Thank you San Jon City for providing this free campground!

Report Check-In

Great free place to stop overnight. Easy to get to, not very crowded and surprisingly quiet. No camping - just overnight.

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet little park to spend the night passing through, definitely beats a rest area. I’m the only rig here.

Report Check-In

Nice little park. Quiet and free to stay. not far off the interstate but can't really hear the traffic from there. Definitely a nice stop.

Report Check-In

Great place to spend a night! Well lit city park with restrooms and picnic tables. We were only ones there and felt safe. Restrooms were closed for winter but city provided a very clean porta potty. The park is nothing special but it’s right off 40 and it’s 10x better than a rest stop. Also, the gas station up the street has fantastic Indian food.

Quiet little park in a quiet little town. We parked our 40' skoolie here for one night and shared it with one other person car camping. Super chill spot right off of I-40, two minute walk to a convenience store and a two minute drive to a killer Indian restaurant just on the north side of I-40. No fuss, no stress.

Report Check-In

As expected based on others’ reviews! Bathrooms are closed for winter but there’s a well-maintained porta-john.

Small local baseball or sport park with picnic tables and bathrooms. Running water, flushing toilets and sink and a little free library. LTE Verizon.

Report Check-In

A convenient place for an overnight stop. 4 bars LTE with AT&T.

As of today the rest rooms are still open. There's a gas station in walking distance if they are closed. There is nothing in this town except 2 gas stations so if you need supplies get them before getting here. Restrooms were clean but bring your own soap.

Report Check-In

Very nice for a free overnight. A couple other rigs trickled in before dark. Some come and go car stops. Great spot for our toddler and dog. Highly recommended. No water or toilets when we came in mid-April. Sign says closed for winter. We did find a functioning electric outlet on the community center wall that is right by the playground. We used it for our coffee pot.

Report Check-In

Nice park, all free with restroom and BBQ. Very quiet at night. Plenty of ground to play baseball and other with the kids. Wear shoes and watch for cactus spike that tend to be every where on the lawn.
