A beautiful State Park at the Pecos River, some reservation-only sites. Some first come first serve sites. Several hiking trails in area.
Day use parking $5
Camping - Standard site $10 (shared water faucet between sites)
Camping - Electric $14
Mostly pit toilets around the park. But in the center of the park there is a bathroom with flush toilets and 1 warm shower (Free). Generators permitted until 10 pm. Some sites have a covered area, while others do not. All seem to have a picnic table and fire pit.
Poor to non-existent phone/cell service. However there is wifi at the Visitor Center in the park.

Lovely place! We arrived in the late afternoon without reservation and there were still nice private spots available.
Report Check-InWonderful State Park. We arrived Easter Sunday and the place was PACKED. The Ranger apologized for how busy it was and assured us that it would get nice and quiet once all the families who were celebrating Easter Sunday left the day use areas. He was right. Once they all left the that evening and the next few days were super quiet and calm here.
We reserved our spot online. It was $10/night for basic site with water (no power) However there was a $8 service fee when reservations are made online. It appears to us that the reserved spots are all near the entrance or the lower part. The first come first serve was on the upper loop.
There is a visitor centre that has wifi. Cell service is hit or miss with this step or that step, to almost non existent. There are pit toilets scattered around. And one main bathroom with flush toilets and 1 shower centrally located.
Report Check-InWonderful state park. $10 for us. Site on the Pecos River. Clean bathrooms and showers. Great hikes. Wonderful host who opened museum/ Vistor center. Would stay again
Report Check-InFirst off, I would say we had an abnormal experience here. Upon showing up, we pulled into our site to find the driveway littered with broken glass and sharp metal fragments and screws.looking around, we saw the trees and signs had been burned. Upon talking to the ranger many hours after arriving because no one was around when we got there, he told us that a trailer had exploded in this spot a few weeks earlier and we were the first ones to stay since then. It had not been cleaned up, and no one gave us notice at all. It is in a beautiful canyon, and we saw people catching trout. But likely a place I won’t be back to unfortunately.
Report Check-InBeautiful state park as described, staying at site 36C with a great overlook. Nice and clean, hardly anyone here at the upper camps.
Report Check-InBeautiful little spot! It’s not super easy to get and if you’re pushing to find it after a long drive as the sun is setting it’s an especially windy road there! The camp sites are adorable and have shelter over the picnic tables. There’s a large group campsite that sits right on the Pecos River. The showers are hot! There’s a dump station and sites w/electric hookups ($14).
