Description

Cost of camping is based on blue dollar exchange rate if you don't have cash or USD to pay. Price is $15USD per night for a couple.

Hans, a very nice host, allows two overlanders to camp in the beautiful garden of his posada in the midst of vineyards and an olive plantation. WiFi, very nice WC and shower with hot water, access to the pool and an indoor lobby to hang out in. Also available for a fee: bikes, breakfast and dinner, wine for sale, 4x4 mountain tours, etc.

You can also stay in one of the lovely rooms in the Adobe country house.

Highly recommended!

No ground tents.

Nice place. Stayed 4 nights and paid $17 for two in a Land Cruiser. We rented bikes ($7) and rode to a couple of wineries. Flat east roads with not much traffic. Clean hot shower and good food in the restaurant.

Nice. Would stay again…..

Report Check-In

We loved staying at this place ! Now it’s 17 US dollar per night. You have access to a very Nice garden with pool and hamac. You can also use shower, hot water and good pressure. There is also a restaurant, lomo was very tasteful. Hans is welcoming.
You can also visit some arpund, like Bodega Tempus Alba accessible by foot, very good wine dégustation at this place, we recommand !

Report Check-In

Hele aardige mensen hier.

Report Check-In

The place is a combination of a winery (Malbec), olive plantation and other crop, hotel with restaurant/pool nice surroundings and also some spots for campers - mainly camper vans. The owners are very friendly and helpful. You can enjoy also a wine tasting of the wine of the house.

Report Check-In

We were very happy to find this place! We were looking for a nice spot during Christmas but most of the Argentinian Campgrounds are really run down and also full with Party people during holidays. So we came to Posada Carvieres and for us it was one of the best places we have been to on our long travel between Alaska and Chile. Everything here is just perfect! The bathroom with the hot shower, the lounge, the pool, the WiFi, the spot for Overlanders close to the vineyard. Everything is really high quality furnished, a real treat and rarity on the way through Central and South America! Hans and his team are so nice and friendly and he sells great wine as well. We stayed a few days longer as we had planned. We paid 15 US$ per night for 2 of us and our truck, but as the situation in Argentina changes daily this can not be a fixed rate for the future of course. Highly recommended when you are surching for a very special, quiet, wonderful spot near Mendoza!

Report Check-In

Checking in because no one has mentioned the pool in a while! Very nice place, really enjoyed it. Good to treat yourself every once in a while.

Report Check-In

we stayed at Hans place with our motorhome, 15 USD per night. we wouldn't fit under the carport but could use a tree right before the vinyard to find some shade. there is only one shower and toilet for the overlanders but it wasn't busy when we arrived. he offers great dinner but also a little kitchenette. the pool is small but very useful on a hot day. we could also have our laundry done (4500 ARS). he offers bike rental (4500 ARS) Mendoza City is about half an hour drive (by taxi around 8.000 peso)
Well recommended! very tasty Malbec wine and very nice people!

Report Check-In

We asked Hans if we could only take a shower and buy some wine, which was absolutely possible. Then he advised us on the mountain route that we could take to change from Route 40.
The day you open the bottle, don’t drink more than two glasses and keep the rest of the bottle for the next day. It’s worth it.
Nice guy.

Report Check-In

Hans is a super nice host. He allows 2 overlanders at a time to camp in his beautiful winery. It's not an official camping, you can also rent a room. Price for the car is 7.000 per night. You have access to hot showers with excellent water pressure 😉, electricity, WiFi etc. You can also book breakfast or dinner, really delicious and at a fair price. And rent bikes to visit other wineries, go to the city etc. We really recommend this peaceful place!

Report Check-In

It's a nice place with a good shower and it was very quiet in the off season. Super friendly people. We only stayed one night because the price is quite steep. It's whatever the equivalent of $15usd is in pesos, in our case 7000 and you are 'just' on the parking lot.

btw, it's pet friendly, but not tent friendly.

Report Check-In

We had technical problems with our RV (starter). Hans immediately contacted a Garage (GM MECANICA ) for repair and made an appointment right away, although he was very busy, he took the time to accompany us to the garage for repair. This kind of help is unique. In addition, he is not only an excellent host but also a first-class winemaker. We are red wine connoisseurs and can judge that his Malbec wines (….) reach the range of the upper Bordeaux wines. The only regrettable thing is that we didn't have much space in our RV.
Hans is highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Spent here 2 nights, really nice place if you want to stay right in the wine fields to wander around and do nice photos in evening! Price now is 5000. We do recommend to take the breakfast for 1200 pesos per person, simple but nice!

Report Check-In

We stayed for one night. Beautiful place in spectacular surroundings. For one night we paid 4'000 ARS (two persons in a van) quite expensive. But you can use the modern and clean anementies. We also eat dinner, it was ok.

Report Check-In

Very nice place, absolutely loved our stay at this peaceful place close to many wineries! 4000 pesos per night, 1200 pesos for a laundry currently. Access to Shower, Toilet, Potable Water, a power outlet and a kitchen sink. Hans is extremely nice and helpful!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Perfect spot to explore some of the wineries nearby.
Beautiful and quiet spot, spotless amenities, very friendly owner who went out if his way to help us

Report Check-In

Perfect place to be for visiting some Bodegas ! Hans is really a nice person ! Good WiFi, Goode shower, good food and good wine ! We spend 3 nights there

Report Check-In

really nice place. we arrived really late when it was already dark, but Hans was very welcoming. we could even still join dinner that evening (must say that the vegetarian options wasn't very good, but this could also be due to the fact that we only arrived 1 hour before dinner).
He had very good advice on which bodegas to visit and made us feel welcome. can really recommend this place!

Report Check-In

Wow!! What a beautiful place! Lovely smell of wine in the air. Facilities are excellent, shower and bathroom extremely clean, outdoor potable water from the taps/hose outside the door next to the kitchen. We didn't eat dinner or breakfast here so we can't comment but I'm sure they would be excellent.
Hans was a tremendous host and spoke perfect English
3000 for two of us and our campervan. There is a parking area under canopies on the left as you drive in, but we were too big to fit under them. Electricity plugs can fit any plug type as they are universal.
Okay 3g Movistar and bad 3g Claro. However if you park on the side closest to the main building you can access one of the WiFi points from your van. The range is limited in the overlanders area however, but plentiful in the main building.
Highly recommended, thank you Hans!!

Report Check-In

Highly recommended to stay at this amazing place! Hans is a great host and you can explore many bodegas from here. It is a very peaceful, calm and beautiful place. Hans even helped us with finding a mechanic for our car problems and is super helpful. We are grateful that we came here!

Report Check-In

We confirm what has been said earlier ! Very peaceful place , good and hot swimming pool, nice breakfast and beautiful view over the vineyard. Fully recommended.
Breakfast is at 7USD , and the iOverlander stay at 17USD

Report Check-In

Perfect stay - clean bathroom and a really nice area to stay for a couple of days.
Totally recommend and you can use the main area and the pool.
The food at the restaurant is really good and the price is fair.

Report Check-In

the place is nice and the owner friendly.
possible to rent bike for 550 ARS
Price for night is 17 USD for a car. it's kind expensive but the place is great and there is a swimming pool.

Report Check-In

Stayed at Hans at my birthday, great to be able just to speak dutch (Vlaams). Hans created a lovely spot. Price is 17 USD to stay the night in your camper. He also has some rooms avaible.
And last but not least he has some bikes to rent to do the wine tour

Report Check-In

Small lovely vineyard with 7 rooms, restaurant, communal area and nice garden with swimming pool.
Overlander stay on a separate parking lot with electricity (only from sunset to sunrise). Wifi just reaches the parking. Hot (!!) shower and toilet (flush / tp) available in the main building. Overlanders are allowed to use lobby with seating area, sink to wash dishes (no cooking facilities) and the garden with the pool which makes you feel like staying in the hotel.

The friendly owner Hans has good knowledge of the area, can also help finding mechanics and likes to receive overlander. Depending on the occupancy of the hotel he is also willing to receive more than 2 cars at the same time.

Report Check-In

We did not stay here but wanted to be clear that this place definately does not accept pets.

Report Check-In

Hans' little paradise. We loved the spot! Not cheap (still 17 us), but definitely worth the money. Sorrounded by vineyards, huge garden/pool area and lots of places to sit/chill inside and outside. Hans is very nice and helped us to find a good mechanic. He brought us to a place nearby to have lunch - the best we had on our whole panam trip. All you can eat and drink, maybe about 10 courses (antipasti, salat, ham, cheese, meat and dessert) for 900 pesos. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

As already noted a great place. We had 4 overlanders staying so able to cope with more than previously mentioned 2.

Report Check-In

THE PERFECT PLACE IN MENDOZA. Hans is probably the nicest host we met so far. The amenities are very nice. Beautiful garden with pool, delicious dinner. And Hans helped us to a skilled, good value Mechanic Joge - he also translates for you if in need ;)

The 17 USD are above average, but this place is worth every dime of it.

Report Check-In

Perfect spot for resting for some days with excellent facilities, good wine and food and nice owner & staff. The location is very convenient for visiting the vineyards and bodegas in the Maipu region. You can sleep in your camper while you can use the bathroom and living room which are the best for our last 2000 km. Number of camper is limited. Price for camper is 17USD for the night. For booking or inquiries contact Hans +5492616074303 (whatsapp)
Highly recommended! Peter& Teresa

Report Check-In

prices as of may 2019:
camping: $17 per night (set in USD)
renting bikes: 300 per bike/day ($7)
laundry (ca 5kg): 300 per load($7)

this prices are more or less coupled to the dollar, so expect increases with the current inflation rate...
Out of season pool not available....

Report Check-In

Here, as an overlander, you get very comfortable common areas to hang out, which is invaluable when the weather “goes south” as it did for a day while we were there. On cooler days, the fire place is lit; it’s cozy in there. The shower is exceptional!
We walked into Maipu several times and took back the bus 820/824. Some wine/olive oil tasting is within walking distance also, or rent a bike from Hans.

Report Check-In

super accueil de Cynthia et Hans. bel endroit au bout d'un chemin bien praticable. espaces multiples avec ts les services possibles , c parfait. assez loin de la route pour le bruit , au milieu des vignes.

Report Check-In

Nice place to relax after weeks of offroad traveling. Nice and friendly owner. We disagree with the negative review. Every place in Argentina has to do with inflation so prices go up. Last week 1 euro was 43.15 pesos now i sah 1 euro is 45.35 pesos. The same happens with food. I think for what you get the price is oke. At least we are happy to stay here in a quiet serounding.

Report Check-In

Good camping on the Posada. Hans is very helpful and the facilities are great. Price 17 us$ per night. Bus 820/824 from YPF station to center.

Report Check-In

See other descriptions.

Very nice and klean. Friendly staf/owner.
He can afvice you in all kinds of trips and bodega’s.
Best bathroom ever.
Good price/quality.
600 pesos (2pax + travelcar)

Report Check-In

If 600 is too much go elsewhere! The facilities are perfect. We stayed in the municipal site at Malargue for 130 this year and last year it was 70, so at the same rate of inflation Caviers would be 650! At the end of the day most of us are funding travel in US$. €, or £ and generally costs are the same or a bit less than last year.

Report Check-In

As per other descriptions this is a beautiful spot with great facilities and a welcoming, relaxed and super friendly host. Well worth the 600 peso per night over land charge.

Report Check-In

Absolutely loved staying here! Hans is super friendly and welcoming. We had a brilliant few days exploring the wineries nearby with lots of helpful tips and recommendations from him. Great facilities and such a bonus to have a pool in a beautiful garden. Definitely a place to relax and enjoy! 600ARP per vehicle.

Report Check-In

Pretty much our only option during this season as other campgrounds not open yet. You park in the overflow parking lot, which is some distance from the main lodge. The wifi didn't really reach; you can get it in the lounge, but it's still pretty darn slow. Beautiful grounds and pool of course, and Hans is very nice. Just a bit expensive for the current setup, but probably your best option now.

Report Check-In

Hans has a little blurb for overlanders to read before checking in to confirm his regulations, including price of 600 per night. Very nice man who runs a nice little oasis on edge of a big city. Kitchen is for washing up only; no cooking facilities. Wifi can reach camping area but it's a weak signal that is inconsistent; best to go up to lounge area and even then not fast. 4G cell reception most of the time. Bikes for rent for 250 pesos but you can use for one than one day. Power is available at sites at night only.

Report Check-In

Loved staying here. Grounds are beautiful, staff super nice, pool a treat in that scorching sun, and well that awesome shower with hot hot water and great water pressure in a super modern bathroom. Yes, $600 pesos per vehicle may seem a bit high after staying in the municipal camping near the little towns....but you sink into relaxation here, and have access to the lodge and grounds, and besides sleeping in your own bed instead of theirs, you fell like you are a hotel guest. You can't beat the view of the vineyards out the camper door, or the flower beds on the other side. Great laundry service too.

Report Check-In

I recently logged in on this blog to read the comments after one extreme comment of an overlander was posted on tripadvisor claiming my dishonest behaviour. My main business is the lodge of 7 rooms (my business on tripadvisor is the lodge, not the overlander). I received numerous overlanders since the start and it has been great fun. I see a few comments on iOverlander about the price of camping, and iOverlander is the correct place to quote for the overlanders when not staying in the lodge.
We started to receive overlanders in december 2017 when the dollar was about 17,50 pesos, now in october it sometimes reached over 40 pesos for the dolar. As a consequence I adapt the prices as cost of living is also going up in pesos. So when you compare at 19 march 350 pesos for the overlanding was 17,5 USD for the overlanders and on 5 october with a dolar at 38 pesos the price was 13,15 usd (at a rate of 500 to stay) or 15,78 usd (at 600 pesos to stay), Actually means that the last overlanders payed less in usd then the ones before because the price adaptations in pesos did not follow the steep devaluation of the peso.
In this particular situation the blackboard with information for the overlanders was there and already mentioned 600 pesos. Somebody of the staff might have mentioned 500 in stead of 600 (I don´t know), meaning a difference of 2,5 usd.....
So let's say that the price will be somwhere between 13 and 17 usd. If you read the lonely planet all prices in pesos are outdated. Prices in dolars will be mostely stable. Price also rizes if more services are offered.
I hope this explains everything and ofcourse my best regards to everybody.

For some reason Hans the owner decided to charge us 100 pesos more per day than The advertised price. He cited some lame excuse having to do with inflation that happened in between the time we arrived and the time we checked out, 3 days. We don’t condone dishonesty. Avoid this place.

Report Check-In

see all comments made before. all true. 500 peso p.p. worth all of it! Don't hesitate to spoil yourselves a night or two!

Report Check-In

Beautiful place, but at $500 for two (not negotiable) we didn’t stay.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place - probably the nicest we've stayed at for 2 years, but with the rampant inflation it doesn't come cheap. Now 500$ per night for 2 in a van.

Report Check-In

Very lovely place surrounded by olivetrees and winefields! The owner Hans is very sympathic. The shower is really good and you can chill inside by the fire.. really recommended this place!!

Report Check-In

We were there for a fantastic asado (450p/p) and then for the night (350 for 2 and the van).
The asado was absolutely worth it, the camping is a bit expensive for the fact that you park on the parking lot.
The place is beautiful though, and close to other wineries you can visit with a rented bike (200p/p).

Report Check-In

It is our second stay as a overlander here and both times we stayed longer than we planned... Very quiet and beautiful place. Probably the best choice in Mendoza.

Report Check-In

Wonderful upscale overland spot. Super nice posada, completely booked when we arrived here on a Monday night. We were the first family to come here and met a Norwegian overlander from Chile with his Defender here. Paid 350 for our van and a family of four.

Hans is a land Rover fan and owner from what we understand. He knows the region well and can recommend off-road routes of you are into it. Laundry service also available. Still only two vehicles allowed. Very nice!

Report Check-In

very nice place, owner super friendly, clean bathroom with hot shower and super good food and wine at the restaurant, I recommend this place, room for only 2 ioverlanders, so you should contact Hans before getting there.

Report Check-In

Wonderful little wine farm campsite, very private, only 2 campsites for overlanders but access to boutique hotel facilities (only 6 rooms), very clean and new, pool, showers, toilet, and wifi. Great owner, friendly and helpful. Speaks english originally from Belgium. 250 pesos night; we stayed 2 nights while using this as base to visit Mendoza. Better than every other campground we have been in - exclusive 5 stars!

Report Check-In

If you visit Mendoza go to this place! The posada is not a camping but far more better than that. It is a beautiful B&B where Hans , the owner, welcomes also overlanders. You can stay with your car in the middle of his beautiful vineyard. You are allowed to use all the modern and well mantained clean facilities including the nice pool which he offers also to his B&B clients. It is also possible to dinner. We intended to stay one night here but it was so nice that we were three nights there. Last but not least noticed that Hans his hospitality is great.
