Report Check-In

From Senegal to Guinea.
Last stop before finally entering officially into Guinea. This is where officers took my picture and fingerprints. All were pretty friendly. I also met with a higher ranking officer who told me I needed to go to Conakry to get my passport stamped (they only stamped the hard copy).
According to some comments below this isn't necessary, but since I'll be going to Conakry I'll probably do it just to be on the safe side.

Guinea to Senegal. In the first office the passport was scanned, a photo was taken and fingerprints were taken. Then he took us to another office where the police officer carefully checked our passports. He found no objection. We went to Conakry specifically to get the visa stuck in our passport because we read about the problems here. Then we went to another office where a police officer filled out the CdP and took it with us. he came right back and gave us back the stamped CdP. It all took 10 minutes. We were there at 11.30am. The road from Koundara to the Real Border is paved and good.

All proccess proccess absolut mess situation!! more than one and a half hour to get the passavan, becouse coming from Bissau in the border they dont do it.

Here they obligate to stop in the police station before adouane and with not reason they reduce our visa of one month, to 5 days!! after this they brought us to do dome crazy scan machine for car big garage before go to theadouane offfice for passavan, after this with the paper of the accepted scan , The guy bring us to the adouane office to say us the boss of that adouane that we dont need passavan on this country. So everything really stupid, we lose 50km of road from the border to do this passavan, for that reasonwe cross the corrupt police station where they reduce to 5 days our 1 month visa (we paid 80€ each). this all fucking situation not coordinate within them, to say finally that it is not neccesary the passavan!! we dont know that believe....

Report Check-In

They didn’t issue a passavant because it’s not necessary having the tourist visa.

Even talked to the big boss Sidiki.

We had to wait more than an hour to get our Carnet stamped. The officer acting as the secretary is very friendly. But his boss is the one who has to stamp and sign it. He sits in a well conditioned office and watches TV. But he only welcomes his secretary in when he is free. So for us he let us wait for one hour…

Stamped my carnet. Took 5 minutes - no fees friendly officers……

*** following this there is a police checkpoint - stop and give passport/visa details they take fingerprints to register you.

From Bissau to Conakry
As the others said, the officer tried to charge us 100,000. After negotiating he gave it to us for free.
They tried everything to make you believe it is not free but it is :) Very friendly though
He also told us that because we are tourists we didn’t need a passavant but no idea if it’s true or not. We didn’t want to have problems on the way so we asked him to do it for us :)

ABOUT EVISA. Yes they told us about an amende because we did not have the biometric visa. BUT after disagreement and heated discussion they ended up getting information from their superiors and indeed the tourists didn’t need to go to Conakry to have a passport stamped, this is the case for multiple entry visas only!Corruption or incompetence? I would say incompetence. But now the border knows that the evisa is enough, we know it and you know it too. Don't drop anything.

Report Check-In

Caution ! After thé customs we had to pass a police control they took photos and they said we have to go to Conakry to have the visa on the passeport (we have evisa). We don’t know if it’s true?

Report Check-In

We received our passavant here, coming from Guinea Bissau. Officer tried to charge us 100,000. We said that the Guinea embassy staff had told us it would be free. They then gave it to us, unhappily. Process took about an hour.

We arrive from Guinee Bissau and we need a Passavant. You can make it here. It's FREE for "temporary residents (included tourists)".

Report Check-In

very welcoming customs officers. We arrived during the manager's break (between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.), we had to wait for him to come back to have us sign the carnet.

Report Check-In

Had to come here to get a passavant after crossing from Guinea Bissau (the other spot in Koundara mentioned on the app couldn’t give us the document). Super fast, 5 minutes and we had our paper. They tried to made us pay 100 000GNF but we knew it was for free (it’s even written on the building, I posted the picture). They tried to make us feel guilty as another guy « paid for us » which was b*llshit ahah and didn’t work. Don’t pay anything :) they’re friendly but would love some more money

From Guinea to Senegal
They told us we have to go further to the border and they will do immigration and customs there. It's true.

Report Check-In

they do not give passavant at this point, you have to go to koundara.

Report Check-In

it seems that passavant are not longer required for guinea. I entered with motorcycle at this border post and left Guinea (Ivory coast) without being issued not asked for laissez passer nor passavant

Report Check-In

Entering Guinea from Senegal.
We reached shortly after 6pm and the border was close so we spent the night there on the road with other cars and trucks. No electricity at night.
We could cross on foot and eat on the other side.
Passports stamped in the morning (they started working at about 7am or so).
Customs was a bit more of a trouble. We had a TIP from the embassy, already paid for. They asked us 70000 Guinean francs for a stamp. We questioned and somehow it came down to 50000 supposedly cause they issued a letter, which they sealed, and told us to give in the main office in Sambaïlo. When we reached there we didn’t give the letter and got our TIP stamped for no money. Still had to get one extra stamp in Koundara.
