LOVED our stay here. Filomena and her husband were incredibly hospitable and I Whatsapped ahead and she had a fire going when we arrived.

The scenery is great, they have an excellent kitchen, and dining area with wood-fire stoves in each. We had a dinner (Salmon and Mashed Potatoes) and breakfast (Eggs, Coffee, and Bread with Homemade Jam) prepared by Filomena and both were delicious. Wi-Fi is fairly reliable.

To address a previous post, there is indeed cutlery and all the pots and pans you could ask for, they are just tucked away in the auxiliary room between the dining hall and kitchen.

There might be a trick we didn't know but we never got the showers hot, just warm.

To us, definitely worth 8,000 CP a person and is a great stop after some brutal road conditions on Route 7.

Acceptable camping, one sheltered spot, otherwise just set up your tent in the grass (pretty uneven). Good hot showers, large common space inside in case of bad weather. Small kitchen though (with oven! noteworthy) and no cutlery (?!). Nice elderly couple of owners. 8.000 CLP per person, I found it a bit expensive, especially with nice bivouac spaces a bit further south.

This is an amazing little campsite nestled in a little valley on the south shore of Lago Negro. Great facilities lovely camp spot with a shelter and grass. Host was very welcoming lighting a the wood burning stove in the hall area. Good kitchen facilities with gas cooker but I used my own smaller pot just for speed. Great showers and very clean bathroom. Just a lovely peaceful experience!

Filomena and Saturnino are just the best hosts! They have great stories to tell about the early days here. Ask if they can cook, delicious salmon or lamb. Super clean facilities. Nice views of Lago negro and a distant glacier.

Not much to add, all previous comments do the justice.

Lovely people, clean area, good ambience. We paid 16k for 2 people and a child in a camper van.

Even in high season weekend we were just us and a couple in a tent.

This also should be a great place for anyone on a cycle or a motorbike (large common area).

The reviews below are accurate and descriptive of the location. The only thing I’d like to add is that this is a must-do camping site along to CR. The owners are the sweetest people ever. It’s equivalent to visiting your grandparents - if they were Chilean. In addition to lovely conversation, wleft with a bag full of freshly made pan amasado for a VERY reasonable price and enjoyed a beautiful, big dish of salmon, boiled potatoes and tomato for dinner for 9.500CLP. Of all the camping sites, these two gentle souls deserve your money the most.

ery nice campsite. Arrived in pouring rain and found the biggest a d very modern common room on the Carreterra where we could get warm near the fireplace and cook a meal in the adjoining kitchen. Nice hot showers, breakfast/lunch/dinner can be bought at extra charge from very friendly elderly couple. Possibility of buying vegetables from their green house.

Wonderful stop with lovely owners Saturnino and Filomena and their dog Amigo. Great building for cooking, eating and relaxing. the most luxurious bathroom we have had on this road. Saturnino organised a fishing boat trip on the lake for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

The owners are absolutely lovely, very kind! They gave us some fresh vegetables as a gift and were really nice to us.
The place is clean and useful. Good Kitchen, good shelter and ok bathrooms with hot showers.
The price is still 7000 pesos pp.

Nice family with a nice dinning hall. Banos clean and water was hot. Full use of kitchen. Wood stove and gas stove. It was 7000 a person and in my opinion worth it. Outlets to charge phone and dry place to pack up if it rains.

Beautiful and quiet camping on a farm. Huge grassy area, functioning kitchen and a recently constructed indoor space where you can eat or hang out. Perfect halfway stop between Rio Tranquilo and Cochrane.
No wifi and a bit expensive (7000), but I would stay there again.

gostei muito deste lugar! chuveiro quente, cozinha equipada, lugar bonito e os donos vendem pães e hortaliças deliciosas!

Nice campground as described. They have a huge dining room now with kitchen (gas and wood stove) and hot showers. Very friendly owners. Price is now 7000 pp.

Report Check-In

Nice camping run by a very kind family. We got a very warm welcome !
But the price is excessive : 7000 pesos p/p/n. Don't know if it was just our price or if they ask the same to other travelers and especially locals.
Facilities were very good : bathrooms, kitchen, comedor.

Like the other folks said. Lovely campsite, friendly owners, good facilities (will soon be better when they finish the dining room). We bought some lettuce which she plucked fresh from the poly tunnel. And I saw an otter.

Report Check-In

Nice camping on a small farm land connected to a lago with beautiful view, and everything to spend a good night : huge grass area for many tents, huge brand new common house for the campers (in which you will find a kitchen with a wood stove, 2 baños - shower + wc - with hot water, many plugs for recharging, a big dinner room where tables should be put soon - empty for the moment because just finished). The 2 hosts (serafino and filomena) are very kind (philomena offered us some pancakes she was cooking). Eggs and verduras for sale depending on the season. No internet. 5000 CLP pp.

Report Check-In

Great campsite & perfect halfway stop for cyclists between Rio Tranquilo & Cochrane! Down a single track dirt driveway, run by a very kind & welcoming family, 2 clean bathrooms with very good hot water showers, camp kitchen - we cooked on our own stove as were the only campers here (in hot weather) & kitchen stove not lit, new dining area being finished this week. Nice wooden benches next to camp spots to unload bikes! 5000pp, no wifi at the moment but it's so lovely here it's nice to be without it.
