Description

Five separate and very spacious Campsites. Each of them with a big tree for shade and a fire place. You only see the next campsite in the distance so it is very quiet. No electricity but a clean ablution block with flush toilets. You have a beautiful view over the Linyanti swamps and a lot of elephants visit the camp. Unfortunately with 50 $ per person per night it is way too expensive (same as Savuti). The road between Linyanti and Savuti is really deep sand.

1st. Listen to what everyone is saying about the bad and sandy roads! Miles of deep sand campsite. 2nd. Fairly nice campsites, with updated ablution blocks. Only 3 have a good view of the river. The others view small rather muddy tributaries. Shade trees in most. 3. Only a few sites have views of the river. It is spacious with new ablution blocks. However, its management could be better. The day we were there, they had overbooked the sites. We had reserved ours 6 months ago, and they kept putting people in our space when they showed up w/o a spot. We had to finally just tell the camp host to stop or give us our money back. We won't come back. Really, there are no animals or game roads.

road from Ghoha to Linyanti is ok with a few patches of deep sand, but generally good and easy in dry conditions. wet season might be very challenging to not accessible. Photo is from campsite RSV2, its definitely worth to come here. When paying for campsite ask for rate in Pula, its considerably cheaper

Beautiful views of River. Hot shower but very low pressure. Road to get to camp is very thick sand!

Report Check-In

We enjoyed 3 nights at this amazing, unfenced, campsite. The ablution block is a distance from some of the campsites so it is advisable to be self sufficient at night.
We had Elephant walking through and past our campsite every day.
The camp needs to change to solar for hot water - the donkey exploded while we were there.
We did not pay $50 as we asked for SADC rates.

We stayed at this campsite for one night on our trip from Kasane to Maun and this was our best stay in the whole trip. If you would like to se more animals then people this is the place! We were alone at the campsite and in the loop for self driving. Of course it is expensive, it’s in the middle of nowhere! Very beautiful landscape with a lot of animals in the camp - back to nature!! The staff helped us call to Savuti for booking a campsites for us the day after. They’re using Namibian simcards to get reception out here!

Report Check-In

Peaceful campsite (RSV-1) with an amazing view on the river. Sunsets are beautiful and Ellis came visiting us during the evening.
Staff was very helpful when we had a car issue on the awful road between Ghoha and Linyanti gates. Recommended not to be alone to go there.

Ad described: road to get here from Mababe is real deep sand so be prepared! The place was extremely dry on my visit so just saw a few animals along the road. Tough driving. Quite disappointed on Chobe this first day but drought has made most animals disappear up North. The camp is basic with ablutions a bit far so that they suggest you use your vehicle to get to the toilets (safer). They didn’t have hot water for the showers. They made a mistake on my booking (2nd time in 4 days) but they sorted it. It is important you keep the documents of your bookings at hand. The place itself has amazing views. Beware of elephants and hippos at night! There was a bushfire on the Namibian side of the river when I stayed so it was quite a show!

Linyanti, when you want to escape the crowds of Kasane or Maun, this is a good choice. Wildlife is a abundance. Campsites is basic, hot water showers best not expect them to function too well.
Gorgeous views over the Linyanti Marsh and across to Namibian side. Road up is a fun challenging 4x4 only Sandy road.
No amenities within 100km so prepare well.
$50/pp not cheap but then Botswana ain't cheap anymore. Well worth a visit.

100US$ for 2 is definitly too much for what you get. The sandy track to Savuti is on 4km deep sandy but with 3. lowgear ok.

All 5 campsites have a really nice view on the Liyanti swamps. We heard some Hippos but otherwise no game nearby. May is probably not the best time of the year for viewing. Many Mosquitos around. Nr. 1+2 are just next to each other. The others are separate. Only Nr.3 was occupied and unfortunatly we had bad luck: 2 young southafrican guys each with a bukkie where talking very loud the whole evening, braaing and drinking. In the morning they left before sunrise and left a huge amount of food on the table for the monkeys....No respect for the nature! At the sunset a safari vehicule with tourist from a bush camp nearbay stopped at campsite 1 for a sundowner. Unprofessionel. We had to chase them away.
