I was a little confused about where to go, since they are doing construction. I went through the bus entrance, and that was perfect for my RV. Parked and inside the building to the immediate left, I found the Banjercito. The agent there spoke very little English, but I was able to speak enough Spanish to make it through the process. It took 1/2 hour to process the 10 year TIP for my motorhome and 6 month for my car. The agent explained everything and highlighted important parts of the form. I was able to pay with my credit card. Leaving was also confusing, due to the construction. I had to cut across a lane at a crosswalk. Overall, a very easy experience.

Coming north to drop TIP off, you have to go to the opposite end to drop off TIP for RV and/or other vehicles with you. Hint! Know where your vin #'s are at as the person takes photos of them. We had a hard time with our side by side, not knowing where it was at. Took longer due to that.

Very professional. Spoke little English. They made all copies needed. Need registrations, driver's license, passport, FMM cards. Took about one hour. Not super busy. Very large facility and clean.

If you drive from Mexiko to USA and you have a TIP, than you must return the TIP here, not at the border. Go to the building to the banjercito and explain your exportation of your RV and the canceling of the TIP. Than an inspector makes photos of your RV and he will see your VIN Number of the car. He will see the two positions of the VIN Number for example in the door and on the chassis. He is very friendly. Than you get a document which confirms your cancellation „retorno definitivo“. Than you drive to the border in Sonoyta 28 kilometers. Be careful there are speed police controls. At the border you are directly by the Americans.

you cant miss it on hwy 2. go line autobus if you have an RV. inside the buliding is the banjercito. only spanish speaking office Ladys, but it works, you need copies of passport with FMM (do it in sonoyta), insurance and vehicle documents. you need in Original a Dokument with your Adress, the driving licence, Passport with FMM and the vehicle documents. EMail Adress and Phone nummer. Fill out a paper whats in the camper (TV, dish Washer, Aqua - si or no). 55,08$ with VISA. for RVs no deposit. 10 years valid. you get a paper of this Dokument. Email gmx. did not work.
45 min All in all.

Straightforward doing your TIP here, very well English speaking officer inside. Payment 55.08 usd for the TIP and a 400 usd deposit, it's possible to pay by Credit card but you're better off paying cash with the exchange rates. We where the only ones there, the process took about 15 minutes for 2 motorcycles.

Huge modern checkpoint. Regular questions. Keep your passport and vehicle registration ready. We weren't asked for copies. They checked the van, asked about weapons.

just got our 300 dollar, cash, back frpm here. take 1st curve on left truckcamper is checked.go into greybuilding and tell you want to cancel. they send y p u to little white building, see photo and will come.to take pictures ho bacl to grey building + passport + driving licence and get money back

Modern and efficient custom.
You do need photocopies of your driving license, immatriculation,passport and the tourist card you got at the immigration.
There is a small restaurant about 300m further down the rd that makes photocopies..

entering with European van thier printer wouldn't copy properly, after finding Sammy and a little prompting, they inspected my van with a camera and changed my 3 mths entry into a 10 year TIP as a casa rodante....it can be done they just need to change the format. 4 hrs goes fast in the desierto

This is the place to cancel your TIP when you leave Mexico. Ring the buzzer at the smal building with the green roof. They make pictures from your Motorhome and from your VIN Number. Clean before your number at the chassis, that they can easy make the pics. All in all a easy process with friendly officers.

Wish we had crossed the border here instead of Tijuana! super chill. big facility with parking to do all your paperwork. we already had our permit stuck on the truck and they waved us though.

We have a french rv of 24 years and we pay 55.08 $.
Friendly crew, I was alone but I wait 2 hours....may be an problem on the computer ..!!!

Returning your TIP

Enter the Aduana from the same driveway as if you are coming from Sonoyta and drive to the exit back onto the highway to Caborca. There you will find a small white building. Ring the buzzer or go in to the Banjercito office. I've included pictures of the small building.

Get your TIP (IITV) here. Pretty easy, on a Tuesday morning we were the only ones in line. If you have a motorhome or old vehicle make sure to tell them so you get 10 years and no deposit. They DO accept credit cards, though only visa and MasterCard currently. Took us around 1.5 hours for 2 motorhome/ vans.

Beautiful brand new Aduana/Customs office. Could not use credit card at this time but I assume in the near future. Paid for bike TIP with US$ only...would not accept pesos. Can't miss it, about 20 minutes towards Caborca from Sonoyta. Get your FMM (tourist card) at the border.

we were told at Lukeville border to come here for our TIP. But the office for this is not open yet. Must go Empalme?????
