Something not right?

Description

9-1-2022: stayed one night. About a 1/2 mile of the main road, with a little road noise, but not really an issue. Verizon cell worked well. Cool Logger museum within walking distance.

Latest Check-Ins

Closed for winter season, not sure about the other campsite further along the road but there were some bonfires so didn’t bother venturing up as it was getting dark.

Nearby fishing, logging/local history museum, hiking/biking/Nordic skiing trails, separate dumpstation on the road near the entrance. Bathrooms have free showers with hot water (until someone flushes.) Lots of shade. 10-12 feet between sites. Reservations online are a higher price for non-residents-$8 higher. However, you can't find a spot and pay in person for multiple days. You can pay for that night and then go online to reserve additional nights. You pay extra as out of state AND for the ReserveAmerica fee of $8. We paid $32 the first night and $48 for the second night. A $16 difference.
The campground was nearly full on both weeknights we were there, and getting a weekend night was impossible, even for the tent sites in the middle of Loop A.
The bathrooms were in serious need of upgrades and the road noise from Hwy 97 (trucks with jake brakes at all hours) at the west and north ends of the park was terrible. It may have been the same all throughout the campground.
Would not stay again unless it was only one night and we were in desperate need of shore power and showers.
Oh! And there were a couple of species of ground squirrels running around, jumping into engine compartments and undercarriage. Nearly everyone had the hood up to discouraged chewing and nesting.

Big pine tree shade in most of the park. Big RV to Tent camping areas = $19 up to $40 per night. We are in a Sprinter Van with no need to hook-up, so we paid $19. They take cash and credit cards. Nice walking areas with the dog on leash.
