Beautiful ruins of the former Zapotec capital. Entry costs 90P/P. From 9:00 a.m. you can buy tickets for cash at the cash desk, or there are machines for card payments (VISA, Eurocard, Americanexpress, etc.) right next to it. We visit Monte Albán with the guide Kristina. She does the tour of your choice in Spanish, English or German. about 2 hours cost 600 pesos. Highly recommended....

Magnificent place! The owner is so nice, kind and attentive to our every needs. She loves this place and it shows. "Gardens", trees, plants and flowers everywhere. the buildings are taking care of. it clean and just beautiful. She showed us a little map of the surroundings of the little town of San Agustin and all the little things to visit or see that makes that place very special. I took a walk to the village, later (around 19h) and even If it was dark, I felt very secure! people are lovely.
as for the dog part, you are in mexico 🤷 BUT I just come from 5 months in Puerto Escondido and believe me when I say, you'll be fine to sleep here. the dogs are not neighbors, you eat them from the distance. if you can deal with that, you are in the wrong country (I am a light sleeper and I hate barking dogs!)
250 pesos / par pers. we have a pick up and a little trailer 5x8.

Report Check-In

450 Pesos for a small rig and 2 persons...got 1 shower for everybody and only the one toilet for hombres was open, mujeres closed. WiFi fast. Still: Highly overpriced for what you get!

Report Check-In

What a lovely campground! The place itself is very relaxing, tons of plants and a nice view of the surrounding mountains. We were the only overlanders so pretty much had the place to ourselves. Clean bathrooms and hot showers. The host is so kind, a great cook, and will do your laundry if you ask. She let us try all sorts of different Oaxaca specialities and ingredients fresh from the area (including homemade jam from the mango tree planted on site!) Vegetarian options. She also speaks very good English. Definitely didn’t experience any of the negatives listed below. Paid $550MX for two people and two dogs (pricing as of 2023 in photo)

Report Check-In

There are so many dogs around everywhere, barking all night long, that sleeping in a tent is completely impossible, even with silicone earplugs. I do not recommend it to anyone who is a light sleeper, a nightmare in the environment of dozens of dogs. The most horrible night on my 11-year-long trip around the world. The horror of barking. aAnd you have to pay 200 mxp for that?!

Report Check-In

The place itself is very nice.

But, shower is cold, Wifi didn’t work in my apartment and was very slow in general.

Place is always noisy. Next door is music every night. Dogs barking everywhere. Workers at the property playing music all day.

Amalia, the caretaker is not honest. She tells her own stories the way it suits her. Her friendliness often comes across as fake. She is money driven.
She hates dogs and even threw rocks at my dog.

Best restaurant around is the Chines/Vietnamese/Thai called Mia Arroz.

Report Check-In

The place itself is great, a lot of trees, nice grass amd good strong wifi. But, the prices fluctuate depending on the ladie's mood. We've got charged 200pesos per adult, then 100pesos for my vehicule, she also wanted to charged my kids (4 and 1) 100pesos each. we finally end up paying 550pesos for one night. Because we arrived late, we got stuck here. Good microbrewery next door, with good IPA, soothed this bad experience. I believe this place is not as popular as the other ones in town, due to this weird and off pricing.

Report Check-In

Everything still as described by the former posters. I paid 250$/night for 1 person with 1 RV, 2 people will pay 350$. Beautiful garden, nice lady taking care of the guests, but in my eyes too expensive for a parking lot next to other cars.

Report Check-In

Nice clean place, well kept.
We paid 350 pesos for two people in the van.
Late 12:00 we should have left the place.

Report Check-In

We reached out via what’s app before arriving to check prices and availability. The owner was quick to respond and even dropped a pin for us once we made it to Oaxaca. She had fresh drinking water out for us and the lights on. She is working hard to improve this place and it shows. Shower and toilet are freshly renovated. The water was hot, but the pressure was very low. She offered breakfast for 160 per person. Fresh fruit, veggies, eggs, chiliquilles, homemade bread, and coffee or tea.

Report Check-In

Really nice spot, very clean and well maintained. But not really think for campers. Not kitchen (we asked for a place to cook but she didn’t offer us to cook to her kitchen). Nothing to wash your dishes. She can borrow you a little bbq, but she ask for money for the wood.

Report Check-In

It is a very nice Place, clean and quiet in the Night.
150p pp
50p for the car
50p for the dog
150p for laundry

Everthing is clean , but there was no toilet paper. Not so good for that price.

I think, the Money is very importend for her.
She said, that our dog eats her bread and we have to pay 120p, but our dog doesnt eat the bread. ok...

Report Check-In

camping is now 200 per person.
there was no hot shower!

Perfect place to rest, very well maintained, Amalia is a very welcoming and friendly host!!!
toilets and bathrooms so clean!
vegetable garden where you can buy a variety of organic greens !
important: the pueblo is totally opens up on the 7 of September !!
300MP/ night with electricity
beautiful hike close by , dominating Oaxaca city.

Report Check-In

We spent during the Covid-19-Pandemie 5.5 months here. It’s the perfect place for a longterm stay : good indestucture (toiletts, showers, internet, electricity), beautifull park, lovely village, good walks. There are plenty of taxis to Oaxaca de Juarez that is 18 km away and also the owner brings you there (compare the prices). The place is on 1600 meter above sealevel and we liked that the temperature during night was below 20 degrees celsius. People here were very friendly and helpful so we felt at home and like part of a family. At the beginning we paid pP 150 pesos and for the car 50 pesos. Later on we got a slight discount.

Report Check-In

We were here 5.5 months during the Covid-19 pandemic. It's the perfect place for a long-term stay: the holiday complex has everything we need: clean toilets / showers, electricity and good WiFi. The Indian village is in beautiful surroundings and we weren't bored for a single day during this time. The gracious owner and her staff, with whom we had a family relationship over time, also contributed.
For the stay we paid 150 pesos per person and 50 pesos for the mobile home.

Report Check-In

Jardin camping or bungalows, both fantastic! The kind owner, Amalia, is a great host, speaks English and checks in with you daily to insure your needs are met. New showers and wash station are nicely done! A lovely retreat to spend a few days.

Report Check-In

2nd time in 2 years here....Same beautiful grounds, same great people with a brand new shower room. A relaxing getaway outside Oaxaca..150 pesos pp

Report Check-In

Beautiful place in the valley of San Agustin Etla. The road was great and it was away from the main traffic roads. This place will accept tall rigs- my camper is almost 11 feet tall and places in the city were just not an option. Peaceful surroundings; amazing new showers with HOT water! There is also a lovely clean sink and cook area that campers can use. Amelia the owner lives on site and was such a gracious host, we never wanted for anything. You can also organize meals with her kitchen staff and she will also do laundry for a fee. Amelia pays special attention to the details and keeps the place and the cabanas perfectly clean! I really enjoyed her place it was actually nicer than the Airbnb’s I stayed at in the city. It is a quick drive to the city and surrounding villages.

Report Check-In

Very good service, one of the bests in Oaxaca, friendly staff, pet friendly, good comunication, good people! Some noise in the community from happy neighbors, but that’s the culture in Mèxico, happy and sociable people!, who know how to enjoy life! Nice to learn from them!

Report Check-In

It’s a piece of paradise in the middle of nowhere! A real attraction!, we recommend it widely!

Report Check-In

An excellent place to rest and camp. It's 150 pesos for each person, a fair price considering that shower and wifi is included. Great attention and amazing vibe. I fully recommend it.

Report Check-In

We didn’t have a good experience here. They pumped up the price to a steep 150pp plus 80pesos for the car. We managed to get it down to 350 total and were promised a nice hot shower in return. Their worker would bring us the keys to the shower but he never did. The next morning he only came to collect the cash. We didn’t agree with the price, since we weren’t able to use the showers. The owner, who wasn’t even there and we had to talk to on the phone, would only give us 20p discount for not being able to use the shower and even told us they would call the police if we wouldn’t pay. Not worth its money at all, unless you like poor service, karaoke noise at night and a trumpet band in the morning, then you came to the right place!

Report Check-In

Great place! Super friendly host and near perfect facilities

Report Check-In

Only stayed for one night, but loved the place. Beautiful surroundings, friendly people, perfect bathroom facilities, big grassy area - perfect for dogs. When nobody is there, park at the ‘estacionamente’ and wait until someone registers you. This is also where you’ll be in an RV. 150pp and 30 pesos for a dog. We needed to leave early the next day and they fixed us breakfast at 7am, just needed to order the day before.

Note: maps.me didn’t know the dirt road leading to this place and wants to lead you too far. On the main road go right and left as indicated, but then follow the river until the entrance. There are signs. Last part is dirt road, doable in any vehicle.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot with enough place to camp. You can use a bathroom from one of the cabins, very clean and with a hot shower.
Dog friendly. We payed 150 per person per night and 30 per night for the dog.
In the weekend there’s some music from town and yes there are some dogs barking in the distance but we found it not annoying.

Report Check-In

We arrived on a Friday and it was lovely and peaceful. Sat/Sun it got busy with local families and kids kicking their football against our truck. Generally, it's a beautiful place with nice facilities. 150pppn.

Report Check-In

This was my second time here. It is a wonderful place! We camped with two bikes and two tents. The price is up to 150 pesos per person, but it's worth it. Nice shower to use too. Some dogs around, but it's Mexico! Overall, just a great place.

Report Check-In

After all the goods comments from previous overlanders we decided to choose theis place for a month as we had work to do and needed a very quiet place.
The first day we came we asked Amelia if it was quiet as we had to write, putting special emphasis on NO music NO dogs barking at all time. She said there was none of those. We rented a Cabaña.
After a week we had to leave the place; right in front there is a bar with Karaoke playing very loud mexican / reggaeton music saturdays and sundays from 1pm to 23:00.
Also, on saturdays, Amalida opens her bar, and she also has Karaoke until 23:00
The neighbourgh next to her plays reggaeton everyday, although just for 2-3 hours.
The dogs at the camping are super friendly; Pepino, Sahara... but the area is full of other dogs, barking at night at all times..

Apart from that: the place itself is nice and wifi works very well.
Amelia is not so honest person..

Report Check-In

Beautiful as described below. Dogs are allowed but cost mxn 50 extra per night.

Report Check-In

Didn't expect anything like this "perfect"... Pure awesomeness... ;-) ;-) ;-) Looks like they changed prices randomly when I arrived... Payed 120pesos - here it still says 100pesos. Not worth negotiating since it has this value... They probably didn't find the refresh button.... ;-)

This place is very relaxing. Lady who owns the place is really nice, tries to help with everything. The showers and toilets are really clean. And the taxi to Oaxaca leaves every 5 to 10 min (13 pesos). So easy.
We enjoyed the place a lot!!!!

Excelente campground with great garden space for camping and cabins to spend a comfortable and relaxing night !, good, hot showers! Only $120 per person per night the rest of 2018!, don’t miss it! Lots of interesting places to visit in the area!

No problem with big rigs!! We have a MAN camper 8m-3.60-2.35 and went in with absolute no problem. I Do not know why not big rig friendly... you will love it....and we have seen an electric hook up as well... really nice place. Easy and cheap to get in town with a collectivo.

Beautiful setting. Great Wifi, good power, clean toilet and hot water shower-life is hell!
Paid $240 for two people. One of the nicest places we’ve stayed.

Great, beautiful, relaxing and peaceful campground! Cabins available as well with comfortable beds. Good wifi, affordable prices, only $150 per person. Clean bathrooms and hot shower! Meals and coffee available!, and lots of places to visit around! Wednesday market, archaeological sites, art center, paper and glass factories, public swimming pools, and lots lots more!

Report Check-In

Lovely place to stay. Great facilities. Very relaxing. Highly recommended!

Easy to get to town. Just 13 pesos per person via the communal taxi that runs until 9.30pm.

Just as described by previous posters.

As described. The best internet around with about 3-5mb/s. Very relaxing place, yet not much around in the Pueblo. We stayed 2 nights.

Report Check-In

Such a nice place ! We’ve called before coming and negociate the price for 80pp/night. Nice place, nice owner! We endend staying 4 nights. Great wifi, Almeida arranged a hot shower everyday even if all the cabanas were rented. She can do some laundry for 100p/charge. Everything is clean and quiet (except the night of new year ;) We’ve been invited a few time for campfire with marshmallows by the kids. Please let’s take a walk to the village and go see the view from the center of arts, so nice! The village is beautiful, as the place in from of the white church. Highly recommended !

We stayed here for a week during Dia De Los Muertos celebrations. Beautiful spot.
You can catch a collectivo in the village that will take you into Oaxaca for 13.5 pesos and about 30 minutes. Last collectivo back is around 8pm.
10 minute walk into the village where you can buy beer and food.
200 pesos a night. Host is very helpful. Dump station is a challenge which we will hopefully overcome tomorrow before we leave.

This was a paradaise in the middle of nowhere. Perfect place to relax after a long trip. The hosts were very nice and friendly. My husband paid nothing for father's day and we had coffee for free. Great clean and hot shower and also, beautiful bathroom, not only clean but plants around. The hosts made us feel home. They also count with a restaurant with TV. Only one friendly street dog in the area, no problem. There are nice, comfortable cabins at reasonable prices where we spend a night. Good service. Highly recomended.

A beautiful spot. Not really a camp ground as had about 6 gorgeous casitas, but room to park a few small rigs. No hookups but a small toilet and hot showers on demand.

We paid 100Mx per person, which was a fair price, but the owner did say the prices were going up to 150pp which is a little steep. Still a beautiful spot, and great location to explore Monte Alban and local area.

Report Check-In

A gorgeous spot - not really a campsite as they have about 6 lovely casitas, but a nice place to camp with small rigs without any hookups. Nice toilets and hot showers on demand. Only 500 men of dirt road.

We paid 100Mx per person, but owner said it's going up to 150pp which is a little steep. Still a great place to explore Monte Alban and local area (great pools nearby).

Report Check-In

A really nice place. We got the friendliest welcome on our trip here. A oasis near the town.

Report Check-In

Nice casitas, level ground for camping. We opted for a one bedroom casita. At 800 pesos it was a bit pricier than our normal picks but we wanted to make sure that we were able to get a good, hot shower.
The owner speaks very good English having lived for several years in Vancouver. For an extra price she will cook you breakfast and dinner.

Report Check-In

Little gem close to Oaxaca. A true green oasis. We arrived without notice but the owner arranged a room for us right away. Spacious bedroom with small kitchen. We paid 750 $MX per nacht. To camp with a van is 100 $MX per night. Possebility to have breakfast / diner at extra costs. Good working internet. Three friendly dogs.

Report Check-In

Glad we had GPS as you need to go down some 2 km of dirt twisty turny roads off the highway. Once inside our fist impression was that it is a beautiful hideaway nestled into the hills. The owner is eccentric but lovely and it looked like it would by fine. It is not really set up for car camping as others have indicated previously. This place is all about the cabanas! If you do decide to stay in a car you might find it uncomfortable for a few reasons. 1. It is EXPENSIVE for what you get. In the last year the price has only changed for camping from 85 p/pp to 150 p/pp with no discernible increase in service or amenities. 2. Showers were not included in this price initially (we had to negotiated being let into one of the cabanas eventually). 3. Bugs! After dark these were particularly bad. 4. No power, we eventually found one dodgy plug that kept crackling all night. 5. Basic Breakfast (not taken) was 300 p. enough said. 6. No other food was offered. 7. Mangy street dogs were ripping up rubbish outside our car all night. To finish on a positive note, we were glad to stay as it was the only decent option for this area for car camping.

We stayed over a week and eventually moved into an awesome studio for 600p. High ceilings mexican tiles fireplace patio ample hot water. Rooms with no kitchen for 500p. Stay 6 nights 1 night free.
