Description

This is a beautiful spot overlooking the canyon! Hard to ever leave again. Camping in prime location 10,000pp pn. Great local breakfast for 6000pP. Basic bathroom and shower but stunning view and super friendly owner who speaks English (correction: the person I spoke to didn't). There are some protective dogs. Laundry seems available. The turnoff from the main highway is a sharp uphill dirt road. You need to be careful as the traffic is unforgiving and there is very little room to maneuver. The view from here is better than from inside the park.

Report Check-In

Perfect place to ve! It's a paradise! Whether you camp or use the cabanas: you'll enjoy! Phantastic view into the valley! We couldn't enter due to the low gate (max is 3.20m!), but Sergio, the nice caretaker of the site let us camp in front of the gate for free!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Stunning views, comfortable climate (cooler than in the canyon), quiet at night, clean bathroom with (cold) shower, super welcoming hosts, 15k p.p.p.n. (sleeping in our van). We very much enjoyed our stay here.

Report Check-In

This place was amazing! We stayed a week and felt like we were part of the family. The view is stunning and the weather is perfect. Trying to get away from the hot weather it was cool a night and warm during the day. They offer breakfast (if you ask the night before) and there is a restaurant down the road, they will provide a menu for you it gets delivered to the campsite. You also get to see paraglides ever afternoon starting at 10:30! One of my favorite places I’ve camped so far! ($15,000/pp)

Report Check-In

They were asking for 20k for overnight so I didn't stay there. I parked just outside instead, in front of the school. Quiet area and amazing views!

Report Check-In

Tres bel endroit. Vue imprenable sur la cañon a 3kms du parc (ferme lundi et mardi ) sanitaires propres et récents wifi. 15000 cop/pers A faire !

Report Check-In

We felt it was a bit oversold on here. It’s a pretty small space, you’re right next to either their house or the cabanas (which were full when we visited). The view is really nice. He warned us that their dogs bark during the night. We decided to wild camp in the canyon instead.

Report Check-In

Well, this may be my favorite camping spot of the trip so far. There was another rig parked up by the cabañas and we couldn’t find another place to get level up there, so we parked down beside the house. Easier bathroom access. Woke up surrounded by colorful bougainvillea, nestled in clouds filling the valley below. The view is truly restorative. There is a covered bench above where you can watch the sunset. The vibrant birds came to eat the banana halves left out for them. The temperature was perfect and we didn’t get any rain. We weren’t even supposed to stay here; it was a last-minute plan B. I feel like it was a gift that we found it. Oh, and we had food delivered from the nearby restaurant (Don Julio can give you the menu). The pollo a la parrilla was crazy good and a big portion.

Report Check-In

Super beautiful place overlooking the canyon! We stayed even one day longer then planned here. Clean bathrooms and clean water to refill your tank. Owner is very nice. During the days there are some paraglyders above you. We recommend this place!

Report Check-In

Came for a night. Spent three ;) Don Marco is an awesome host. Parking space is not perfectly level and there are no rocks to use so bring your own balancer ;)

Report Check-In

Loved it here & Don Marco is an awesome host. Came for a night, ended up spending 3 :)

Report Check-In

Awesome, family run place that has the best view of the canyon. Spent two nights here. Decent wifi, good hosts, bathroom has shower but no hot water. Make sure you get groceries before arriving because it’s a 10km drive to the closest store.

Report Check-In

A good place to stay, the road to reach the camp is quite muddy, but they are about to renew it.
Nice view on the canyon!

Report Check-In

Amazing spot to camp with a stunning view in the canyon.
Infrastructure is basic but functional (toilet, shower, tables, chairs).
The hosts are helpful and friendly.

Report Check-In

We are just a bit over 3 meters high and at first didn’t fit under the entrance. Lowered our tire pressure and just made it under. Very quiet mid week. They only offer dinner at the restaurant mid week, but open up more if the cabins fill up. Beautiful views and very quiet if the cabins are empty.

Report Check-In

to turn into the small street on the right of the main road, go a bit ahead the main road, turn and come back. then the access is easy.

Report Check-In

beautyful relaxing place. 15'000night/person.

Report Check-In

No problems with my 21 feet camper. May be difficult during rain.

Report Check-In

It was difficult for me to drive a big motorhome to the final location, but finally I managed to arrive. Before entrance I asked if the way was suitable for a bus and they told me that is used for trucks and very safe, however it was very wild and I don’t recommend for nervous people afraid of highs, to return I request help from local experimented driver and paid 10000 to thank him.
Very quiet place The views are amazing! And they have paths to enjoy Cañón del Chicamocha, and parapentes. Sunset is awesome I video called my family to share the experience!!!

12000/night, bathroom, wifi, power (they unplug during the night). Additionally paid 6000 for laundry
(311) 832-0083 very friendly people.

Report Check-In

it is a very very very nice place. 15k per person per night. Excellent views. The owner is so kind. Totally recommended

Report Check-In

Place as wonderful as described by the others. 10.000 per night per person. We got dinner including a juice for 14.000 per person. The space for campers/tents is not too huge, though, as also the visitors from the cabanas park their cars there. You can do paragliding from there, one spot to start is around 5 minutes away to walk. The owner/people taking care of the cabanas can give you more info.

Report Check-In

We received a rather cool welcome by the lady of the house (don't know why). Their business is renting out the cabañas, vehicle campers are allowed on the (smallish, uneven) parking lot. Tenters have a lot of better options. Good views of the cañon below, comfortable temperatures, bathroom basic but clean. Some noise in the evening from the cabañas.

Paid 10000 COP per person per night.

Report Check-In

One of the nicest spots we have found while Overlanding in Colombia. Two friendly owners with three lovely dogs. We camped for 10k pp/pn overlooking the canyon. Owners offered to cook for us also but we didn't need food.

Shower (cold but fine), running water and free Wifi available. 5 stars.

Report Check-In

Nice little camping with a view kind of obstructed by plants. Clean and quiet... 10k pp.

Loved our stay here. Friendly people, nice walking option to the park. Felt very content just sitting and enjoying the view. It is so quiet here.

Exactly as others described but don't come without repelente. Venezuelan family that run it are lovely. Parapente available a few 100m from the place. Highly recommended. WiFi seems to reach tent/van pitches.

Report Check-In

One night here, they charge 10.000 cop per person. Very nice and clean place, with beautiful views, people and dogs.
They have very good wifi and clean bathrooms

Report Check-In

First price for camping: 15000cop, after bargaining: 10000cop.
Very nice, quiet and secure place.
They cook too. Arepa with scrambled eggs, 8000cop

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Nice enough spot, great view and calm. Price has gone up to 20k per person per night which is pretty steep. Not much level space, cold shower, but lovely (not English speaking) family run the place with fun dogs. Laundry is 20k now also.

Report Check-In

Very nice area. You can overlook the camping and also go paragliding.
Moreover, you can walk over or have a stunning view of the paragliders. Nice family that rents out the camping space. Very simple, but very clean bathroom. Cold shower only. Planned one night, stayed two as it was so calm and relaxing. Watch out for the stars.

Report Check-In

Price now $15k per person. Still a lovely place! Amazing view. Really friendly family running the place. (They are new, first day when we were there, but super welcoming and friendly.) The upper park spot is more private but very sloping, you would need major levelers to get flat there. We parked right next to their house and it's totally flat and incredible view.

Report Check-In

Wow! Truly amazing, peaceful location. Bathroom and shower clean, caretaker is super friendly. About 1km on the dirt road from the main hwy.

Report Check-In

as described by others. we paid 30k for two of us and our truck. paid an additional 5 k to use the washing machine and do some laundry. tight quarters for larger vehicles. we are 24 feet and it is tight. upper area is not very flat for parking. Internet is good. comfortable for a night or two.

lovely spot to relax. super scenic and the family is very lovely. wasnt sure whether to spend a night here but definitely worth it if you are contemplating a night around the canyon. view is amazeballs. charge 10k per person and have all fascilities you need

Report Check-In

totally great spot. nice lady running the place and many super sweet kids. the dogs were a bit protective at 1st due to our dog but they quickly welcomed her. we stayed for four nights. paragliding is a short walk down hill (we paid $160,000 pp and it was well worth it) just walk iver and ask. they typically fly from 10 am until 1:00. the water park is a nice 45 min stroll down past the paragliding just follow the dirt road (fork left and keep going as it turns into a small trail)

we paid 30,000/night fir 2 adults and two kids. shower and toilet were decent. you can use electricity if you have a long cord. 2 ATMs at waterpark. small stores about 45 min walk up the hill (kids can show you).

awesome place to relax.

We loved being here, very quiet place with stunning views. We stayed 3 nights. Difficult turn off the highway. One lane road to the place. Bathroom is very clean, cold showers. Wifi worked in our camper. The hosts are wonderfully nice. They brought us coffee to our camper and brought us drinking water back from town. I felt like I recharged physically and mentally here. Only 10,000 pesos per person per night.

Report Check-In

Great friendly place with good view, clean bath room.

Report Check-In

Nice spot in the Canyon Chicamocha. Stayed here three nights in our small van. If you would like to walk to the national- or aquaparc it's about 40-50 min. Back needs more time. Remember: Parcs are only open Wed - Sun. Very good WiFi, Electricity and cold showers. 10k p.P. Friendly owners.

Report Check-In

Lovely family who run this place! Clean bathrooms, good wifi, nice flat area to camp with a gazebo for shade. They will prepare meals for you if you ask for a good price as well. You can paragliding in the mornings just a short walk away from here as well, brilliant views!

Breathtaking view over the canyon. The host Sergio is super friendly. Toilet and shower are nice and clean. We payed 10000 Pesos per people per night.

We stopped in here after spending the afternoon at PNN Chicamocha, walking around and doing the cable car thing. Nice place, quite. room for two campers and a couple of tents. Bathroom clean and cold shower. Electricity at site. Sergeo good to talk about things to do in the area.

Report Check-In

We came from Bucaramango and used the road coordinates below and made the sharp turn with a little back and forth, luckily not a great deal of traffic. No 4x4 or high clearance needed. Not a huge area but like mentioned, amazing views. Be aware after you go through gate, there is a low hanging cable that can be raised if needed for higher vehicles. Paid 10,000COP pp. Bathroom very clean, toilet had seat and there is TP. Good Tigo reception. Very quiet. Sergio and family very friendly. He will help you arrange paragliding over the canyon; you can see them flying right from campsite.

Report Check-In

warning: entrance gate is 3 m high. we didn't fit so we stayed in front of the gate on a beautiful grassy area. place is very relaxed and feels secure. owner didn't charge us and let us use the internet and get water. 40 min walk to the national Park. both claro and movistar have ok reception. neither 4x4 nor high clearance required.
paragliding available on a nearby ridge. ask for Leo.

Report Check-In

If you drive from Bucaramanga and you have a bit longer vehicle, its better do drive a just a little bit further up on the main highway and from the first parking lot you can turn around. Its steep turnoff with a good angle. Managed to get our Sprinter front axle off the ground. Learn from others mistakes. Sense we did not fit hight wise into the yard then we just parked outside of the gates. Next to the basketball court. Not that big of a difference as the amazing view is visible from everywhere. We also did not used bathrooms or showers, so our stay fos for free. You definitely dont need high clearance or/and 4X4 to get here.

Report Check-In

Very nice place, quiet in the middle of the nature.
To reach the place take the dirty road at the following coordinates : 06°45′29.7″N 73°00′20.13″W

Still 10k pppn, but now featuring WiFi! Password: [passwords are not allowed unless explicitly permitted by the owner]. The owner ran an electrical cord for us, and there was a little fabric gazebo we could use for sun protection. Can't complain about the view. To get here take the gravel road from the cable car station (marked ad a dotted line on maps.me.

Gorgeous views of Chicamocha Canyon with an impressive garden of succulents and a relaxing vibe. Epic sunsets. Camped below the cabins where they even had a little pop up tent/awning to provide shade for campers. Average wifi and still same price.

Report Check-In

Very nice little spot off of the main highway. Dirt road is easy to find, about 5 minutes on it following the signs until you arrive. Beautiful soccer/basketball court too. The owner wasn't around when we arrived but were greeted by the caretaker, also really nice. 10,000 cop per person, he even hooked us up with some fresh eggs and some buns. Amazing view to wake up to. Shower/bathroom combo simple but clean.

Superb spot with a warm friendly host. It is so gorgeous-- the view is better than anything found in PNN Chicamocha, plus there's friendly doggies, a clean bathroom and bougainvillea plants. The best camping spot we've had that wasn't deep in nature. -Adam & Maggie of Let's Not Panic
