Description

Found this nice, flat bush camp among pine trees between Guamote and Alausi. Really quiet. Can drive in even further from the road if desired. Good place for a campfire! Free.

Not much at this location anymore. More spots down the road, marked on iOverlander now

Report Check-In

There are plenty of flat spots along this road, and small ways going in the "forest" or where you can be hidden from the road. Great and quiet place to stay !

Report Check-In

No traffic noise, no light, no people, few trees. If you are looking for a remote spot not to be seen from the road this is not ill-suited. Big flat area where you can choose your spot within a few hundert meters. You even might find protection from the wind.
We changed the title from “among pine trees”, which is in the meantime misleading to “big flat grassy area”.
3g mobile internet reception.

Clear cut to create more agriculture land. Still possible to park but not in a forest. Didn't like.

Free. I am cycle touring and this is a fantastic camp site. Quiet off the main highway plenty of flat land to pitch a tent. Perfect.

Nice and quite place in a small pine tree forest.

Report Check-In

Very nice and quiet place in the forest. No people around in the afternoon, but in the morning we were surprised by a forest worker walking past with a chainsaw. Would recommend as a nice stopover between Cuenca and Quito.

We went further in between pine trees and cactuses. There are plenty of flat spaces to camp. Very nice and quiet place to camp. Perfect place for a campfire. Lots of moths not that many mosquitos. No amentities. Free!
