Description

Boondocking off Buffalo Valley Rd, just a bit east of Grand Teton National Park. I stayed here to see the total solar eclipse at the Tetons, and even with the crowds then, there were spaces available out here. It's a good paved road, and you'll see various camping spots scattered along it. Easy drive to get into the park for hiking and sightseeing. No facilities. Free. No cell service. This is a group site and can accommodate multiple rigs, unlike many of the smaller pull-offs in the area.

Site 9 is beautiful, level, and can fit 6+ vans or buses. However the mosquito swarms were so aggressive this time of year that we had to leave. I've truly never seen more mosquitos at a site. No cell service.

Site 12 was actually 1.2 miles from the paved highway. This morning we moved to site 11 by the creek. No shade but that’s perfect for an October day. We’re staying a few nights here because it is so nice. Quiet, beautiful creek side free space. Take the left fork switchback down to the site. Must

Nice open spot on the north side of the road. Down the narrow gravel road about 1/2 mile on the right. Labled site 12 Quiet. Beautiful creek access 200 yard away

Stayed several days at site 11 down the dirt road to the right - about a mile there is a Y take the left to 11 - to the right are sites 9 and 10. 11 is right on the creek - I explored all the sites along the road and 11 is definitely the best Not big rig friendly - the last 1/4 mile has some rough spots

Great spot if the others before are full

Beautiful quiet spot with coyotes howling. Spectacular sunset spot.

Overlooks Tracey Lake if you follow road past first wide area designated for camping.

Was only me there that night.

It’s a large place where I found very nice people. We can’t see the Tetons from here but the company was worthy the night. I think the small spot before has a better view.

There is a nice landing on top of a cliff over the river, it fits about 5-6 campers, we had a two nights with just us and one other camper and one night with another 5 campers.. nice view of the tetons and easy to get back to route 26. If you drive up and down the road there are many different places to park. NO CELL service until you get back on Route 26.
