North to south:
We are obviously a foreign vehicle (big sticker at the front), they waved us through.

This checkpoint only seems to be active going south. When we passed going northbound there were cones set up on the southbound side only and no police in sight.

Heard bad story about this police check but all good with us. Heading south, A hola with smile and they waved us through very friendly. I understand this is a police check entering a new province. Up 1 km north there is another police check (I guess for leaving the province) very friendly as well……

Corrupt Police. Polícia Corrupta.
Vou escrever em português porque essa é importante principalmente para os muitos brasileiros que vem para essa região. Nós passamos nos últimos meses 4 vezes nesse mesmo posto, sempre nos param porque nosso carro é modificado mas só pedem documentação. Dessa vez, estamos sendo rebocados por cambão porque uma peça do carro quebrou, então eles aproveitaram disso para dizer que é uma infração ser rebocado pelo mesmo, sendo que o Item para estrangeiro é obrigatório por lei e o uso também para deslocar o veículo. Mandou irmos para uma salinha (ta ai o perigo) e Inventou uma lei para dizer que estava certo porém já estamos muito acostumados a passar por policias corruptas e enfrentamos, com educação e firmeza. No final ele cedeu, pois sabia que não havia nada errado.

We were stopped and looked at the vehicle documents and identification, they asked to see the extinguisher, triangle and the interior of the vehicle, they also checked the reflective strips and released us, no problems.

We saw police on the other side of the road So only southbound traffic was checked

Police check Point. As overlanders we were pulled over. They asked if we bought anything in Brazil although we never went to Brazil. Very nice. Took a look at paperwork and our van.
