Surprisingly busy for a Monday night in January. The developed campground is split between reservations and first-come and there were only 2 or 3 open first come sites left. Showers/restrooms are still being renovated but they have portable ones available. Playground for the kiddos. Not much else to do at the lake unless you bring a boat. Inexpensive compared to other campgrounds in the area.

Quiet and affordable campground near Carlsbad. Right now not really pretty: the land is bone dry and the lake at least half empty. Restrooms are under reconstruction. There's a container at the parking lot, for showers too. It's ok.

Nice stay, just as previously described, nice nights, peaceful mornings. We didn’t explore the lake because we mainly made the trip for Carlsbad Caverns.

Very windy! Wear supportive hikers on their trails because its rocky.

the rocky bay campground is a primitive campground for 8$. it's just grass and dust no more but you can use the shower at the limestone campground who are at 20min to walk or 3min in car.

Clean, cheap place for overnight camping. Close to Carlsbad NM.

Nice cheap great for overnight. Showers not the best but much better then no shower semi warm.

One of the worst state parks we stayed at. Facilities were all in disrepair. None of the women's showers worked. Two of four toilets broken. No toilet paper. Full trash cans. Dirty bathrooms. Men's showers barely worked.

I camp from my motorcycle Harley Street Glide and use state parks to keep cost down plus I love sleeping in my Hammock tent. Arrived here after they had closed and the park ranger was very nice and went back and opened up store so I could get a bag of ice. nice free hot showers. hung my hammock from shelter because there is not a lot of trees. cotton tail rabbits everywhere. Didn't hike the trails or visit Lake just a place to sleep and shower
