Description

Recommended.

price: prices differ depending on whether you camp or sleep in one of the buses or rent a house. remember how much hard work eliane and eduardo have and still are putting into this place. it is thanks to them that such places are preserved, so every penny is worthwhile!

What a magical place you won’t find anywhere else! This was one highlight of our trip.
They’ve built up an incredible oasis with lots of details and love in a spectacular landscape.
The people managing it are super lovely and incredible !
The three course menu which we didn’t expect in such a remote place was amazing!!!
You can either stay in tent, your own vehicle, in cabañas or in hospedaje in three beautifully restored rooms.
Every single pesos you spent in such a place is definitely worth it.
Highly recommended don’t miss it !!!

Wir waren eine Nacht im Wohnmobil hier. Mit einem tollen Abendessen incl. Campingplatz haben wir 20.000 ArgPeso bezahlt. Sehr nette Betreiber…

We spent one night in the motorhome here. With a great dinner incl. we paid 20,000 ArgPeso for the campsite. Very nice operators...

We stayed one night and had diner. Great food. Must do. Also watch the stars and milkyway at night. Amazing.
Stop there. Don't bother too much about 2000ARS per person. The location is worth it. January / February many flies but don't sting. We were told they are one in March due to tempurature.

Report Check-In

3000 pesos for two person for a place on a field. We left the place without sleeping there.

Report Check-In

This really is a mystic place!
So quiet, so many wild animals to see, just in front of the campground!
A perfect place for self- sufficient motorhomes.
There is a little shop where you can get almost everything you need!
Super friendly people!
We paid 1500 per night, 2 persons and motorhome, because we were self- sufficient.
Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

A great place for a night. Wonderful hosts and a great outlook over the bay. A short drive and 20 minute walk to the local sea lion / elephant seal colony. Highway 1 is in good condition both north and south of Cabo Raso

Report Check-In

A hidden treasure out of time...loveable.

Report Check-In

I was there, had a nice chat with Eliane. Everything is working as always. Accommodations are available. The sea lions are in pretty goog mood too...

Report Check-In

Really nice place on the middle of Patagonia. You can choose between different cabañas or a bus and for camping they also have different places. If you have a tent th y hav a few very nice and super sheltered places between some trees with fire pit and dry toilets. You hardly won't feel any wind at all! Ask the owners for the see lions and elephants. They are around 6km away (walking or you can drive a few km). It was amazing to see so many of them without nothing and nobody around! 900pp for camping. Make sure you have enough water and food with you. The water here is not drinkable and they only have a very small shop with some basic food but nothing fresh.

Report Check-In

A fascinating place with an unique atmosphere! If you camp here you shouldn‘t miss the really good food the family, who runs this place, cooks

Report Check-In

Nous avons passé la nuit sur la plage à côté du cimetière joli vue sur la baie. Nous avons payé 250 pesos par personne, aucun service mais super tranquille.

Report Check-In

le camping semble abandonné.
personne pour nous recevoir sauf deux chiens très gentils.
nous avons décidé de passé la nuit 500m plus loin sur la plage très calme.

Report Check-In

now 250pesos for camping its overpriced even if the location is nice.
water is salty, shower cost an extra 100pesos. pit toilet and of course no wifi no electricity.

sea lions are 7km away, possible to cycle there if your are on a bike. No sea elefants in april

Report Check-In

Wonderful family running an out of the way post. Not a fancy campground, but has a unique flair. If you are right on money and/or would rather free camp than support a family following their dreams, then I would not recommend you visit.

If, however, you enjoy supporting the dreams of others and want a unique experience, than I would recommend. Also, a huge sea wolf colony resides about 4km down the beach. Whether you stay or not, stop in for directions!

Report Check-In

We got there about 5pm and decided to don't stay. In our opinion it doesn't worth the ~60km gravel road, the city it's only one family's home.

Report Check-In

Too expensive. 400 for two. with just toilet. Very primitive breakfast for 200ars. Not recommended. Better stay on the beach not far away.

Report Check-In

The gps location was wrong, its here. Nice view, nice host!

Report Check-In

We could open our rooftent in front of his cabaña that was not occupied and had access to the shower and toilet. only hot water in the evening. We paid 400 for the 2 of us.

Report Check-In

Very friendy owner of this isolated camping. 150Ap seemed expenaive for no showers/light/electricity and only dry toilet. indeed seema more like a wild camping you need to pay for. However the post-apocaliptic looking shelter (bunker) with basic cooking utilities, table, chairs and firepit made it worth the money. Tip: bring candles or a light if you do not want to light the firepit.

Report Check-In

Best stay for us so far. Everything is extremely clean and the people are very friendly. The hot shower is made with fire and was a pleasure. The location is lonely and a lot to explore close by.

Report Check-In

Nice place and nice owner who cooked for us delicious gnocchis and meat and salad. We saw a lot of sea lions and elefants after walking 5 km on the beach.

Report Check-In

Rocked up as the sun was going down and didnt really have a plan. Cabo Raso, at this time of year anyway, is a one man town...but not even a town. a house. a one man house. but that man is awesome, friendly, cooks a fantastic steak and it cost me 160 to use the facilities and park on the only bit of wind-breakage that I saw for the last 60kms! worth a visit, perhaps without the massive winds but a lovely spot never the less.

Report Check-In

The scenery is really nice, but if you have a motorhome or van we felt is not really worth paying the 300 $AR they ask for as there is no water, shower has to be paid extra and one dry toilet.
It is like free camping being paid for.
It might be different if you are with a tent and use the bunker as shelter.

Report Check-In

A magnificent place if you like total silence, only the sea. I was welcomed like an old friend . Elina didn’t know I was coming but gave me an incredibly good three course dinner with nice wine.It will be difficult to leave.
Warm shower when you request it. Different kinds of accommodation available at very moderate prices.

Report Check-In

Incredible beautiful place with an old bunker, busses you can sleep in and penguins hunting at the beach. super friendly owners!

Report Check-In

Really nice place, worth a visit. Friendly owner, he cooked very good. Place to relax and the beach in front.

Report Check-In

Absolutly worth to go. Eduardo and his family made a hidden paradise. We spent 3 days with our kids, just amazing!

Report Check-In

House, ran by a very kind lady, with several options in and around her house to camp or to stay as a guest.
Option 1: camping behind a couple of trees or next to a bunker with some amenities - 100 pesos pp
Option 2: sleep in old bus, next to bunker, 5 beds in bus - 200 pesos pp
Option 3: 'the ranch'. Small house with 2 rooms: one for living and one with 5 bunks - 250 pesos pp
Option 4: little studio with a double bed - 350 pesos pp
Option 5: guest in the house including breakfast and meal - 700 pesos pp.

We stayed here as shelter for the wind and we were running out of options, otherwise we would not have spent this kind of money here.

the short version: cabo raso is pure magic!

once an inhabited village, it was abandoned when the newly (and further inland) built ruta 3 left cabo raso cut off from the main transport axis. a wonderful argentinebd couple, eliane and eduardo, have been rebuilding this place during the last ten years cleaning the beach and rebuilding some of the old houses. thanks to them, you now have the option to camp here, to sleep in one of the old buses they have transformed into super cozy sleeping options or even rent one of the houses. you will notice eliane's and eduardo's love and attention to details everywhere. they also prepare delicious food - by far the best we've had in argentine. and the nature in cabo raso is just breathtaking. you can walk for miles all by yourself, find colonies of sea lions, an old shipwreck, natural swimming pools during low tide, watch whales (if you're there during the right season) and - if you're lucky - apparently surf one of argentine's best waves.
we stayed in cabo raso much longer than planned and looking back, we should have stayed even longer. give cabo raso time, and you'll be able to discover a really special place.

Report Check-In

A beautifully placed campground at the shore with cabanas and loberia (7km walk, sealions, elefants). Eduardo, the enthusiastic owner, cooks delicious meals (e.g. lomo de guanaco) and is very helpfull and friendly.

Report Check-In

Estancias before and behind the oficial campground Cabo Raso don't allow camping!

Report Check-In

A few km south of this Point you find some houses: this is Cabo Raso. A very wonderful Family lives here which takes care of this place. You can camp here right next to the sea and they will help you out with water and everything you need. You have an ecological toilet and there's even a small shop. The views are stunning and there's a shipwreck you can visit. If you wonder whether you should take the gravel road to get here: do it! We ended up staying two Nights instead of one because we absolutely loved it. Price is 70 Pesos per Person per night but it's for a good cause and absolutely worth it! They even have rooms you could rent (the mother is an interior Designer which you can see). Recommended!
