We stayed here two days very lovely no one bothered us. Both nights some people with car trouble showed up and their cars wouldn’t start besides that noise that sounds of the waves are nice. No bathroom and the ones mentioned on the sign “bathrooms are a half mile south” are closed.

Report Check-In

Such a beautiful spot. No one bothered us but no cell reception.

Report Check-In

Amazing place to stay. Tons of spots. Quiet. Beach. Best spot

Report Check-In

as mentioned in all the previous comments. great place to stay. still free, no signs

Report Check-In

Stayed here for a few nights. No one bothered me.

Report Check-In

Beautiful sunset at the beach. Free to stay. Few others in the parking lot on a Monday night.

Report Check-In

A popular day use area, but stays pretty chill. A couple vans and some car campers. Under the bridge into the bushes is a nice secluded area for those of us without toilet facilities in our rigs. Just pack out your tp ya monsters.

Report Check-In

As great as everyone reported. Not crowded at all on a Tuesday, easy to find a spot- did not fill up.

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night. Lot completely full by 8pm, half empty by 8am (local rock climbers?). Quiet considering how full the parking lot is. Bigger RV pulled in and took up 1/4 of the small lot. (We have a small van and try to park to be considerate of others). Please pack out your garbage if the bin is full!!!

Report Check-In

Amazing overnight spot! We were going to find somewhere with Wi-Fi in Klamath but didn’t love those spots so decided to check this out. We got there just before 7, there were quite a few other people already there and it filled up just after. Amazing sunset right over the ocean and nice beach to walk our pup along. Our friendly neighbor gave us half a watermelon too! Great spot overall!

Report Check-In

This is the first IOverlander site we every stayed at, so we were a bit nervous at first. There were about 10 other vans there, and a few more cars showed to sleep at night. Chatted with a few people that stayed there.
This is a GREAT area with million $ views. You're right on the beach on a parking lot. There are a few tables on the beach to have a picnic. You could walk to the ocean. No bathrooms. Very few cars driving by at night. Felt very safe. No "no" signs in parking area.
Would stay here again in a heart beat! :)

Report Check-In

Amazing protected pull off from 101. right by the water stayed here a night in my honda accord and my mother who was traveling with me set up a tent on the beach with no issues. super safe lots of other vans and campers. plan to get in early. lot filled up by 7 or 8 pm. amazing sunset.

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot. Lots of vans, class C's and the like here. Crowd definitely picked up a little on the weekends. Incredible sport climbing on the sea-cliffs only 10 minute walk away.

Report Check-In

Lives up to the hype! Good amount of parking space, and really nice beach. Great views

Report Check-In

What a great place to spend the night. amazing view. Small put good. No cell service with Verizon.

Report Check-In

What a lovely spot! I snagged a spot between two other vans and there were at least 7 of us staying the night. I got there about 5pm and left about 11am the following morning. This is what the dream is all about.

Report Check-In

Pulled up to this spot around 4. Absolutely beautiful. Waves crashing, will lull you to sleep faster than a bottle of Jack. Kick back, relax, and watch the sunset with some friendly fellow boondockers.

Best spot I have ever stayed at.

Report Check-In

awesome place. a motorcyclist could walk to beach with tent, it would work.

Report Check-In

i’ve never seen so many reviews for a spot on ioverlander—skeptical at first, because it seems too good to be true, we camped here two nights with no issues, along with a few other rigs (met some really nice folks)! arrived after 6pm and was able to snag a spot on a sunday night in june. oceanfront views, with trash cans available, as well as 2 picnic tables and two fire pits on the beach! help keep this amazing place available by picking up any trash you see and respecting the sea life—sadly saw people picking starfish out of the water and walking them back to their car :( i recommend checking out the starfish at low tide, but leave them be! generally busy during the day, but quieted down after dark. no at&t or verizon.

Report Check-In

beautiful place to stop overnight, however no cell service. 3 RVs here tonight.

Report Check-In

very lovely ocean waves. large parking lot. lots of room to park. Tonight there are 4 campers . several cars that hikers left for their trek.

Report Check-In

Wonderful spot off 101 with beach access. This is a parking lot right down off the highway, great alternative to the other pull offs. A couple other RVs came late and left early. No T-Mobile coverage.

Report Check-In

Parking lot off of highway 101. You'll find many pullouts along the highway and you'll want to stop at every one. This one is a good size and had room for our van and four others. We opted for this spot because it was an actual lot ad had beach access.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Stayed two nights and had a campfire with two friendly Germans and a cool Canadian lady.
Both federal and state park police rolled in about 10 am, dealt with some unrelated issue, and left without any interaction.

Take very good care of this place, because it's one of the very last of its kind.

Report Check-In

Arrived 7PM on a Thursday, not a spot left. Chock full of vans and campers. Drove back to Crescent City to try my luck at the Home Depot

Report Check-In

This spot is beautiful! I would recommend stopping in, even if you aren't going to stay the night. I was there on Halloween with around a dozen other cars, vans, and RVs, with room for maybe a few more. The beach was fun to walk around on, though not very long, and I saw otters under the bridge. Highway noise isn't too bad. There's two fire pits. No toilets, but bathrooms half a mile up the road.

Report Check-In

Great spot, although foggy at this time of the year. However, there's used toilet paper everywhere, and it smells pee close to the parking. Seriously people, just go a bit farther to do your business, and throw your toilet paper to the trash - the trash bins are here!

Report Check-In

I know there are already a billion reviews on this place, and this review might seem redundant but holy cow we loved this stop off.
We have spent the night many places around the country and in Northern California, this is the closest you’ll get to driving right onto the beach to camp.
There are no signs anywhere, there are trash cans, a fire ring and picnic area.
Did I mention you are practically right on the beach? Ocean sounds drown out any street noise- a great stop for the night. Our dog loves it here too.

Report Check-In

Really nice beach area with picnic tables. Pulled in around 8:30 pm, a few other vans here with room for more. Safe clean spot.

Report Check-In

Great spot right by the beach. Beautiful, beautiful views. Lots of others staying here. 2 picnic tables and fire rings, but no bathrooms. Seems like the nicest free spot in the area.

Report Check-In

AMAZING ❤️ we stayed two nights with amazing sunsets and seals

Report Check-In

Amazing spot right by the ocean! stayed for one night with a couple other campers there. some road noise but its worth it. no bathrooms.

Report Check-In

I can recomend this place very much. We stayed there for one night with our van. Very busy parking lot that night. But thats probably because everbody wanted the enjoy the lovely view. Go there!

We saw dolphins the next day as well!

Report Check-In

Excellent spot on the coast! Seems like most other places along the 101 have been shut down recently, but this place is still good! About 8 other vans/rvs with us for the night. Park on the beach side to try and block out the traffic noise with the waves, works pretty well. Two fire pits and two picnic tables, perfect for cooking and chilling.

Report Check-In

Exactly as described, an overnight friendly lot with picnic benches, fire pits, fellow campers, and great views

Report Check-In

Very nice place, we even saw daulpins!! Nice climbing walls by the beach too!
We could fall asleep on the sound of the waves. Noisy traffic in the morning... But still a great place.

Report Check-In

Nice spot to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Bathrooms just half a mile down the road. Even after 11 pm there were quite a few cars driving on the road still, so there's definitely some road noise.

Report Check-In

Clean! Cool views, pretty sunset, lots of vans and smaller big rigs. Would stay again, but would prefer a actual campground over a parking lot, but terrific nights stay!

Report Check-In

Nice spot to spend the evening and night. Room for a dozen cars or so. Close together. Highway is close so some noise.

Ocean view is nice.

Almost no Verizon and no AT&T signal. But Starlink works great in this location.

Report Check-In

As described. We even put up a tent here for a night, and someone else did too. No one disturbed us and it was pretty quiet considering it is next to the 101. No cell service.

Report Check-In

Nice parking lot, several other campers here. Right between the beach and highway, which is a bit noisy. Enjoyed a sunset with dinner right on the beach!

Report Check-In

Stayed one night in our 19 foot van. Several other cars/vans were here too. Small parking lot right off Highway 1. Some road noise. Beautiful beach sunset. During the day until sunset there were a lot of people enjoying the area. At night very peaceful.

Report Check-In

Small T-shaped parking lot. The description as big-rig friendly is only accurate if you consider an extended van as a big rig. You don't want to pull in here with a trailer.

Report Check-In

Very nice and level spot. Road very close and can be noisy. Nice beach. No service with t-mobile.
Bm.aroundtheworld from Switzerland

Report Check-In

Stayed a night and met some fellow travelers! It's a fairly busy spot until the sun goes down, but everyone we met was friendly and it was a fine place to stay overnight. There are also some great fire pits and no "no" signs. Go for it!

Report Check-In

no signs about no camping. great view. we were the only ones there. great spot to stay the night! there are bathrooms a minute or so drive south.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place to wake up to.
Stayed here one night and I wasn't the only one. Not too noisy and nobody came to tell us to leave. Didn't see any signs either.

Report Check-In

Previous check-in is incorrect. There are no signs anywhere whatsoever. I and another van stayed the night with no problems.

Report Check-In

Sorry to report it seems the authorities have caught on. Entrance is clearly marked No Camping and “Closed from Sunset to Sunrise.”

Report Check-In

Great quiet park . Big rig friendly, great view ocean is really beautiful. No bathrooms seems to be the reason people leave

Report Check-In

Awesome place to spend the night! Watched the sunset over the waves and then settled in for some reading in our van. Quiet, about 4 other vehicles when we woke up and got on the road again.

Report Check-In

We prius camped here. There was one other car with a couple tent camping, a truck with a camper, and an RV on the other side of the lot. Despite being directly off the highway, it wasn’t too loud. The ocean was the perfect amount of white noise. Bathrooms and some great trails are located 1/2 mile south on the 101. Takes only minutes to get to. A family came to the beach for a while then left but everything quieted down before midnight. People pulled in early to take pictures of the beach- it’s beautiful. I would totally stay here again. I loved this spot.

Report Check-In

At the moment it’s 10:46 PM, one tent towards the bridge with 2 humans and a large canine, and to our left are 3 others enjoying the same crashing waves, the occasional vehicle passing by, and start stars ✨ that twinkle in a typical PNW fashion. Sunset you ask? Amazing. Locals with tiny tots and headlamps touching starfish until 10 PM?... you got it. Respectful neighbors? It’s sure here this evening. Peace? Absolutely.

Safe. Clean. Happy. Thank you rangers of California for making this happen. Let’s all contribute to this place so it stays open for a long time to come.

Report Check-In

Great overnight spot in a small seaside lot perfect for smaller rigs, campers, vans. Beautiful views and ocean sounds for sleeping. No verizon or Tmobile.

Report Check-In

An ok spot, definitely more van friendly. We arrived around 7pm to 3-4 vans/trucks and by 9pm the lot was packed with buses, vans and cars (10+). There was enough room to park our 24ft class C with no issues. We ran our generator when we arrived for about 10 minutes to charge our devices and had a local van ask us to shut down because of the noise (mind you this spot is right off of 101 with highway noise).. We shut down and continued to have another local from further down stand in front of our rig and glare at us for 10-15 minutes. We got very unwelcome vibes from the locals parked here. Ended up moving across the lot to get level (in front of where we were previously parked against the rock wall) and had those same vans and a car camper turn on their headlights and shine flashlights at us until 11pm lighting up the inside of our rig. We opened our windows for airflow and to listen to the ocean and immediately had smoke roll in from the same group of locals vans. Cars driving on 101 blew their horns all night as well. We left at 5am after a crappy night of sleep. Maybe we just had a bad crowd but I wouldn’t recommend this spot unless you are a heavy sleeper. No signal for AT&T or TMobile. Beach is great if you stay in front of the parking lot, lots of trash and graffiti on the right side under the bridge.

Report Check-In

Got here late with about a dozen other vans and probably some locals. For what it is, it’s amazing.

Report Check-In

This spot is absolutely beautiful. Barely any traffic noise and the waves drown out almost everything anyway. Stayed overnight and plan to head back soon when passing through again.

Report Check-In

Pros: What a great spot! Watched the sunset from the back of my Subaru, saw some seals playing in the surf and woke up to a quiet morning walk on the beach
Cons: no privacy and the parking lot was full so get here early. The surf drowns out the highway noise if you snag an oceanside spot but I could see how some of the spaces can get loud. There is a gnarly drop off in the cement on the left hand side that rocked a few cars so be wary

Report Check-In

Amazing views. Nice and quiet even though there were 6 other vans when we arrived.

Report Check-In

Totally awesome spot. Ended up staying two nights, shared the lot with 6-8 other vehicles each night. The waves kinda drown out the 101 noise. Highly recommend.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot. Parking lot with couple fire pits and picnic table.

Report Check-In

Beautiful !!! Such a gem at redwoods overnight ❤️

Report Check-In

so much bigger than we thought, brought our 40' skoolie, parked along wall. No Tmobile service

Report Check-In

Crowded. Parking leveled just on the beach. Road near. Good view. Free.

Report Check-In

One of a few good spots along this section of coast, this spot fills up so don’t show up too late. we saw some vans parked at another spot south of here so that seems fair game too. Watch out for the construction closures north of here, they close the road for multiple hours.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot on the beach. Lots of road noise though.

Report Check-In

Traveled from Texas... by far our favorite place, got there a little early in order to spend time on the beach eat and watch the sunset... boondocking at its finest, there were other rvs and car campers, all of whom were friendly and polite... had coffee, watch the sea otter pups play, and stayed till nearly 9am, very quiet restful and peaceful... honestly could have stayed longer!!

Report Check-In

Great spot, close to the freeway but also very close to the waves and it drowns out any noise. got my 40 foot skoolie with bad clearance in here without issue. just big enough to park a big rig against the back without issue.

Report Check-In

Stayed the night-no one else, no rain, great spot as always.

Report Check-In

We are here with 1 other van. Right off the highway so loud until later at night, but it is right on the beach and beautiful. Great spot in Redwoods. No service

Report Check-In

11/22/2020 came in at 9 PM with my truck and teardrop trailer. There were already three vehicles parked but I had no problems finding a spot for the night. It is as described and I would come again.

Report Check-In

I really love this spot! Came here for sunset and just stayed the night. Amazing views. 4 other people were here sleeping in their cars or vans. The highway is nearby but the noise wasn’t bad. I felt safe. In the middle of the night the moon hung over the ocean and it was beautiful.

Report Check-In

Great spot nice and quiet right on the beach.

Report Check-In

Nice paved pull-off on the beach with lots of room. There were about 5-6 other vans there with us overnight. Road noise was minimal over night. Toilets located 1/2 mile south at the next pull out. Lots of people at the beach with their dogs during daylight hours. Nice safe place to spend the night.

Report Check-In

Parking lots on the beach that you can stay overnight in are hard to come by so this was great! Only one other person was tent camping when we pulled in - we were the only van in a parking lot that could easily fit 10+ vehicles.

Report Check-In

Amazing place. One of my favorite places I have stayed. There were tons of other van lifers parked over night both in the parking lot which was full to the brim and on the above highway pullout. Trash cans available, two fire pits and two picnic tables and nearby rock climbing. We also saw people sleeping in tents on the beach.

Report Check-In

Great place for campervan. Had few other vans for the night. Subset was great and the beach is awesome.

Report Check-In

As described. Several other campers, also some tents on the beach. Could hear Highway noise and the ocean.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot and popular, there were at least seven other cars/campers parked here overnight. There are trash bins but no toilets, one is half a mile south. Amazing sunset! People set up tents camping on the beach. Busy during the day, walk further down to the left during low tides you can see some starfish and mussels.

Report Check-In

Very popular, camped overnight with several other campers/vans. It’s awesome to be so close to the water to hear the crashing waves, but the traffic that passes is loud as well. Overall good for the night but not long term, but that’s not what this area is for anyway.

Report Check-In

beautiful place to sleep! 1/2 mile south there are clean bathrooms. So nice to be able to sleep right on the beach, that's a rare thing in California!

Report Check-In

While running out of light and overnight options in the Klamath, CA area we happened to drive by this beach parking lot. It was an awesome spot to people watch families lighting fireworks as the sun set. It’s rare to find beach parking that allows for overnight but iOverlander confirmed it wouldn’t be a problem and we confirmed it still was. We had the best sleep of our trip to the sound of waves crashing 30ft away and our propex heater to keep toasty. Rangers were active keeping the area clean and open and didn’t seem to mind all the overnight vehicles. No AT&T cell service even with cell booster.

Report Check-In

Sadly we got moved on by either a ranger or deputy. She was very pleasant but we had to move along. Apparently the signs had been removed but we couldn’t overnight there.

Report Check-In

We were the only ones parked here all night. There is awesome beach access, picnic tables, fire pits and trash cans too! We really enjoyed the night with the waves crashing all night.

Report Check-In

This place was amazing we got here when it was dark so didn’t know how amazing until the morning but if it wasn’t for the rain we would have stayed till the afternoon! We where the only van parked all night

Report Check-In

amazing spot. parking lot on the beach l. multiple vehicles stayed overnight. we stayed 2 nights. (left during day in between). had a fire on the beach.

Report Check-In

Nice parking lot right at the beach. Had a good sleep here. Fantastic view. You almost won't hear any traffic noise because of the ocean.

Report Check-In

Great spot right along Highway 101. Parking lot just off the road but the road is fairly quiet at night and the waves drown out other noise. We spent one night here with about 7 other vans. Several parked sideways taking up more spots than needed. No Verizon service here FYI.

Report Check-In

Great location, close to 101 so there is some road noise, but the sunset is beautiful and you can’t beat the Pacific coast for sunsets!

Report Check-In

Pretty cool spot at the beach.
Garbage cans. Lots of fire wood. No signs at all. Swimming is possible. When you go to the right to that big rocks it‘s amazing for some climbing! Lots of flies here...

Report Check-In

Just as described. Paved lot next to beach with tables and fire pits. Coastal trail access. Very little noise from 101 at night. Beautiful sunset. Toilets available 1/2 mile south.

Report Check-In

We found this without the app. 7 vanlife vans parked overnight. Beautiful spot. No restrooms or water. Recycling. No problem from rangers. Two fire pits and a bench. The waves are loud and cover up the sound of traffic.

Report Check-In

Awesome spot with beach view, few other vanlifers slept here too.

We did a fire on the beach and people came to enjoy it with us, nice time with good people!

Quiet during the night even if near from the highway it haven’t bother us at all

Report Check-In

Just about perfect! On the beach, no “no” signs, level, great for tide pool looking, lots of other fine folks sharing this space. Issues; no official bathroom (& no real private space) & 101 traffic.

Report Check-In

Nice spot park facing the ocean got quite after 11 pm, we saw the rangers but no issues.

Report Check-In

Really beautiful place to stay the night. We didn’t see any no overnight parking signs. There is a fire pit and picnic table too.

Report Check-In

Nice, clean beach with fire pits. No one bothered us but did have some heavy traffic going past all night. Oh, and a lady in her van driving in and out of the park and playing the bongo drums till late at night. Otherwise, solid place to sleep for the night.

Report Check-In

We pulled in after dark and had the parking lot to ourselves. No one bothered us despite “no overnight parking/camping” signs posted. No bathrooms or water. No shelter and definitely visible from the road. I expect the fact that it was December and storming heavily played a roll in why no one bothered us.

Report Check-In

beautiful view of the ocean. no one bothered us. highly recommend.

Report Check-In
