Something not right?

Description

Free overnight parking across the street from the cafe. Lots of space, even on weekends to park our van. Good view of lake, no one bothered us, and plenty of restaurants and hotels nearby for bathroom and WiFi use. Police drive by a couple times a night but no one ever asked us anything or bothered us.

Assim ele olham tb e podíamos dormir e deixar a kombi sozinha tranquilo.

We spent some days here with other VW Kombi. During the weekend is loud but during the week is calm. Some people around.

Report Check-In

We slept one night almost in front of the door and was great. Busy and noisy till 11 pm. Then really quiet.
The second night we slept in front of the hotel some meters back in front of the lake, because a teenager came to us to ask for money to park there. We refused and reversed to the hotel. We used the bathroom of the hotel.

Be aware: A man who worked at the white/gated building kindly offered a shower to my boy friend and I though only allowed 1 person at a time. Unfortunately, it was me who went first and he insisted on us showering together. I called for my boy friend and he walked me back to the gate - he was not threatening other than the inappropriate behavior.

Other than this situation (which could’ve been avoided), camping next to the lake was fairly private & we had no issues. Police patrolled by at night. WiFi password is still the same.

The Best place to stay in night in Flores, quietly and securit.

Report Check-In

Good place to stay in on isla Flores, bit noise in the early morning ~5pm probably because some bars where closing.

Report Check-In

Good spot provided there is no event at the "Salon Social". There was the anniversary of a local school yesterday night with hundreds of students and loud music til midnight and then noise from the guys dismantling the stage for 2 more hours banging stuff. Really hot by day at this time of the year (37°C) but really nice by night from 2/3am (23°C) and there is a nice breeze from the lake so you can sleep with your windows open. NB. this is a spot where people come to pee by night but the restaurant "Raices" let us use their restrooms multiple times at no cost. Police patrolling and never paid attention to us, locals said it is safe here and it felt like it. (1h20 from Tilkal with good road conditions except for few kms where they were reconstructing the road). ROAD INFO SOUTHBOUND: It took us 1h30 to reach balneario near raxruha and another 4h to reach Lanquin to visit Semuc Champey from here via Coban. It's all paved besides the last 12km which is a dirt road but doable by any 2WD rig provided you aren't too heavy as it gets real steep in some parts.

Report Check-In
