UPDATE 1/18/23 - new town regulation: camping on the square no longer allowed.
Place recommended as safe by a security patrol. at the plaza. very quiet and just near the mission. restaurant and shops all around
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We were unsure about staying on the square because we like to support the local campgrounds but planned on staying the night after visiting the town in the late afternoon/early evening. Around 7:30 pm a very nice policeman told us that camping wasn’t allowed on the square anymore and it was a new regulation. He told us that we could camp at the football field about 200 m outside of town which we didn’t do bc it was dark and we missed it. Ended up staying at El Padrino. The town itself is very cute. Mission is beautiful. Can hike up the hill above town and take in the view especially at sunset. Nice town to walk around in. Did not encounter any aggressive dogs so good to walk your dog around. Residents were all very nice and helpful when we were trying to find the trail to the top of the hill. Lots of little shops and restaurants on the square. Worth a visit.
Report Check-InTuesday day/night - parked in the square about 4pm to 8am no one bothered us. it was noisy from the restaurant behind us until about 10/11pm then about midnight dogs started barking and one barked for a while. more barking throughout the night. that sweep the square in the morning so you can hear that. few dogs/cats roaming around but all seemed friendly. overall a nice place to stop and check out the mission and the cute little town. the people are very welcoming.
Report Check-InThis was our first street parking in Baja. Felt safe. Walkable to restaurants and shops. Quite a bit of dogs barking at night, but I can’t complain. It’s their town and I slept here for free. Good for a night!
Report Check-InNice town square. There's a bathroom you can use in the tienda beside Victor's restaurant (10 pesos). We enjoyed our time here and would stop again if we needed to sleep in the area. There was a very barky dog beside our van that barked late into the night but it ran away eventually.
Report Check-InFor big rigs to tiny the places and to go,you do not feel well with the trees in this small area, we parked bevor plaza on a field, we cant recommended the rancho restaurant, may be to many tourist, the food is not original mex, enchilada 150 Pesos, the wifi is worse
Report Check-InCurrently 4:45pm local time on a Friday. Restaurants are open. Ate tostitos at Bar Rancho Grande and they were delicious. Been parked here since 2pm and everything is fine.
Good connection at 3 bars with LTE.
Peaceful esquina del pueblo… except I think Sunday mornings going to be an early awakening.
Report Check-InLoved staying here. Reminded me more of mainland Mexico. Enjoyed hanging on the square, eating at Victor’s, and visiting the shops. A couple of other RVs there for the night as well.
Report Check-InSweet, quiet town and great place to overnight. The main restaurant was closed, and another did not have functioning wifi. Enjoy a date shake at the ice cream place and walk the mission garden!
Report Check-InHad Guacamole and a cerveza at Rancho grande. A few days back we had shrimp cocktail, fish filet and tortilla soup. It’s sall been great. Wifi works across from the restaurant. Peaceful and safe feeling. Love camping on the plaza!!!
Report Check-InThe town square. Had wonderful grilled shrimp here at Restaurant Bar Rancho Grande. Wifi was good. Parked next to the restaurant and used wifi inside my van. Stayed overnight in the same parking spot. Quiet. I want to rate this five stars but can't seem to input it.

Report Check-InA very beautiful, clean place to park. Met some nice dogs and one cutie kitten. Old gringo music kept me up till midnight but I’m not complaining. Woke up to the sweepers cleaning up leaves in the morning.
Lots of trash bins to use.
Someone parked here with the largest fifth wheel I have ever seen, so you can get away with a lot.
Report Check-InNice place in the center of this pretty town. You get to see all the life in town, there are toilets in the shop at 5 pesos, hotdogs in the corner. But in a sunday all that life means a lot of music and noise...so, if you want to go to sleep early, this is not your place.
Report Check-InNice small town plaza on a Sunday night. Asked the police and they said no problem. Restaurants open until 9pm. We parked behind the ‘stage’ to be off main roads. Some electrical outlets in the plaza...
Report Check-InWe slept here at la plaza on Saturday and we didn't sleep quite well until 2am as there were some cars with loud music and making kind of racing. After it was quiet and fine.
