South Africa
Nice quiet campsite which belongs to the hotel nearby. If you are lucky (in low season) you may get one of the places at the lagoon and enjoy the view on the Beach, which is rather close. Friendly staff, which did not mind that we brought our dog with us. Not a problem in low season: Please look after the poo ...
If you do not want to cook / braai, you can eat in the restaurant of the hotel, which provides a nice view of the sea from the terrace. 380 ZAR per site in low season.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
As good as already described. For additional information: in the hotel (where you check in) you can buy for 30 Rand a 12 hours Wifi Pass for the campsite. Works fine.
Report Check-InGreat spot with a beautiful beach. Checking at the hotel up the road. Ablution block is immaculate. R415 for the night.
Report Check-InThis is 1st class, beautiful clean marble top bathroom. Rate 380. Will recommend it.
Report Check-InThe low season price is now ZAR 380 per site.
In high season (e.g Eastern holidays, ans school holiday, etc) they almost double the price to ZAR 750.
Very nice campsite. Beautiful ablutions. We stayed 2 nights @ R380 per night for up to 4 people. Then we moved to double mouth just down the road. A bit more quiet and in nature.
Report Check-InLovely campsite next to the river with a sea view too. It was a bit windy but the wind calmed down at sunset. The ablutions are newly renovated and lovely. We paid R750 for two nights per site.
Report Check-InAs described by others. We had Campsite 7 with a view over the river and the sea. We paid R320 pn per site. The ablutions are new and clean. The laundry and scullery also clean and neat.
You pay at the hotel reception.
The place has had a makeover with brand new ablutions & a new price. 350R per site. Power, water, braai stations at most site. Wifi is 30R/ 12hrs. It says "no dogs" but there were probably 10 here. Place is nice, if you want a riverside spot, call & book ahead at the hotel. Only one small store in town, bring what you need!
Report Check-Inopen, and actually busy, while nobody stayed at the Double Mouth. As described. Currently 350R per site with up to 4 people.
Report Check-InNice setting next to the estuary. Ablution a bit old but clean. We paid low season 200 Rand per site. Has power. Check in is in the Morgan Bay Hotel which also has good food.
Report Check-InWe LOVED IT HERE. It was very relaxing. Not expensive. It is dog friendly! We enjoyed walking on the beach daily and doing a mild hike up the nearby mountains! Morgan bay is so beautiful. Wild camping in a van is totally do able here too.
Report Check-In660 Rand per stand in high season. Close to very nice beach, real holiday feeling!
Report Check-InVery nice grassy campground with beautiful views of the beach and lagoon. Electricity and water at thr sites. Ablutions clean but needs updating. Laundry area and also area to wash dishes. Morgan Bay is a beautiful little town and a must see. Ate lunch at the Mitford Hotel and it was delicious. R290 per campsite in off season.
