Nice and very calm place for a night. Just 3 km gravel road from Mex 1.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
The road in is pretty bumpy. There were few cars that passed down the road throughout the night. Quiet and clean overall.
Report Check-InFlat, fairly open space. Plenty of room for our 4 rigs. Another RV near, but not too close. Chilly at night, warm/hot during the day. Coyote droppings around, heard them at night, but they did not come into camp. Spot is close to main road, but did not notice any traffic at night.
Report Check-InEasy access off street, appropriate for trailers with easy turn around. Little trash. Even tucked it’s in view of road. More traffic than expected based on state of road, washboard. Beautiful sunset.
Report Check-InThis ain't going to make your Instagram page, but it's a quiet flat place to crash. I'd be careful driving out into this if it's muddy, but if it's dry it's really easy with two wheel drive. great internet reception.
Report Check-Inno point to come all the way here.nothing special and visible from the road.the other spot at beginning of the road has more trees and possibly better privacy.save some washboard!
Report Check-InWe had planned to drive 2 hours further north but one of the vans had engine trouble so we decided to camp here instead. 3G cell signal on TELCEL. Not much to say, definitely not a super nice campsite relative to the other 25 or so that we’ve seen in Baja, but it’s flat and quiet.
Report Check-InTrès bonne place pour nous , possible même avec une remorque. Telcel ok
Report Check-InIn the night it started to rain heavily. In the morning the whole area was covered with 5 cm of water, looked like a lake. We got stuck in the mud 4 times, had to use 4x4, low pressured tires, sandplates and shovel to get out. An hour heavy work combined with a good deal of luck did the thing.
BEWARE DURING WET WHEATHER.
We had it to ourselves. Place is as described with a beautiful sunset and rise. Good stargazing too.
Report Check-InWe stayed there on our way to La Paz. Really nice ´cause it’s quite different the most spot along the coast we has before.
Quiet and flat!
Report Check-Inas the previous camper posted, cooling down in the middle of summer is 'hard to get' but this place was amazing - the temperature dropped significantly right after sunset. It was a bit windy during both day and night, but that's what you expect on the prairie like that. Looks like it's used a lot, but no trash around - please, try to keep it that way
Report Check-InWe spent 2 cold nights here (in the middle of summer- what a luxury!) enjoying the absolute silence, the stars, and being just for ourselves.
During the day it can get quite hot, when in direct sunlight, but perfect in the shade of our awning and the breeze of the wind.
Very recommended!!
Halfway between Loreto and La Paz. Dusty desert. Good for one night. We were alone. Once you're in, choose the left hand side : wider, cleaner, more spots.
Traffic review : one vehicle at 4:50pm, 6:23pm and 7:30pm. More traffic in the morning.
Report Check-InGreat place to spend the night. Super quiet, another camper was there, friendly guy.
Bunch of firewood, and we had a moon eclipse !!
Overnight parking along the dirt road to Cancun 3 km west of Mex 1. The campsite is visible from the road, but only one car passed by at 6 pm. Not a nice place but ok for one night along this not very scenic stretch of Baja California Sur.
Report Check-Invery quiet at night as stated. a few cars before dark and then they started again in the morning early. Maybe 10 cars in 13 hours. There were 2 others there but plenty of room for us all to spread out. We had 4G cell signal. considering the looks of the RV parks in town and the cost and the fact it was getting late, this was a perfect find.
Report Check-Inquiet place to stay in the desert. not amazing but good for a night.
2 other vans staying here tonight so it is popular
Follow up to yesterday’s report: plenty of spots other than the ‘garbage section”. And yes the little burrs are still here but windswept to the side at the moment Great desert walk on the cattle/animal trails. Saw 2 big hares/rabbits. Dead quiet. Only one car went past on the road just before dark. Nothing yet as of 8:00 AM
Report Check-InFlat, calm and quiet. In fact, after days with loud ocean surf are both impressed by the intensity of the quiet!
All descriptions accurate — altho it is sooooo dry that maybe that’s why there are no little “sea urchin” pokey burrs here. Dog is out exploring now.
Ok for a quiet night, coming from Loreto and didn’t want to spend extra time in La Paz where the options seem sketchy. A bit of trash about but have seen worse. Dog owners beware, lots of spiky things on the ground. 3 bars 3G telcel (t mobile) coverage.
Report Check-InNice and quiet. a few possible parking spots, we shared it with one other camper. visible from the dirt road but not many cars passed by.
Report Check-InNice and very calm place for a night. Just 3 km gravel road from Mex 1.
