Very nice and free hike. Prettier than any hike in the Tierra del Fuego park imo. Mostly flat. Very pretty lake and surroundings.

Really nice laguna with epic mountains in the background. Hike time of 4 hours is probably meant for old / non-sporty people. We did roundtrip with photo breaks in 1h20min with fast pace and a little running in between.

Good hike, a bit crowded but we started at 4pm and only saw a lot of people coming down, at the top it was kinda quiet. Nice view, beautiful and easy hike, and must the weather be with you :)

Report Check-In

Start the hike early around 7-8am and you will be alone. And definitely wear some hiking boots because it’s really muddy (even with the sidewalk). The trail is almost all flat except some part in the forest.

Report Check-In

Can get very crowded, best to start early.

Great hike! They’ve installed several new boardwalks, so mud is no longer much of an issue. Mostly flat, with only a short section of a moderately uphill hike in the middle. Great scenery through the forest and along the river. It took us 70 minutes to get to the lake, then we spent about 45 minutes casually walking around the perimeter of the lake, and another 70 minutes back to the parking lot.
According to the info sign at the start of the hike today, dogs ARE allowed!

car park at the start of the walk to Laguna Esmeralda. the round trip is estimated at 5 hours, we did it in 3h30 with children. you can enjoy the beach at the edge of the lagoon, very touristy. on the way we see a beaver dam. the lagoon has a beautiful light green color.

the walk is muddy, but not really muddy. we did it after two days of rain and walked there with our normal sneakers.no problem because there are stones or would wherever needed to cross the muddy parts. as it was the first nice day it was really crowded

We really enjoyed the hike next to the beautiful river up to the lake! just really muddy in between, keep you eyes open for stones or wood to pass in the middle area

Nice walk to the lake. Really really muddy nearly the whole way.

Beautyful hike! Took us 3.5h and no problem with a dog. (He only gets really dirty 😂)

Spectacular place. Easy trail although as others have said very muddy after rain, you have to cross a few peat bogs. Dogs not allowed in theory, but I saw plenty on the trail so if seems people are ignoring this. Wild camping is allowed at the lake, incredible place to sleep. I was able to get there with my loaded bicycle (bikepacking setup) but a fair bit of pushing required. Definitely wouldn't recommend taking a heavy bike with panniers through.

10 km return hike. very easy and nice if there was no rain. After rainy night be prepared for a lot of mud. Beautiful view in the end and it's free.
On weekends a lot of locals.

Report Check-In

This is a 10km hike that can be nice but when it has rained before it is just mud, mud, mud. The path becomes a nightmare and you can easily fall down so be prepared.

Beautiful hike. Pretty easy, it's 10km round trip, pretty flat most of the time, it took us 3h to go there have lunch and come back.

The start is at the left side of the parking.
At this season the track is mud, snow and nice (most difficult part of the trail is that) and the Laguna was still mostly under ice but nevertheless it totally worth it to do.
Apparently from the Laguna you can also go to a glaciar it's 5km more one way (path on the left side of the laguna)

Enjoy !

Busy hike to beautiful lake. Not difficult, but sections can be quite muddy. Come prepared.

Nice walk, good view with sunny weather. But lots of people! During the weekend they parked along the street because the parking lot wasn’t enough. So we decided to try again few days later. It was better but still many people..

10kms round trip to see the laguna Esmeralda. Easy path but can be tricky if it rained the past few day. There was a lot of mud when we did it.
A lot of space to park at the beginning, but very close to the road. Not so suitable to sleep here.
