Description

Sendero, restaurante and with lodging coming. You can camp here for 10k pp pn. 8,000 pp to hike the sendero with Don Luis, 1 hour. We didn’t camp so we’re not sure on the facilities. It’s beautiful up here and the tall palms are way cool.

Latest Check-Ins

Update to the mirador Valle de la Samaria: Now, you‘ll find the beautiful litle new hotel with 3 rooms and 1 suite. The suite is separated on his own level in front of the restaurant, very private and with nice view. You can park your car near the restaurant and stay over night in your own car, use the bathroom and restaurant. You can also make a guided tour to the Bosque de Palma de Sera with Juan-José. Today, we where alone and John drove to San Felix to get some food to cook dinner for us, we could chose what we wanted to eat. Very nice place, nice few, nice people! 3G works for WA (Claro). We hiked to the second mirador all over cow grazing, it was beautifull!

we came here with our 2x4 sprinter campervan. the mirador costs 2.000cop pp. alejandro gave us an 1 hour tour for 8.000cop pp. almuerzos cost 15.000cop. staying overnight in your own camper you have to pay 15.000pppn. no claro reception

Report Check-In

As mentioned a nice, quite place in beautiful nature. Now, camping is possible for 15.000 COP per person. But there is no shower and no WiFi.
The road between San Felix and Salamina is under construction and currently closed from Monday to Friday between 6pm and 11pm. For us, the road was dry and on the way back only a bit wet. We didn't need 4x4.

Nice place to visit and spend a night or more.
As beautiful as Valle de Caucaura, but way more peaceful! And you can sleep surrounded by the palm trees.
They have changed the camping price to 10k COP pp, and 8k for the sendero but still worth it.

The road is being changed, so it is currently close between 1pm to 5pm from Monday to Friday. Because of the work, the road can be be really muddy. We recommend to use the road if dry and during daylight 1h/1h30 to get to San Félix from Salamina

Awesome! This is a wonderful place away from everything. Luis is a very nice host (only speak Spanish). Stayed here for 2 nights same price as previous comment. Did the hike Wich was very pretty, got to milk a cow in the morning and got free milk. Lovely dogs, amazing views. And very, extremely quiet and relaxing, the road to get here was rough and muddy, did need 4x4 for like 1k because the road is being repaired. No need to call in advance if you are going to reach during the day (closed on Wednesday) there is cabins and rooms for rent too. It took us 6 hours from Medellín. Very recommended (heard from other people that this is better than the famous and very turisty cocora Valley)

Came to this place at 7 in the evening. They said I should have called before so they'd have prepared food but they still helped us any way they could. We slept here in our car and the next morning we did the hike around their property, which is really nice. They did raise the prices though, it's now 10k pp to sleep and 8k pp for the walk. The road is quite tough, 4x4 not absolutely necessary but high clearance definitely is. The phone number is 314 611 58 99.

Great place to discover the valley and the famous wax palm trees. You can enjoy the “sendero” with Luis (or John - his son) for a few pesos. The place is way less touristic and as much or more beautiful than the well known Cocora valley.
You can also have an almuerzo here or a drink. You can even park here with a campervan but the road may be a a bit tough!
Highly recommended.
