Latest Check-Ins

Was alone at first. Then, people started arriving. The extra long spaces all filled up. 4 semi's joined. 1 Trucker, 2 spaces away, chose to let his truck run all night. Between that and the train, I woke up 5-6 times during the night.

Report Check-In

Lil spot bc got dark. 2 other overnights. Quiet and chill so far. Bathrooms open.

Report Check-In

Free water spigot on the north west corner of the building by women's bathrooms. bring your own hose.

Report Check-In

quiet as far as traffic at the visitor center is concerned, but highway noise is apparent. it's a tad quieter if you park with the building between you and the freeway, but the lot looks less level.

arrived at 1730, visitor center was closed, but restroom facilities were open.

water spigot was on, located on NW corner of building. better for buckets/jugs but if you can snag a parking spot close enough, a hose could be run and threads looked ok.

3-4 bars of T-Mobile 5G.

Report Check-In

Spent one night here, and it was a rather peaceful and quiet stay. There was one other van and a couple of semis that parked overnight. But otherwise had the place to ourselves.

Report Check-In

Much quieter to park here than over at Loves. Trucks do park here however but you can park on the other side of the visitor center to get away from them.
There is also a water pump here. And you can find that at the side of the visitor center where the women’s restrooms are located. See photo.

Report Check-In

as described, noise does not bother me. sign says max 24 hours parking or there is a $100 fine.

Report Check-In

As others said. Good for the night. The workers there are really kind too. I slept great.

Report Check-In

stayed here overnight, only 2-3 others here besides me. the welcome center was closed but it was Sunday. the road noise that others complained about didn't bother me at all

Report Check-In

Stopped here overnight. We slept here just fine, but if you can't sleep with any amount of truck/highway noise then this is not the place for you. It's right between an off ramp and I-10 so definitely not a quiet spot.

Report Check-In

All the repirts of noise and we had the quiestest night atvavrest stop ever.

Report Check-In

We stopped by to get some sleep. While it is next to I-10, we did not hear too much noise and the parking lot was fairly empty.

Report Check-In

Worst rest area I’ve ever been. Moved middle of the night to gravel parking next to econolodge because of idling more than 10 trucks and of course highway noise. Highly recommend next to econolodge parking area as described on the app.

Report Check-In

Because of all the trucks and traffic noise, it is impossible to sleep here! I don’t recommend. Try other places. We have moved back to Econo Lodge. So much better and quite.

Report Check-In

The New Mexico visitors center has bathrooms and tourist information. We recommend parking behind the building as large trucks do not park here. There is road noise.

Report Check-In

Nice place to spend the night on the road. Smaller parking area, but separation from the semi’s is possible on the auto side, however the auto side does not have room for a trailer. Bathrooms were clean and even had warm water. The only bummer was that the water spigot was locked. Gas station in the distance would be a 5 min walk.

Report Check-In

24 hour bathrooms are open 12/28/21. picnic tables, water, and up to 24 hours parking.

Report Check-In

it's open at the time we stopped. 6:30pm, no trucks, one car. Slightly tricky to access, on eastbound side.. Did not stay the night, but looks like a good place for overnight. Room for larger rigs on back side of visitor center.

Report Check-In

I'm not sure if it's permanently closed or just for covid

Report Check-In

Great rest area for the night. Bathrooms were clean, heated, and open 24/7. Highway is right there so you can expect some noise. We left before the visitor’s center opened, but looked cute.

Report Check-In

Right now it's closed but a guy told me tenting there is also possible.

Report Check-In

Noisy.
I don't get why trucks come here to sleep. They're even too long for the space.
I did not see the wifi code before, so can't confirm.
Next time, I'll try Veterans' park.

Report Check-In

The welcome center allows people to park and stay for the night. The bathrooms are open all night, heated and super clean. The parking was a little noisy with the trucks coming and going, but no big deal. A great place to stop over for the night.

And they also have a few covered picnic tables around outside and a few signs around explaining the history, it’s Shakespeare ghost town.

Report Check-In

Good free spot to spend the night with clean bathrooms. The actual visitors’ center has some good material on NM as well.

Wifi password is Lordsburgvic :)

Report Check-In

Good place for a quick overnight when you're on the road. It's easy (right off the highway), convenient, free, and safe. There are some picnic tables, running water, and flush toilets (open 24 hours). There's also visitor information available.

Sometimes there is wifi, sometimes not, but there's good cell service anyway. It can be busy with people coming and going, so not a very quiet place to stay. Bring ear plugs.
