Description
Nice easy campground, open since 7 feb 2018. Not too fancy and not too simple. Solid build showers, hot and good water pressure. Tents can be put between trees for wind protection. Internet only on computer but entel signal is strong. Common room with kitchen and modern fire stove which works well and heats the house. No money digging owner, very friendly and helpful. 5000pppn. Next year *may* also have a small hostel.
The boat to Candelario Mansilla runs M-W-F but is dependent on weather approval from the Carabinero station at Candelario Mansilla as the wind and conditions on the lake are very different from in Villa O'Higgins. Check with Ruedas Patagonia about schedules.
Expect the segment from Candelario Mansilla to Lago del Desierto to take 6-7 hours if you are cycling (less if you are walking).
At Lago del Desierto the boat runs T-T-S at 11 and sometimes at 3, sometimes other days if there are known passengers.
Both boat journeys seem expensive but are not really overpriced when you take into account that they don't work every day, the season is only about 4-5 months a year, and it's very remote so costs are high.

Looks like the owner is more used to having tents than camper vans. If you want to use electricity there are not many options. We used the plug-in of the washing machine once the laundry was done in the evening. Then in the morning someone had taken our plug off to be able to use the washing machine. Not a problem, just a bit weird. The shared space looked nice. The shower is hot. Wifi is not very strong.

Report Check-InAs described but we paid 7000 pp for tent and two bikes. Great place, loads of space to find shelter, peaceful. Paulo works really hard running around all day, looking after his two kids while trying to run a business. You can use his kitchen and lounge which is really big and well equipped. Would highly recommend.
Report Check-InStayed for 9 nights here while having bike fixed and waiting for good weather for the lago o’higgins sailing. Pitching spots under trees or out in open. Had a great time, and saw us through some inclement weather! The host is good company, very easy going and super helpful. Facilities as described and clean. Very comfortable, great for kids too with trampoline, bikes, books, hammocks and TV (when all else fails). 6000pppn. Recommended!
Report Check-In6,000 CLP per person per night for tent. Lots of tables and benches outside. Hot showers, good pressure. Bathrooms are clean for a campsite, trash cans empty. No soap, hand sanitizer or toilet paper in bathrooms.
Owner was very kind and friendly.
Well equipped kitchen/lounge was messy with the owner's dishes and food (since it's his personal kitchen), but I can't complain for only 6,000 CLP per night.
There are also some very tiny cabanas (with bed only) in the front yard, not sure of cost.
Report Check-InNice campground under trees which provide wind protection. Only one toilet each for men and women. Nice kitchen with a large selection of pots, pans, cutlary; sofas, chairs, TV, clients from all over the world hanging around.
Cheap laundry 4000 per machine plus 1000 for drying.
Paid 6000 per person in car with roof tent.
Would definitely recommend.
tiny nice Campsite Close to town. If you Like you can Share Family kitchen but separate Toilette and shower. all good. paid 6.000 Pesos for 2 Persons and 1 campervan.
Report Check-InExcellent hosts, lovely and warm common area. Hot showers and use of the kitchen. Paola also offers laundry service. This is a very peaceful, family run campsite, where you can feel at home and get to rest in the spacious, cozy and well equipped common area. Highly recommended.

Report Check-InLovely place to stay. Largely sheltered from the wind, nice common space that is shared with the lovely resident family. Good hot water (though at certain times you have to ask for it to be turned on).
Report Check-Init's now open again, nice place to camp, communal area with gas stove and wood stove hot showers, no covered areas to camp but under the trees offer some protection. it's 5000clp a night. no wifi at the moment but the owner offered to share his hotspot with me.

Report Check-InThe best campground in Villa O Higgins, a lot of threes, so you are very well protect of the wind. i also like a common area, what is actualy a dinning room of this nice family who are running this place. If you want to see a real Chilean countryside life, an one real happy family and to be a part of their life for a day or two, stay in this place. Wifi is very poor but since i am working online while touring the world, the owner gave to me USB wifi stick for my laptop, what was very kind. Highly reccomend this place. Love you, guys 😍
Report Check-InWe really like our 2 nights there. It’s a quiet place with trees and a lot of Space in the garden. Shower are hot, big and clean! The owner is very nice and helpful. The commun area is clean and very beautiful :)
