Description

Through the old park gate (with fee sign that you can safely ignore) are three opportunities to park and camp overnight, all abandoned campsites. No permit is required.

The first you will see will get 4g MTC coverage but is visible from the road, there is an abandoned white building there.

The second, about 100m farther up is has a few abandoned remains of buildings and two long drops. This place is not visible from the road but also has no MTC signal.

The third campsite is found by following the trail up towards the crater (capable 4x4 only). From the third campsite, a path leads up to the crater which then continues to a summit. MTC signal unknown. Second campsite recommended. Hike to crater from second campsite is about 1 hour.

The place is quite (sometimes very) windy and the ground is rocky for tent pitchers.

Usually, we enter the coordinates in google map and get to the spot easily. This time, it was like the road doesn't register anymore on the map.
Before entering Berseba, follow the road D3904. Then, just drive straight.

The camping is abandoned. You can easily go to the first two camp spots, then you have to have a good car with 4x4. The road gets tricky.

It was an amazing spot!

We had a wonderful and quiet night at the lower Campsite. The road to this place is quite good. Also for 2wd. We parked on a marked and leveled campground. There was a sign an the gate, that said camping is 50 N$. But nobody was there. We think the Campsite ist still/again closed.

Abandoned campground in a nice landscape. Easy access on a very good dirt road to the lower campground. The track to the upper campground is very rocky. Both campsites are behind a hill and doesn´t provide a view over the plains. No facilities, no MTC-Signal, no people.

Beautiful place to go. We did the middle camp. Very quiet🤣🤣. No toilet, rests of a longdrop one. No water.

We stayed at lower campsite. Still abandoned, no fees to pay. we got quite some wind but we managed to secure the tent with rocks as there is no wind shelter.
views were amazing, we enjoyed both sunset and full moon rise.
To reach the upper campsite you need a 4x4 with high ground clearance as there are quite some big stones. We tried to go up with our off road trailer but we had to turn back. Definitely doable with a 4x4 though.
A special place where we felt all alone and safe.

Awesome place. Stayed at the 2nd campsite Wich seemed the best overall.
To climb to the top (German observatory on maps.me) took us 1.5+ hours . Can get quite windy though there are some shelters. All of the above was correct about the reception. Climbing to the crater you can have better reception of MTC.
Beautiful sunset.

what an amazing place ! we had a great night there : wonderful sky, great views and no wind. would have stayed a second night but we were running out of water.
still no fees to pay.

Great spot although windy at nightfall. If you're alone, expect a good challenge putting up your tent. Had to tie mine to rocks using a bunch of ropes because the ground was rocky to pin the tent. To access it, the entrance is south, on the M98.

Beautiful scenery and wild camp, the hike to the crater is well worth it in the morning. Be prepared for a windy night though.
