nice small border crossing crossing where you can exit Namibia directly into transfontier national park. do know if you come from Namibia, you need to book two nights in the park if you want to exit in twee rivieren. we made that mistake, as we thought to enter South Africa via here and take the park along the way.

Report Check-In

Exiting S.A entering to Nam- no need for TiP

This border is open! You must full a formulier where you going in Namibia.
No carnet stamp here! The check your car for if you have meat, fruit, eggs, firewood it is not allowed to take it with you at the border! You must pay roadtax!

Report Check-In

As described before. No meat or firewood allowed either way, in and out. Have never heard that they don‘t allow fruit, vegetables or dairy as someone wrote below.
You need reservations in the park, book via Sunparks website or walk to the Sunparks reservation across the border in SA, they are very friendly.
Note that they cancel your road permit, you need to pay for a new one when you enter NAM again. It happened to us that their printer and cc machine didn‘t work, so we asked them to write it out manually and we paid in cash, otherwise they wouldn‘t let us leave.

The border post is open now. Going from Namibia there is no visa fee, they stamp your passport. They would not let you take in meat, fruit, vegetables, dairy or firewood. Because of South African requirements they said we had to eat it there or put it in bin. When we went through the South Africans said no such requirement only meat and firewood. Going from South Africa to Namibia there is a charge for foreign vehicles 377 N$. You cannot take meat or firewood in.

Report Check-In

The embassy in Capetown reported this border crossing is still closed for going into Namibia.

A sanparks camp, great ablutions same as other Sanparks camps in Kgalagadi.
Very little shade or lush tree coverings, and obviously sites are only sand.
swimming pool is great.
no network, have to buy camp wifi that's expensive.
Great game viewing on all our drives.
This border to Nam is closed

We don’t like the way, but I think it’s better to book in advance. It was hard to find a (camping) spot somewhere. And you have to be two nights in the park because they think if you are shoter you use the park as a shortcut. You have to go out at the same gate as you enter if you have only one booking in the park.

Report Check-In

The gate is open till 4.30pm. You need a reservation in the Nationalpark but they just asked us and didn’t check. You have to stay at least two or three days in the park.
Make sure that you receive a „leave Namibia“ stamp. For entering South Africa you have to go to Twee Rivieren but it’s not a problem if you’re doing it after some days.
They don’t check if you have alcohol or food with you.
