Description

This is the location of Edward James' surrealist garden, probably the main reason to visit Xilitla.
This is a set of surrealist concrete constructions built in the middle of the jungle, with waterfalls at the end.
Lots of stairs and intricate spaces so bring comfy shoes.
Entry is 160 pesos, totally worth it.
There is a restaurant, toilets and gift shop on site. Guided tours mandatory: Spanish guide 25 pesos; English guide 50 pesos.

It seems that masks are no longer mandatory!

Got our tickets online which was relatively easy. Paid $270 for two adults. Right before starting the tour we had to pay $50 per person.

Street parking felt safe but limited.

Spanish group was large, about 20 people. English tour was significantly smaller (only us). Visited during the week. Very good guide.

Free toilets on site after the reception and towards the end of the tour.

Unique place, definitely never seen something like this.

Beautiful and very peaceful place. 160 pesos per person plus 25 pesos for a spanish guide or 50 pesos for an english guide. Mask and guide are mandatory.

Report Check-In

Parking is on the street anywhere you can find. Masks still mandatory, make sure you bring one as they don’t have them for you.

You get charged extra above ticket for mandatory tour guide. English is at 3pm, can’t remember time in morning. Don’t do it with Spanish tour guide if you don’t understand, a lot of standing around waiting. Make sure you use the washroom before you start, I didn’t see any on way through, 2.5 hours.

Report Check-In

Due to the pandemic it is currently only possible to visit the garden with a reservation (at least one day in advance) and a guide. Don't ask me, how that is supposed to help ;)

We found someone in town who offered us tickes for the same day for 300 pesos (instead of the usual 100 pesos) but we declined.

Hmmm, going from earlier reviews I expected a lot more. Sure, the plants were amazing but the structures poorly maintained and didn't feel like a whole but just random structures placed in the jungle. Some parts have been closed off instead of repaired.100pp is way too expensive in my opinion and there are guys trying to charge you extra for parking while it's free. Never feels good to leave the car unattended after refusing to pay someone who then stays with your car by himself.

Definitely a must-see if you are in the surrounding. Quite amazing what they build in this forest - kind of eeri. Entry is now 100 Peso/Pers and 50 for Pensioner (valid also for foreigners). Recommended!

Report Check-In

Great spot with some unreal structures. 70 peso per person.
