Description

Arie is a very friendly and absolutely helpful Dutch guy. He offers camping for up to three caravans (not too big ones) in front of his cabanas. Wifi, electricity, showers (in cabana) are available. 8 USD/car, same price for only parking. He also has a washing machine - 3 USD/fill. Close to Quito airport, so it is a good and safe spot to park the car for a Galapagos week. He offers the transport to and pickup at the airport as well (15 USD) - for us he had to wait for two hours because of a delayed arrival! Big rigs might get parked on the neighbors ground. Enter a small side road on the right sight coming from Quito at S 0.214083 W 78.360136.

Still very nice place. 7,50$ pp. Maria opened up a cabin for us to shower and even offered to put the bike bags in there (which we didn't do). Arie is in the Netherlands, so no MTB Tours. The cabins are really nice, so if you have to spent some days you might consider renting one as well. Warm showers, clean, quiet enough, even though it is close to Panamericana. 15 cats, some of them really cuddly. Maria is the nicest person. We really enjoyed the stay.

Report Check-In

A lovely place. Message before as she leaves to go open their pizza restaurant at 4.30pm. They have 15 friendly cats and lots of green space. Away from the main road. Nice clean bathroom in a cabin they give you the key for. Visited their pizza place.

Report Check-In

Arie is not at home, since a while he is in the Netherlands. His Ecuadorian wife Maria ( speaks spanish) arrange te
camping. There is room on a
nice grassy area. You can use the banos and shower in one of the cabins. the costs are $7,50 pp/pn and when you leave your car for a few days ( to go to Quito as we did) you pay 7,50 per parking night. safe and oké.
the busstop is at the end of the street and there is a small tienda with almost everything.

Report Check-In

Gate was locked, no-one answered the bell and no sign outside. I moved on.

Report Check-In

Maria was a great host she works evenings so msg before arrival to ensure someone will be home to open gate

we have an extended Ford Transit high roof. no issues accessing it.
7.50 per person per night
access to hot shower/ bathroom from spare cabin

Report Check-In

The owners and the campsite were nice but if your car is higher than 3,5m or something, dont even try. Our truck is 3,9m, we went there first by taxi to make sure we fit, the owner told us the gate is 4m and it´s ok but when we arrived with the truck the neighbour didn't let us in, he said we are destroying everything and was really rude. Not blaming the owner, just sharing my experience, otherwise the place looked nice. 7,5 per person.

Report Check-In

We had to fly home due to a medical emergency and were very happy to be able to let our car stay on the meadow for one month, paid 6$ per night (car only). Maria is very helpful and nice.
Would be a good place to visit the town, very safe!

Report Check-In

Beautiful place, like a garden. Quiet in spite of the proximity of the airport. Maria is a very friendly and amiable hostess. We stayed 3 nights and felt very welcome.

Report Check-In

Came for two nights and stayed seven! This is a very comfortable camp. Level parking, hot showers, fast wifi, and kind hosts! The property is landscaped and manicured... so pretty! Maria loves cats and has 18 of them that have been rescued and live onsite. there is potable water with a long hose that makes filling tanks easy. You do need to message ahead do that they will open the gate for you. It is a green gate with no sign and no bell... FYI... there are two green gates on this access road, it is the 2nd gate. Price was $15 a night for a van with two people. our van is 23 feet long and 10 feet high... we entered with no issues. They also arranged a day tour to the city, which was great! we highly recommend this place!

By far the most beautiful place in Ecuador. Aries is currently in the Netherlands but his wife and son manage the operation. Important: there is no sign and no bell at the green door. Therefore it is the best to contact them before. Contact information below.

Arie is one of the best hosts we‘ve met on our journey through SA. He will help you with virtually anything. He‘s got a nice, quiet and well organized camping spot, perfect to relax for a few days. He can also arrange various trips and/or taxi rides for you. Price still at $8 per camper + $3 per person if you would like to use a bathroom in one of his cabins. Absolutely worth it!

Report Check-In

Really nice and secure place. Arie and his wife are so nice and welcoming. They have a great pizzeria and Arie would help you with anything (especially mechanical issues in our case). Still 8USD with wifi and plugs if necessary (but not using bathrooms).

He did give us some route suggestions as well since he has experience with bike rental in Ecuador so he does now the nice spots to go. Camping was $10 p night for the two of us.

Report Check-In

Arie's cabins is a great place to stay. It is the perfect base for cyclists to visit Quito. We didn't want to cycle into Quito because of the traffic so camped one night at Arie's place, than left the bicycles at his place and went to Quito for two days. Arie is incredibly friendly and helpful. He offers several tours including mountain bike tours in Ecuador. He can even help with mechanical problems. Toilets are clean, shower is hot. We paid $10 for the night for 1 tent and two people. Highly recommend this place to cyclists!

Report Check-In

At Arie's Cabin Caper parking now they can also be helpfull with renewing youre TIP at the new aiport in Quito about 20 min away from Arie's. So you dont have to drive to Colombia or Peru

Report Check-In

Arie was a great help and his location is wonderful. Good wifi, hot and clean showers, electricity and water for $14 per night. We came for two nights and stayed for four. The trip to Quito centre by public transport is long (go to Rio Claro and then switch to Ecovia) but cheap and fun to people-watch. We did it four times. Nice quiet walking across the road.

Report Check-In

We enjoed this place, ist true that the main street and the airport is near, but we sleeped well. Recomend the City Tour to Quito the hole day whith Arie. He showed us the old and the new town and we had nothing else to do as stunny. Price for the tour from 7.30 - 16.00 was 105 $ and its worth.

Report Check-In

Arie is great host. The place is spacious and quiet at night. The internet is fast and things are really clean. Only thing is it is kind of expensive to stay. $8 a night for parking, plus another $3 a day to use the bathroom.

Report Check-In

Highly recommended. Tranquil nights, hot showers, reliable/fast wifi. Very secure parking. We found Arie to be very attentive, intent on ensuring every guest's needs are met. Uber into Quito center is about $12, ~35 minutes. Bus fare is $1-2 to center.

Report Check-In

Aries is one of the greatest guys we met on our Journey. Stayed 2 weeks at his place, because we had issues with the engine of our car. He helped us to find a good mechanic. He also took us on a walk at weekend trough the neighbourhood to get our mind free while our car was at the mechanic. Alice the dog at his place is a super nice golden retriever...we miss her! He owns two cats as well. The place is total save. We left our baggage their while we discovered Quito by car. Bathrooms are clean and modern and Shower is hot and nice. Paid 14 USD per day for two people and to use a bathroom from one if his cabins. Nice place! Near to the airport is no problem and not anoying. Door has a bell and a sign with his phonenumber. Its really a place where you can feel like home. Thank you Arie for helping us that much! High recommendation!

Report Check-In

Great place to stay, do laundry and eat pizza. Arie is wonderfully friendly and helpful.

Report Check-In

Very nice place. We paid $12 per night for two people in a roof top tent. The cabins are very nice, our guest had a lovely double cabin for herself for $20. Comfortable, secure, German beer garden nearby :)

Report Check-In

Great place to base yourself for a while. Car storage available if required ($6/day) and camping ($8/day per vehicle total). Safe and secure and flat. Suitable for large RVs. Arie is super helpful and so kind. He's been here 25 years so very knowledgable. Great place to base yourself close to central Quito (especially if in a big car) to regroup or do some maintenance. Excellent wifi to catch up on all admin!

Report Check-In

Everything said below is true. Very friendly owner, we paid $8 for the car and $3pp to stay there. Wifi is pretty fast (in Ecuadorian standards) and the campground is nice

Report Check-In

This is a great place! Arie, the owner, lives on the same ground with his family. He is a very sympatic and helpful guy! Don't hesitate to ask if you need some help or advice!
There is space for several RV's. The place is equipped with a very long water hose, 110v electricity, showers with electric head. Furthermore you can use the washing machine (3$). If you plan to go to Galapagos you can park here your RV and Arie will bring you to the Airport (15$ per way).

Prices (Feb 2017):
8$ per RV (6$ to park) / day
3$ per person / day (off course only if you are there, not if you're on Galapagos)

There is no door bell! So you need to call/text Arie if you would like to enter: +593 99-981-6603

Report Check-In

If you have technical issues, do not hesitate to contact Arie or go there. He will help you and guide you to the proper mecanics. Thanks Arie.

Report Check-In

Nice people here. Good secure place to park-up whilst in Galapagos. $6 pd for parking only is quite a good price, but if you stay there in your truck it's $8pppn plus extra to use bathroom. It's a pleasant garden, but this is overpriced for what it is. The location is good for the airport, but otherwise nothing to do around there.

Report Check-In

Arie was a "one-stop shop" for us: we had a need, Arie had the answer or the solution. He is very reliable and helpful and really knows his ways around. Left the truck at his place for 10 days Galapagos ($6/day, airport drop-off and pick-up $15 each). Paid ($8 for the truck + $2/person) per day we actually stayed at his place and used the bathroom/ power of a cabin. It's too far from Aries to go to the inner city on public transport for just a day but Arie will direct you to secure parking close to the centre if you wish to do the day trip partly in your car (1-1.5 hours each way). Otherwise he will precisely indicate you how to get to the centre using two buses. The bus stop is 200m from his house, the journey last 1.5-2 hours and costs $1.75 p.p. each way. Quito is well worth staying at least 2 nights! Make sure you get the guided tours included in the entrance fee if you visit the Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús or the Museo de la Ciudad, both of which we found outstanding.

Report Check-In

Excellent place to stay and/or park while going to the Galapagos. Arie and Maria are super friendly and helpful. Go for the pizza at Maria's restaurant, you won't be disappointed. $8 per person plus $2 per person if you need the bathroom or shower.

Report Check-In

Friendly owner, drove us to the city to the nice pizza place from his wife. Was very good! Camping is in garden, could use shower and toilet of one of the cabins.

Report Check-In

Nice place with a nice lawn. Space for max 4 vehicles. Arie was very friendly and helpfull. We paid 8US$ pp for camping and extra 2US$ to use bathroom in 1 of his 5 cabanas. We arrived late at 7h30 and were hungry. Since he has no restaurant, he drove us to his wife"s pizzeria. Great pizza.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for about a month. Two reasons for that: A two-week Galapagos trip and we awaited a parcel with spare parts for our camper. Arie was more than helpful. He helped us in our fights with customs and even in extensive repair work with our camper. We made also a fantastic trip with him to the crater rim of the vulcano Pichincha. We enjoyed everything very much. Thank you, Arie.

Report Check-In

Arie was marvellous helping us through the maze of car part importing. We used his services at the airport, twice, stored the truck as well and did a bike tour. Water now smells chlorinated, so I am changing category to potable.

Report Check-In

The place is really nice for a rest. We paid $ 8 for the car and $ 2/person for the toilet in one of the cabins ($ 12 total). Arie also organizes and guides tours around the city, so he may be out for the day. He recommends travelers contact him on advance to make sure he will be there: [email protected] / 0999-816-603.

Yes, indeed. Great place. Contact Arie by email, [email protected] to check if he has space available when you have plans to visit.

Great place!! Very quiet and a nice garden. They have a new router and the internet is very fast. We paid 10 dollars (8 for the car and 2 to use the bathroom in a cabana). We washed all our stuff there, one big machine is 2.50 dollar.
Cars higher than 3m can park at the neighbors house.
At this place you could easy spend weeks.

Report Check-In

It was fantastic to stay at Arie's cabins!!! He and his family was very friendly and helpful. We staid so far mostly 2 weeks, also because we went to the Galapagos island. And it's also a very good and safe place to leave our car and our dog. He also have a great service to bring you at the airport and of course to the Pizzeria of his wife. The Pizzeria was a very nice place and they had really good Pizza and Nachos! The restaurant is decorated with lots of love and the atmosphere was very pleasant!
