Description

PRICE AS OF NOVEMBER 2021: 200 NAD ppn.
Unbelievable nice campsite and you will be alone in this huge area.
The side has his own kitchen with sink a place to wash your clothes and an old iron ofen to cook meals. There is a huge indoor bathroom with toilet. towels soap and toilet paper provided. bolders are built in this most beautiful bathroom we have ever seen. Our English is not good enough to describe it but no 5star der hotel will have something like this! There is also an own outdoor shower and toilet. Power here is out of solar so only for the light
Also very nice clean braai and firewood with light. There are steps to the top of the rocks. you can sit up there in the shade overlooking the green trees with view to the waterhole which is lit at night.
The architecture and style of all is absolut amazing! around every corner it surprises and welcomes the visitors you have to see it.
About 10min footwalk there are 2 small waterholes and near it a little pool you can sit in and watch animals. best place to be when its hot.
The water is pumped out of a and is warm.
There are also many shady places around the campsite where you can sit on benches or a wooden bed.
In the evening amazing stars
You are alone in the nature here!. very exclusive feeling.
Call or send a whatssapp to the owner Hannes when you plan to come here.

Also the drive to this place is lovely and there is a chance to see rhino and other animals.
bring lots of food and drinks because you will stay longer than you have planned.
No MTC signal at all (available around 3km from the camp on the road in).

A hidden gem! Best camping experience for a single party. Hung hammocks in the watch tower as well as slept up there. Unbelievable views of the stars. Would agree with all other reviews. A must stay and for at least 3 nights. We will be back! Also best to call/ message in advance.

Indeed very cool place as described previously but shade was a real issue for us and to our car and fridge. Only option was to stay under kitchen lapa but no view at all if you want to chill on your camping chairs. I would not say access road is 4x4 only. You can't drive very fast because of many curves, ups and downs, speed bumps and farm gates, but is definitely not a difficult road. It took us 1 hour 25 minutes from main gravel D2315 until campsite (+-35km). Would have appreciated to have someone coming at the campsite to explain to us how to have hot water, where are the waterholes located, the splash pool location, if there are hiking trails available, if water is potable, etc. Before our arrival the owner had sent through WhatsApp a handmade sketch to roughly show the location of the camp. Since there's no mobile internet in the area we had to figure out everything for ourselves. Got lost in the bush looking for the famous splash pool at midday harsh sun then we found out you have to follow the signs "Dam". The pool with the waterhole is 1km from the campsite and you have to slide a black wooden "door" to open the splash pool (we almost swam in the waterhole as there's nothing saying there's a pool inside that wooden thing on the ground near the waterhole!) Saw dik-diks and lots of lovebirds at the small water source by the campsite and heard many zebras at the waterhole during the night. No MTC signal at all.

Great place at the end of the Erongo mountains Ombu road. Nice for unwinding and getting in touch with nature. Stop on your way in at Ombu Farm and get some their springbok biltong and farm meat.

Camping is 200 pppn.

Indeed a very big and specialy built place with lots of little details.Water is from a borehole (there are no springs in this area). Lights from Solar at the bar and indoor toilet/shower. We saw 4 Kudus, 3 Springbocks and lots of birds. Sign says 4x4 needed as the road is very rocky. N$ 200 ppn, fire wood N$ 30 a bundle. As Hannes does not live here permanently it is good to call ahead so the place can be prepared (+264811283234) 🤩 No mobile reception.

2 relaxing days in the middle of nowhere, very nice place. We saw some zebras around and find the DAM too. But signs on the road would be helpful

Beautiful campsite with so much luxury! There is an indoor and outdoor shower and toilet, a bar/kitchen, a deck with a beautiful view (nice for yoga), a fireplace and a braai area. It has everything you need! We stayed two nights with friends and think it's a perfect place to stay with a group of people! Splash pool is really small so don't expect to swim in there The route to the campsite is very nice, we saw a couple of giraffes! We can highly recommend this place and stay at least 2 nights.

As said before, insane attention to detail. You would not expect this funky place here.

Call in advance as it is best to have this place to yourselves. You will want to stay at least 2 days. Do note, expect to drive for around 1.5 hours from the turnoff from the D2315 to the D2316 (or approx. 2 hours from Omaruru). If you have the time do it!

This truly is a gem. Everything as described before. We've spend two nights there and been surrounded by zebra, giraffe, kudu and springbok. Hannes created a fairy tale campsite. It is a bumpy drive up there, but you'll be all by yourself. We thought it was definitely worth it.

Wow!! First class campsite. All as said before. Stay at least two nights at Omukutu. Call Hannes beforehand to make sure there is nobody else here.

Report Check-In

Absolutely first class, one of the best campsites ever. The pool with waterhole, ablutions, kitchen, lookout deck. Inside and outside toilets and showers. A lot of creativity and art work is involved in construction. You must see with your own eyes! 200 N$ pppn. Better to contact Hannes for availability as there is only one camping spot. The drive is quite rocky 4x4 road for the last 40 km.
