I love the massive, jumbled granite boulders. There are lots of birds, including ravens, quail, and doves. Cows will pay you a visit. It is BLM range land. I spent three nights there. It was very busy. My site was very unlevel, but I fixed that by trenching for a tire on one side.

Report Check-In

This is the second time we are camping here. As others have said, it is a wonderful BLM dispersed camping area, with a pit privy near the entrance. Quiet place with unique rock formations and fabulous views. The road in is a mix of dirt, fine rock, and sand. We made it readily with a promaster van.

Report Check-In

Very nice BLM to stay. were here for 3 quit Nights. lots of cows around. it's there territory. I recommand.

Report Check-In

Nice place. Great location and well maintained with picnic area, toilets, interesting landscape. We got in early evening and left at sunrise since it was a rainy, windy night and a small creek formed in the road in front of our site. AT&T is weak but worked okay when boosted.

Report Check-In

bread rocks 12 or so camp areas, stayed here 2 yrs in row

Report Check-In

nice quiet camp spot up in the hills. pit toilet and garbage can(still should pack out) and a few picnic tables Cold this time of year, dipped into the low 30s last night.

Good 5g service T-Mobile

Report Check-In

Amazing back drop! Easy drive into Indian bread rocks on long, slightly washboarded dirt road. Once to rec site, about 15+ pulls out to choose from, road gets rocky and rougher the further back you go. Pretty full when we were there on a Friday. Our 2 WD Dodge 3500 made it to the last spot slowly but surely! Verizon good, AT&T not so good. Pit toilet at entrance. Boulder rocks are fun and easy to explore. Cows abundant.

Report Check-In

More recent checkins on Campendium state you need high clearance here. Detached my trailer and drove in to check it out. I did hit bottom at the very entrance but that’s common as my extended bike rack usually hits on steep hills. I uploaded a pic of the entrance dip as of March 23, 2023.

I parked at the first main lot, as the road is pretty bad (dippy, mounds in the middle of road) down the path, not many places to turn around. Only one other with me in the main lot. Plenty of other vanlifers and people with trailers down the road so I don’t think the road is bad enough to not consider it, just walk or bike it to get an idea of what you’re getting into.

So unique the landscape!! Beautiful view. I couldn’t get level even with three wheel blocks. There seems to be flatter spots further down the road. I did wake up for sunrise but it wasn’t as spectacular that morning:(

Report Check-In

Incredible spot. Many pull offs and a beautiful view. Saw two coyotes walk by within an hour of being here, so be careful with pets!! Decent service on Att and the road is ok for 2wd.

Report Check-In

BLM land. Google maps at first took us to a dead end road several miles away, so make sure to head towards Ft. Bowie. You should pass through miles of a pecan orchard on the way. Several sites along a gravel, sandy, and stony road. Pit privies. 2 bars ATT and LTE. Excellent views looking northeast.

Report Check-In

Incredibly packed on a tues afternoon. An older couple let me share their site for a night so i had somewhere to park / sleep.

Report Check-In

Very lovely location but today was hot! Ran the generator to make it tolerable. Please note, when you enter just after crossing the cattle guard turn right. I went straight and had a heck of a time turning around my pickup and 28’ rig in picnic area parking lot. 😉

Report Check-In

As beautiful as everyone posted! Not many people here, mostly for a family reunion at the picnic area. If you have 4wd, you can drive the road to the base of the mountains where there is a perfect spot. Shady and cool with tree coverage and a fire pit. Most spots have no shade.

We saw a Gila monster! Yes, we did!

We drove up the road to the west and stayed behind the mountain. The sunset on the rocks was amazing!

Hike the roads. This is a special place.

Report Check-In

Pretty busy but nice open landscape, lots of room for all. Quiet but for a distant generator. Rattlesnake sighting by another camper.
Good Verizon.

Report Check-In

New favorite spot. Found some bed rock mortars in a small cave/rock tent near my camp. Love the presence of history. Also saw a small pack of coyotes pass by my van. Lovely place

Report Check-In

Nice campground! Cool lil mountain there. Quite a few spots available but I took one of the first I saw. I took a walk down the road and they’re all nice spots.

Report Check-In

Great spot and very busy. Got here on a Thursday around 5pm. All the spots were taken near the front, so we kept driving. We drove through the rocky area and then found a spot off to the right that had a fire ring. We're pretty far back, but we were able to get through the rocky part in our Promaster 3500.

Report Check-In

Arrive before dark...we were racing to level up in the last 20 minutes of daylight. Sat and watched the stars pop out (though the dust was beginning to kick up). Large boulders make up the backdrop! if you have a lot of clearance, you can pick any site...others park close off the main road.

Report Check-In

Beautiful location, lots to explore, road is a bit rough coming in with washboarding and some dips but we managed with our 1972 Rambler 18ft trailer. Had a fire, explored the rocks, the dogs were happy. People use their generators here.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place with great rock formations and plenty of camping spots, rolled in at 2300 on Friday night and was still able to choose a spot

Report Check-In

We just love it. Very quite, easy to get in, beautiful sunrise and great view.

Report Check-In

We stayed 3 nights. the road is definitely sketchy in a few places and I'm glad we got and and checked it out after passing the first 4 sites and seeing them occupied. the stop we were able to roll into was awesome! I'm really glad we arrived on a Wednesday afternoon so that we didn't have to compete for a spot. by Friday there were quite a few people trying to find places to pull into.

The rock formations really are incredible! There was a hurd of cows that come through our camp and hung around for a few hours one day.

Report Check-In

Just stopped in to check it out for a future visit. Road was good enough for 2WD Promaster. It's an absolutely beautiful area, with cattle, 5G, and lots of rocks.

I will definitely be back!

Report Check-In

Nice campsites tucked away on the hill. Pretty good road in the whole way, it rained a lot when I was there and roads were still good. Can get busy.

Report Check-In

Great location where you can spread out. Even with 7 other boondockers we felt very private and secluded. Lovely hiking and rock formations.

Report Check-In

Great place to spend a few nights. The road in is very bumpy, but it was easy to navigate going slow. There are quite a lot of pull-offs past the day use area. The one I chose was about 1/2 mile back from there and there were probably 10 or so more further back, all spaced out nicely. Most have stone fire rings. It got busy on the weekend, but everyone was repectful and it was quiet the entire time. Some cows around, but they didn't bother anyone. I would definitely return if traveling through the area again!
Decent T-Mobile service.

Report Check-In

A few spots on the entrance road, more past the picnic area. Beautiful views. 3 bars Verizon.

Report Check-In

Beautiful and secluded campsite at the base of the Bread Rocks.
Valley views below. Road to this spot is sandy. I used 4 wheel drive low to insure that I made it without getting stuck.
Strong Verizon cell signal with 3 bars.
There are a lot of flies…. But not to the point it’s bothersome.

Report Check-In

Great Spot! 10 min off freeway, partial dirt road but my dodge minivan made it easily. very quiet, felt very safe as a single female. Arrived about an hour before dark, another van pulled in just before dark, we stayed across the parking lot from each other. I imagine more sites up the road if you want to get more secluded. Great hiking up rocks, stayed cool until sun came up then no shade

Report Check-In

Fun but challenging hiking trails all around...just follow the cow patties! very scenic, beautiful rock formations, desert vegetation, birds, rabbits, lizards.

Report Check-In

It was hard to find a spot but the further back down the main dirt road, the more spots!

Report Check-In

Was hesitant about coming here with a 40’ 5th wheel but was able to slowly navigate the road in. Found a spot that easily accommodated the camper! Beautiful scenery and awesome hiking!

Report Check-In

Nice quiet dispersed camping spot just off the interstate. It is popular, so you will see others.

Report Check-In

This is a really beautiful spot. There are so many places to park/camp, and even though there were a lot of people here as well, everything is spread out so you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other. Cool mountains and rock formations to explore. We came here a week ago, went to Tucson and then came back bc we loved it so much.

Report Check-In

Super Busy
while this is a neat spot, EVERYBODY knows about it. talked with a BLM ranger who told us how busy this place gets and it is way worse since COVID. He went on to explain that since it is near I-10, people come to stay the night while traveling making the census even higher. it was difficult for us to find a spot and we had to park at a pretty exreme angle for a couple of nights until somebody else left so we could claim that spot.

Report Check-In

Really spectacular place made even more so by the nothingness it rises out of. Well worth the drive a few minutes off the interstate. I rolled in late at night so it was quite a surprise to wake up to.

Report Check-In

Herd of Longhorn cattle graced us with their presence, marched through like a single file parade. The Rock topography scenery is lovely. Had sufficient cell service for AT&T and Verizon. Lots of other quail and birds happily flitting about.

Report Check-In

As described. At least 7 campers here last night, come early to get a spot.

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot surrounded by beautiful rock formations. Dispersed sites along a rutted roadway with stone fire rings. Pretty popular. Great hiking and lots of birds and bunnies. Some AT&T reception, 1 bar, so slow. Today it snowed!

Report Check-In

Really beautiful setting! Gorgeous views. About 9 miles off I-10. Entrance road is a bit rutted, so you just have to take it slow and careful if you're in an rv. We arrived on a Friday night at 5:00 & most of the spaces were taken. If we would have known how popular it was we would have tried to arrive earlier. It's worth the drive off the Interstate.

Report Check-In

Awesome camp ground! 4GLTE Verizon signal that was very fast. Try to stay on the North side. the road goes back to a ranch on the back side of the mountains. LOTS of cows. The north side doesn't have much wind. If you've got a small truck camper or tent I recommend heading up the trail right to the mountain side. Very private with boulders everywhere. 10/10!

Report Check-In

Great place to boondock. Very peaceful and quiet. There are a lot of spots close to the picnic area and the main entrance, but further up the road there are a few more spots that are more secluded. The area by the entrance was pretty crowded but further up we got a great spot and hardly saw anyone else. People drive by with their trucks and ATVs, occasional people shooting off their guns. Free roaming cattle with no fear of people or dogs so watch out for them. Roads are ok for bigger rigs, just watch for the ruts and spots of loose gravel.

Report Check-In

We showed up here around 3pm on Sunday in a Ford Transit. Most of the pull offs we saw were in use by RVs, trucks, and one bus. We went as far down the road as we felt comfortable before it started getting pretty rocky. Probably could’ve kept going but we saw one open spot and turned back. Stone fire rings set up throughout. There’s a pit style bathroom at the rec area but we skipped using it. There was also some picnic tables, park grills, and two garbage cans (full) at the rec area. The spots themselves were pretty private though. We loved seeing the roaming cows right next to the car. There was some gunfire until dark. The stars were INSANE, but we happened to come on a very very very windy day, so we ended up staying inside most of the night. Too windy for a fire. We will come back though. Here’s a photo from the morning!

Report Check-In

You cannot camp at the actual picnic area (with pit toilet and stuff) but there are plenty of cool little spots along the dirt road. Free roaming cows, just be carefull.
Cell reception was ok, sometimes absent.

Report Check-In

beautiful location as being already described. just the 'quite' thing doesn't fit - a generator running all night (c'mon how is that naturecamping?) and hunters all day.

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay! Beautiful area. Pretty quiet. Lot of different spots all over the area.
Primitive road during 5 kms and sand road in the BLM.

Report Check-In

Given all the history and lore of this area I found this spot to be powerful medicine.

I could easily picture indians peeking out from behind the interesting rock formations as cowboys ate their beans below.

Climbing and exploring the trails and rocks was the perfect way to end the day.

There is shade and a nice breeze. Lots of bugs at night but nothing bit me.

Only a few trucks went by and one family stopped and hung out for a bit during the two days I was there.

Do yourself a fine favor and bring a bucket and TP.

The pit toilet was more like a horror show than a western.

Road getting out there was a washboard, but doable with a trailer at low speeds.

Report Check-In

This was a much needed break away from the interstate on our way home from Baja. We got there just before dark and we quickly located the best spot for us to camp. It was a very cool place at night but when the sun rose, we found the bread rocks. We will definitely keep this place on our list of stops when traveling to Baja.

Report Check-In

Beautiful, quiet. Road in is dirt but very smooth. Walk up the rocks adjacent to picnic tables - the view is amazing. Two bars of T-Mobile LTE.

Report Check-In

Forgot to mention that we did get cell service

Report Check-In

Many places after this location to pull off and camp. Very quiet area with great views.

Report Check-In

Great place to camp! We stayed for one night but the 3 main sites were already full. Just drive down the dirt road some more and you’ll find plenty more places to park! Nice and quiet and the cows roaming the land are pretty darn cute.

Report Check-In

Quite a few spots spread out in the area. Very quiet and peaceful, spotty cell service with AT&T.

Report Check-In

Very quiet and nice campsite for free. Pit toilets. Trash. Tables and fire pits .

Report Check-In

BLM lands with picnic area and pit toilet. 3 miles up a good gravel road. Tucked up to hillside with very cool rock formations. Very pleasant campsite.
