Description

Large flattish gravel/sandy parking area 200m from Laguna Moron in the middle of the dunes.
From the last little town, a gravel road leads to the site. They fixed the road so if you follow google maps you will end at the right place!
Laguna is great for swimming and has a nice small beach for a splash/wash in the shallows.
No facilities, free, quiet, ideal.

Latest Check-Ins

Arrived sunday afternoon, a lot of locals were here to spend good time. We were with friends, we try to reach the end of the laguna but the sand is very soft. We were not able to go further the wood wharf. We spend 2 nights here, very calm, absolutly safe, no problem for us. We were with 2 kids (7 and 11 yo).
We warned that without 4wd it’s impossible to go further the parking.
We got a 12T and 4wd truck. No problem for us.
The place is amazing, wild, peaceful and clean ! Some garbages but nothing to see with others places. Respect that please

NOT recommended to sleep here!
Wanted to sleep at the parking of the Laguna. At 8pm came a local from the next village and highly recommended (or more insisted) us not to stay there. He was informed by someone else in the village, people knew we were there. He said, robberies happen there very often. Even locals are not supposed to stay longer than 7 or 8pm. He recommended us to stay in the village (Bernales) at the plaza opposite to the policestation.

Nice place, quite and beautiful look. The road is sandy but even doable with our t2 Kombi. The road on maps.me is pretty exact and it leads direct to the parking lot for tons of cars. Tent could possibly find place on the sand. No official facilities, no food or anything when we were there. Completely quit at night and in the morning.

We spend 3 nights here. They improved the road so getting here is super easy in any kind of vehicle! You could also get close to the Laguna but you will need to drive in soft sand (4x4 maybe a good option) There is a little pier in the Laguna with 2 beaches one at the end of the Laguna, so good option if crowded! When we were here some cars and motorbikes during the day. But nobody at night. Some claro and Entel Signal (3g). Beautiful spot! if you want a real oasis experience...
definitely one of the best option in the area. Also great for swimming! and Beautiful sunset from the dunes! Very recommend!!! and super clean !!! almost no trash at all ! One of our highlights in this part of Peru !

Nice place and much better then Huacachina. We stayed one night and it was safe and quiet.

Very easy to arrive at this spot with any vehicle. The street is well marked, with easy gravel. You need to be able to handle the sand to go any further, but even parking and walking is worthy.

Perfect, quiet and safe spot. Nobody there in the evening & night. At 8.30 pm 2 very friendly policemen came to check on us and said there would be back later to see that everything was ok. Laguna clean to swim. Access road easy and firm. Suitable for bigger rigs, too. From this spot it is pure sand dunes so you would need an excellent 4WD to go any further.

After a chat with a policeman we stayed here for one night. The police returned and stayed on top of the dunes tho whole night. To take a nice bath the water of the laguna was a little bit too dirty but still ok.

We arrived at 4 pm in this parking and there were only 3 more cars (low season, but Saturday). With our van we could only drive until this point, after it’s reeaally sandy. There were guardians in the mirador of the Laguna and sometimes one in the parking too but nobody asking for payment so FREE. We asked if it’s safe and they didn’t seem to see many foreigner tourists and overlanders, so they decided to do like extra night guards and were around giving a look at us very often. We didn’t really needed, but we were the only ones there and they were so kind that finally we appreciated all this “special treatment”. On Sunday some locals arrived, but in the early morning the oasis was for us only and we took a nice swam. Cool Cool place!!

Calm, quiet place at night, friendly guardian during the day who advised us that it is safe here now. He also rents sandboards for 5 soles. Stayed two nights here with no problems. Other overlanders here too without problems. Recommended, it's a nice spot to relax in the desert.

we planned to go there but a local guy told us some tourists have been attacked 3 days ago.

Large flatish gravel/sandy parking area 200m from laguna moron in the middle of the dunes.
slightly sketchy road to get here, mainly gravel with sandy intervals, but we managed it in our 2wd van fine. DONT take the right turn that google maps tells you as it turns to deep sand quickly...! Keep going straight along the gravel road and you will see a rock painted green with 2km and an arrow.
Laguna isnt the best for swimming as there are alot of reeds but nice small beach for a splash/wash in the shallows

No facilities, free, quiet, ideal.
