Very pretty spot on the shore of the lake. Big rig to tent friendly as it looks like it is an abandoned mill site (only the foundations left). Creek next to the site for easy water, though do boil water during the spring run off to be safe. Great views of Canoe Mountain.
if you don't like the noise of generators, or ATV's, then don't come here

Fantastic views. Beautiful lake and creek. Respectful co-campers…. For the most part. Did see a few people bathing using shampoo and soap at the mouth of the river, prime fishing spot…. Ignorance and selfishness is what ruins it for everyone else. Spent a week here.
Swam in the lake. Saw lots of fishing, water fun that was mostly paddle boards, lots of rec-sites, family oriented, lots of dogs (everyone so respectful - dogs leashed around others or when appropriate).
For the August long weekend I was really impressed with the amount of respect and good/respectful energy. Was a great experience!
Leave no trace. :)
Amazing place to camp. Plenty of unmarked areas to stay. Suitable for probably any type of camping. We had a pickup truck with a truck bed tent, so we drove down to the shore where the creek meets the lake and camped with the tent opening towards to the water. Fell asleep to the sound of the rushing water.
A number of people came during the day but left before the evening.
Lots of driftwood for fires (when permitted).
Lovely, chilly, swimming.
Would be excellent for canoeing/kayaking.
Road is very freshly graded so it is accessible to any and every type of vehicle! Even big rigs. Lake is low but it is still a gorgeous place to camp or hang out. Fire ban, please be respectful!
Report Check-InWe went in late October, and it wasn't busy on a Saturday night. Seems to be a common local hang out spot, lot's of firepits strewn around. There's some garbage, or bottles and cans around the fires, and a decent amount of industrial type garbage washed (chunks of steel, hoses ect), so pristine nature, but nothing gross. There were twp other groups when we were down there, but they were quiet enough and friendly. Lot's of driftwood if you didn't bring enough firewood, and the wind helps your fire burn hot. Overall a very nice place to camp, and the type of garbage means you can do a lot of cleaning in a short amount of time.
Report Check-InPretty cool spot. Highly recommend! Dirt and Gravelroad leading to this place, but okay for all kind of vehicles, if you drive carefully.
Some people cruising with there ATV‘s but wasn‘t too bad.
Beautiful and quiet spot with a lot of space. Water was okay enough (in terms of temperature) to take a quick dip.
Report Check-InWe were looking for a place near Valemount, and this seemed closest and the reviews were stellar. And the reviews were right. Beautiful setting on or near the lake, with spectacular mountain views. The road in was unpaved but fine for any vehicle, although a bit rough in places. A great place to spend the night.
Report Check-InAwesome campspot! In this time of the year there are not too many other campers but i think that its very full on high-season! A lotlof Wood there for the several firepits .. Because of perfect wind we could do some hangsoaring with our paragliders on the dry lake 😄
Report Check-InGorgeous spot! Tons of room for a bunch of rigs, some spots more private than others. It’s pretty clean right now - please pick up after yourselves and keep it that way! Also, 2 bars LTE with Telus.
Report Check-InStayed here overnight in our camper next to the water. Beautiful location, loved the snowy mountains on both sides. It was quite windy but the views were worth it
Report Check-InAwesome spot, beautiful views of mountains and sunset. When we got there, there were tons of trash everywhere so please be mindful. Lots of space, there were only two of us so very quiet! Enjoy this beautiful spot :)
Report Check-InGorgeous views and lots of swimming spots. Pretty busy but overall 10/10!
Report Check-InThis was one of the best campsites we've ever been to! There weren't many folks there but one couple managed to get their C Class motorhome in there! There are fire pits but no washrooms or anything like that. There was a bit of trash in some areas as you might expect. While we were there, everyone was very respectful.
Report Check-Inlots of open space. great sunset. no bugs. lake was very low so a long walk to the water.
Report Check-InAs amazing as all the others said! Very worthwhile. Swam in the lake, clear beautiful and cold. There were a few other people around, plenty of space. Bugs were bad in the early evening and in the morning until the sun came out around 11am.
Report Check-InThis spot on the river that feeds into the lake. It’s clear people camp here often. There are manmade fire pits and even a pot set up in the trees to hang your tarp from. A really great place for ATVs.
Report Check-InBeautiful!
Nice drive in, open level ground, lakeside with amazing sunrise and sunset.
A few mosquitos but One of the best spots I’ve stayed at!
Awesome place by the lake, the views are amazing and there’s a lot of space to everyone with privacy. Fire-rings, easy firewood but no amenities, so pack in/pack out.
Report Check-InGreat spot on the lake. Came in mid April so had the place to ourselves. Stunning views and super accessible for rigs of all types.
Report Check-InGreat camping all along the shore of Kinbasket lake. Suggest you walk the route to your chosen site. Lots of places to sink up to your axles in the soft spots.
Report Check-InPretty awesome spot. Lots of people camping but leaving every one their space. Definitely recommend!
Report Check-InAmazing place, perfect for big vehicles, small vans, tents, cyclists... Amazing views over the beautiful lake and mountains! Totally free and quiet! Recommended !
Report Check-InThis is the most amazing spot we ever been to. Right out of jasper park, definitely worth seeing.
Perfect sunset on the lake, self made fire pits and dried wood all over the place.
Don’t forget beer and marshmallows out of Valemount !
Beautiful views of the mountains on each side and not many mosquitos. there were quite a few camping here with room for everyone to spread out.
Report Check-Instunning mountain and lake views. Large area so you could fit plenty of vehicles in - there were only about 4 other vehicles the night we stayed, and they were spread over a very large area so everyone had privacy and plenty of space. A few people with dirt bikes were staying which was a little loud whenever they returned to their site (and did some circuits around the nearby dirt roads), but everything was quiet by about 8.30pm so it didn't bother us too much
Report Check-InThe lake is not as beautiful as it used to be I assume. Its drying out. Nice views though and calm. Several big rigs were Staying there.
Report Check-InAwesome spot! Stunning views, quiet, great road! Came here with a converted schoolbus, no problem at all :-)
Report Check-InIndeed a beautiful and large, sunny area on a spit of land above the lake (access for small boats near the river). Beautiful panorama, not too many mosquitoes and even if there are other campers, everyone finds his own private spot, directly above the lake and mouth of river or sheltered among some trees. Only downside: there are remains of old settlements and rusty debris around that seem to make some campers think they do not need to take their trash with them when they leave. Please help to keep this spot as nice as it is by not following their bad example.
Report Check-InLarge area and frequented. Really nice view. Sadly you can see that not everyone pays attention to their garbage
Report Check-InGreat spots guys! Thanks. When you come from Valemount with gas station, bottle shop, local IGA supermarket, the paved road changes for the last 10 km's in good maintained (dusty when dry) gravelroad. No need for clearance or 4wd.
Report Check-InBeautiful Lake to swim. There is plenty of space and it is actually really quiet, except some big RV's who let their generator run the whole night
Report Check-InReally nice at the lake! perfect for having a bonfire and even for staying a couple of nights.
Report Check-InPerfect spot for setting up the camp in the middle of nowhere. Nobody around and lots of firewood just on the shore of the lake. The turnoff is just before the bridge. Go see the bridge also. Beautiful views to the river below.
Report Check-InVery pretty spot on the shore of the lake. Big rig to tent friendly as it looks like it is an abandoned mill site (only the foundations left). Creek next to the site for easy water, though do boil water during the spring run off to be safe. Great views of Canoe Mountain.
