Sweet overnight spot for car camping that’s not too far from the highway. We swung by here because all the previous reviews were positive and I’m glad we did. Site 8 was high and dry even after a major rainstorm., and more private than some of the other sites.

Free camping, boat launch, grills, porta johns, picnic tables, covered ramadas. Free but reservations must be made at nwfwater. Com. see photo.

Heads up folks. After after my last post, I had an encounter with a federal officer on the last day. He was extremely friendly and helpful. he visited to verify that all campers at all campsites had a reservation.

I reserved online the same day of camping-simple process. stayed at campsite 1 for 4 nights (tues- fri). campsite1 is close to the bank of the river (Nice little fishing spot if you do not have a boat. Great spot to plop in the kayak too.) personally I would recommend sites 1,2,7,8 as they have trees for hammocks and provide a sense of privacy. Thanks Florida for free campsites!

I had reserved to stay here for 2 nights, but when I came in someone was in my spot. There was another spot available so I pulled into there. I came on a Saturday night and there were a lot of men hanging around utilizing the boat ramp. I decided to find somewhere else to stay because I did not feel comfortable staying there as a solo woman traveler, but if I wasn’t alone it would’ve been ok! The camp sites are extremely close together and there is pretty much no privacy.

Reserved two nights, solid place to camp. Reserve at www.nwfwater.com, Mystic Springs CG. Keep in mind if you’re camping around their other campgrounds, you can only have two open reservations at one time and you can’t reserve consecutive days, must have days in between. I learned that as I was going through the reservation process.

Nice free campsite. It has a fire ring, picnic table, covered area at each campsite which would be handy in the rain. Register for free camping at the mentioned website. Campsite 1 and 2 are next to each other but far apart. Camp sites 1 and 2 are more secluded. A little trashy, but cleaner after we left. Right next to the river which was so lovely for a.m. coffee and watching for gators.

As described, very spacious campsites. 3 bars tmobile 4g LTE, and good straight talk LTE. We arrived right before a storm, campsites 4 and 5 seemed to be the only ones that didn't have a huge puddle appear. No real trails for hiking, but little paths to the spring where people fished and a service road on the other side of the spring. There is a trailof you go south, back towards the road, by campsite 8; but it only leads to the service road

very nice Water Management campground. Book on line for free.

Nice free spot with reservation. Stayed here a couple of nights without incident. Porta Potty and trash on site. 3 Bars of verizon 4g service.

Spot 6 was great but I would recommend 3-5. They are kinda out in the open. Overall it worked out since it was free but the trash cans are overflowing and so was the portapotty. Some trash around the site. We also had a visitor come possibly on something asking to set up in our spot so we kindly asked them to leave for the night. But after a little while they came back. Thankfully by the morning they were gone but overall it was a weird and kinda scay interaction. Not terrible but not great either.

Reserved online for free for one night. We were alone until some fishermen showed up around 8 but they didn't bother us. Fire rings and picnic tables in the site (we stayed at site 5) and a porta potty. Doubt anyone would bug you if you didn't reserve online, seems to be more for the high season/ for data tracking. Would definitely stay again. Smells like a swampy river a bit.

nice, quite, safe.
no one here except some boatmen.
just not a lot options to walk with a dog ;)

Great place for free! Porta potty as restroom. Fire ring, picnic table, and grill for each campsite. Trash cans available. It is also a boat ramp, which did get busy during the day. We stayed at campsite 5. It was perfect for our 38’ skoolie with car dolly. We didn’t have to worry about unhooking the dolly and backing in. Plenty of room. The road to the place is paved.
