Got a knock from police in the morning - camping is not permitted here. Also a very busy spot for people enjoying the beach so felt in the way by parking there. Policeman suggested across the river - there were other campers there so will go there tonight.

Great space to park for the night. Felt safe. Friendly people around. Had parking spot closest to the sea. Amazing views. Oasis restaurant is a good place to eat and a short walk away.

Nous avons lu les commentaires mais nous pensions que ce serait correct; pas si mal. Vraiment, essayez un autre endroit :)

Loreto is a lovely town to visit, try El Grill nearby, cheap and very tasty! a little bit noisy spot at night but centrally located and felt safe and right on the beach, good cell signal

Hung around here and parked for a night in my 23’ Van/RV. Definitely not the quietest but as a solo woman I felt safe to park at night.

Bathroom access is a little far. Closest gas station is approx 15 min walk away. Lots of people will stop and ask you about your rig if you decide to hang here in your vehicle for the day.

At the South end of the Malecon at the Oasis hotel. Very small lot of 5 or so small parking places suitable for small vans. At the North end there's parking lengthwise along the curb. I stayed a night in my large truck camper. Safe area well lit right on the beach. at 1:30 a.m. police stopped and walked around the rig and departed. They seem pretty open to campers. Guy behind me parked his cycle and pitched tent under palapa. First photo is at Oasis Hotel. Other is at parking area at North End.

We stayed here in our van Sunday-Monday together with another van. Pro of our spot (further on the right) was that it stayed in the shade of the palm tree for most of the morning. Best spot is the far left spot for the ocean views. It was convenient and safe and awesome for the sunrise in the morning (take a stroll over the adjacent beach!), but I wouldn’t say it’s a great spot, because it’s very loud. Even over Sunday night people still randomly drive by with party music etc. With ear plugs we were fine. If looking for something quiet, this is not your spot.

Backed into the spot closest to the beach with our Sprinter and had a view of the bay and islands for 2 days. It’s just like the other reviews say - safe, free, no hassle but loud with cars cruising the malecon and playing their music. However, we were here on Friday and Saturday nights, so maybe it’s quieter other nights. We felt safe as it is right in the open and a lot of people use the malecon. Other overlanders came but none stayed overnight. We are not sure why as it is a great place.

This spot was recommended by some of the local vanlifers as a safe, free spot. A little loud from people cruising the beach road. Can’t beat the waterfront view in the morning!

Little parking lot at the end of the street. Oasis hotel wifi has now a code.

We stayed here for a few days while visiting loreto. Very walkable and very minimal noise for a city. Also you can pick up the wifi from the hotel and it works great!

Very good place to overnight. Can be a bit noisy early evening but gets quite later on. No toilets but there are a few 24 gas stations not too far away.

We stayed here for three nights. It's a popular place for locals to come, park, play very loud music and party. The first night was OK. They drank and partied until about 11 pm - which was fine because we enjoyed the music. The second night (a Monday night), they started at 10 pm and went till 2 am. And when I say *loud*, I mean right next to you blasting music from a car stereo with a bunch of people drinking and talking loudly. It was a pretty miserable night.

The third night was fine.

The spot itself is great. The Wi-Fi is accessible from the hotel at about 13-16 Mbps down. Upload is substantially slower at 1-3 Mbps.

If it wasn't for the partying, it would have been perfect. Right on the beach and a short walk to the historic district with decent restaurants and bars.

Even though the second night was awful, I think we'd stay here again. You honestly can't beat the location.

Plenty of quiet spots in lovely Loreto! I stayed a couple blocks away for a guaranteed good sleep but this is a solid place. It’s around the corner from Blackbird, which had live music during a yummy breakfast.

Great spot for overnight. It was very quiet on Thursday night. We were the only one parked there from around 10 PM-5 AM. Of course you hear locals. They live here....

Generally a peaceful spot on a Monday night EXCEPT between 12:00-01:00 hrs a gang of kids sat around with loud MARIACHI music outside. What is wrong with teenagers these days??? No rock, no pop, no heavy metal, no disco... just Mariachi music!!! 🤯

Big noise, music forte
Effectivement les voitures tournent au bout du malecon musique à fond + le restaurant de l'hôtel qui joue à fond les décibels, j'ai changé de place rapidement 200m plus loin sur la digue

We stayed for free for one night. Used the bathrooms from the hotel next door with no problem. Noisy most of the night as it is a highly trafficked tourist area and board walk. Beautiful scenery though and other overlanders in the same spot.

Very good spot in full city at the end of Malecon, on the Beach. A little noisy early evening but very quiet after 22 hours. safe and free.

Report Check-In

Safe place indeed, however not good for sleep. Cars are driving around until early morning playing loud music, sometimes honking horns to greet friends, occasionally parking to enjoy more music, police in convoy with everybody else flashing the lights and not only on weekends.
