Great spot. Not busy at all this time of year. Must do the backcountry boat tour and see crocodiles.
Report Check-InBig camping area with spacious sites though some are very open with no shade. Solar hot showers, good facilities. Lots of mossies too! Great place for bird watching, manatees and crocodile in marina. Good free wifi at marina and visitors centre. New restaurant at Lodge area but didn't visit.

The National Park can be entered 24 hours a day. After hours a sigh in the entrance booth window asks that you pay your fee online. You can also enter the campground after hours if you have a reservation. Call 855-708-2287 to make a reservation. That can make same day reservations if the campground entrance office is open 7am to 7pm. Expect to pay between $50 and $60 a night depending on your discounts , seniors veterans etc…for electrical hookup sites. Each pedestal has a 50 and 30 amp
outlet and a household 15 amp outlet as well.
The campground is large and spacious with some shade trees. There are fire rings picnic tables and scattered trash dumpsters. Showers are clean with basins and mirrors but cold water only. Most of the year that doesn’t matter. You could bring your own solar shower with hot water so spacious are the shower booths.
Mosquitoes are present but no see ‘ums ( biting gnats) are more irritating.
A useful practical base from which to explore the park.
Large campground with large sites, quiet at night, close to visitors center and marina where we saw a crocodile and some manatees. Would stay again.
Report Check-InWe enjoyed the quiet campground. The showers were cool but the bathroom we used was clean. Bugs were numerous, The marina is about 1mile and made for an adventure. No beach but lots to see and do.
Report Check-InVery quiet and beautiful. Saw a wonderful sunset. Lots of people were here to observe Saturn and Jupiter during the Great Conjunction. looking forward to seeing the sunrise tomorrow.
Report Check-InNice spot with some shaded sites. Paid $25 without power or water, however there are more sites with power and water. Lots of nice walks around and easy to get to the ranger talks at the visitor centre
Report Check-InNot a bad campground.we stayed two nights. Bugs were low this time of the year. Was a busy campground but very quiet.
Report Check-InStayed in a tent near the bay. 25$ a night, plenty of birds ans mosquitos ! Not really intimate at night because you can ear your neighbors quite well.
Be nice to the nesting birds and look at them FROM AFAR. Mom osprey was so stressed out by all the "photographs".
Report Check-Inwe stayed 5 days during christmas in a-loop without electricity. 25 $/Night. the whole flamingo area needs a renovation. sanitary quiet old, hot showers only with solar. all hiking trails not passable. marina is good for watching manatees, crocodiles and alligators. we recommend the ranger guided kayak tour- needs early reservation!
noseeums eat you alive when there's no wind! so bring bug spray!
The $25 non-powered sites (A Lot ) were safe, quiet and quite empty when we were there, but the female restrooms were filthy, there were piles of hair in the showers, the drains were clogged and the second day I even found blood drops on the shower floor. It looked like they haven't clean the showers for weeks, disgusting! Lots of mosquitoes at night. Watch out for wildlife on roads.
Report Check-In$20 no services/tent & $30 power sites.
The showers were hot. Mosquitos and flies are extremely bad! Bring repellent!!
Correction to previous post - in the trailer loop the showers are not hot, perhaps in off season they don’t provide hot water.
Report Check-InVery few trees, electric only(no water) fee per night $30. Tent or no electric is $20 per. Water located near restrooms. Plenty of sites as walk-in. Hot showers & flush toilets. Verizon no service.
Report Check-InWe enjoyed this campground on the non electric RV side. Definitely glad we requested a spot at the end of the rows. So much more land next to your site on the ends. Each site had their own picnic table and fire ring. If I were to do it again, I would definitely go further away from the bathrooms because the electric and non electric sides are all in one. The lights from them, were a little bright at times in the night for us. Invest in a Thermacel for mosquitoes... It worked SO well! Surprisingly we only saw one raccoon and you can see sunrises and sunsets. Short walk to the tent area on the water for beautiful views.
Showers were fine and bathrooms cleaned daily. They have a dumpster and outside sink at the bathroom. The bathroom on the electric side has water that you can drink and fill up your tanks. A short drive up the road, they do have a store with ice, fire wood, basic hygiene/ medications, etc but the prices are definitely inflated.
Report Check-InNice big camping with very large spots. Very quiet. Restrooms are not well maintained. We were there on a rainy day but still the showers were warm (not hot). We paid $20 for 2 people in a small rv.
Report Check-InHello
Great place to visit the Everglades.
Cool camping place to ride bicycle and make kayak with children.
The price is 20$ for our motorhome and five persons.
Quiet night...
Hot shower and dump station
Croods approved
Nice place. It is still under renovation. The most showers are with Solar. Some shower have cold water only.
Not all Sites with electricity
stayed here for one night. it's a big campground with over 200 places, the T-circle has Powered sites. there could be more sites, but the B and C circle was closed- looks like forever...
the showers are solaroperating, so make sure, that you take your shower at daytime or early evening. at my time the check in was operating from 9am to 5pm. after that you can make a self check in.
quiet at night, because generators are prohibited from 8pm to 8am :-)
Nice campground. Clean restrooms and showers, flat ground to park, tables, fire/bbq pit, dishwashing station, $20 for small cars or tents. First come first served. There’re a few short trails near the campground. LOTS blood thirsty mosquitoes 🦟🦟🦟
Report Check-In$30 for site with power. little to no shade. but at this time of year the park is almost empty. manatees and crocodiles at the marina 10 minute walk from here. restrooms are dated but clean. no store or gas (all closed due to Irma) so come prepared. it's a birders paradise. bugs are big and bad in the Everglades :)
Report Check-InQuiet campground for tents and RV.
