Around this area it's not allowed to overnight in a circle of one mile!
you have to drive 1.5 miles south to stay legal. but we selpt along the fence in front at the road. no one bothered us.
Report Check-InApparently they clean tubs on Tuesdays in season per a worker fixing the pit toilets. HOT water in tubs & shower ✔️
Report Check-InVery, very pleasant. Soaked for 3 hours. Spent time in the stock tank, under the "shower," and took a dip in the large pool.
Unable to find short-term free parking. Gave up and headed East to the rest stop.
Report Check-InHandy next to highway stop. The hot springs are the reason we came this way. Pools are hot but bottom is a bit green as we are told the folks who used to clean em went home.
Report Check-InStopped by this special spot for a quick dip. The beautiful palms have returned. There were some older gentlemen there that filled us in on the rules, etc. Nice place to visit. water was hot, about 105 f and the bottom was slippery with algae. No pets allowed. Pit toilets, trash cans, and the spring can be used as a shower if you rotate the contraption above it and turn on the knob.
Report Check-InNice hot spring to bath rooms easy access. The hot spring is cased in cement and kept clean.
Report Check-InThis place is bomb. Can’t sleep exactly there but worth the stop for sure
Report Check-InThe Hot Springs is open, yes there was a burn to the palm trees that surround the Area but the Hot Springs are still functional and open. I had a good soak and the water is as lovely as ever.
Report Check-InPool is open. Except Tuesday morning for cleaning. Nice place for a bath and camping on the other side of the way to the pool. Clean toilets
Report Check-InParking lot is still barricaded, and locals said cars parked in front of the hot springs may get tickets. Bathrooms are unlocked and gates are open to the hot springs. Looks like the palm trees are still alive. People still soaking.
Report Check-InThe Hot Spring is closed and locked up at the moment. No signs to say if it is from Covid or permanently closed. Camping appears to be open for the season.
Report Check-InPulled in late. Parking lot had No Camping/Overnight signs, so we parked along the fence and left early.
Report Check-InWe stopped in this area (just east of the canal, east of the hot springs) at about 10:00 PM for some sleep. Even though the interstate was close by it wasn't too loud, even with our windows open. Nice and dark (no street lights) and we were able to get some good sleep.
Report Check-In« No camping or overnight parking » signs everywhere. Very busy hotsprings. The water was too hot for me. You can stay at the free BLM nearby.
Report Check-InTwo things here :
1- A free hotsprings where you can soak in hot water and take a hot shower (without soap, no soap is allowed). Dry Toilet.
AND
2- A BLM with campground area. A recreation permit is required from September 15th - April 15th, which you can purchase at the Hot Spring South Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA). A long term LTVA permit is $180 for the entire season. A short visit LTVA permit is $40 for 14 consecutive days from date of purchase. Camping is allowed during the off-season between April 16th - September 14th at no cost, but the standard 14-day limit for dispersed camping on BLM land applies.
We only visited the hot springs and really enjoyed it! Very relaxing despite the nearby highway noise (Interstate 8 is a few feet away).
Report Check-InFee is 40 us$ for two weeks.
No dump, no potable water. Dump possible in Holtville.
