Police override the area and shut down guests coming in

***BE CAREFUL***

Weird place where you won't feel safe. As described below, we had the same experience. A police officer arrives late at night, questions us, takes our papers for verification and asks us to leave before 6:00 am, which we did. Did he tell us that it was a private place.

Quite a weird situation. What justifies these police operations at night? Maybe a not very "clear/clean" place...

My advice, move on!

Report Check-In

Place as advertised. Pulled in after dark. There was a car that tore out when I pulled in, but otherwise quiet. More than big enough for my 35’ Class A and TOAD pickup.

Report Check-In

Pulled in around 9. Just a few minutes later, a cop rolls in asking too many questions about why I’d stop here on the way towards Charleston and how old my 33 year old friend traveling with me is. Basically tells me to leave and go to Charleston as it’s only “45 minutes away” when it’s nearly 2 hours. I'm leaving to avoid issues with this person tonight. Feeling more unsafe than if drug addicts were in this lot.

Report Check-In

Nice paved parking lots next to the Savannah River. Quite a few visitors, but no one was disruptive - most hung out in the lot to the right of the Marine Squadron Rescue building. Several trash cans on-site. Some light road noise. Space to walk dogs, but be careful of hunters in nearby woods. 1-2 bars Verizon (LTE). AT&T 1-2 bars (5G).

Report Check-In

Great place to swim the dogs and sleep safely overnight. Area was patrolled by sheriffs with no issues. No prohibitions against overnight parking posted. Few cars occasionally visit or launch boats. Some biting ants so be prepared to bite back. No facilities but trash cans are available. TREVELN

Report Check-In

Beautiful place. Many fisherman using the ramp for their boats and shooting range nearby but very quiet at night. Perfect place for a bbq. No facilities.

Accurate descriptions
Stayed one night wasn’t bothered

Report Check-In

accurate descriptions previously posted. Contrary to others we parked our truck camper in the right-hand lot upper right-hand corner next to the dilapidated Pavilion. only a few locals no police before departure key holder to water rescue building was there but didn't come talk to us. felt safe and quiet we would stay there again.

Report Check-In

Few fishermen and cars when we pulled up. We used the right lot because there were less people, there is only no parking right next to the building. A few cars were slingin mud as it got later but left soon, if you were to follow the bridge in the left lot I bet you could set up a tent with no issues. Anyway super cool spot. 110v electricity by the gazebo and non potable water outside of the building as well as the river.

Report Check-In

Quiet night. Empty lot in evening except for us in E250. Woke up at 7:30 to the sound of fisherman pulling up, but then slept for a few more hours.

No bathroom or water

Report Check-In

As described, ok for one night.
Police came by in the evening, asked what we‘re doing here. Didn’t send us away, asked us just how long we are going to stay. Seemed a bit concerned about our safety, said he will be passing by the whole night.
We felt safe, no other issues.

Report Check-In

Got here at 3am and only stayed for 6 hours due to pouring rain. I parked on the Marina side, both lots were nearly empty.

Report Check-In

There is a tap with water at the rescue house .

Report Check-In

two big parking lots. I think, that the right parking lot is only reserved for the marina rescue, so I stayed at the left one. there are no facilities. stayed for one night from Saturday to Sunday. at the Saturday evening it wasn't to bad, maybe around ten boat trailer and some people. on Sunday morning at 6:30am it's getting really busy, they also parked at the grassy area between the parking lots. but anyway, I had a quiet night, and nobody borderd me. maybe the best option here around Savannah. I tried it before at 3 Walmarts, and they send me all away- so I stayed here, and I was lucky about it....

Report Check-In

FYI deputy stopped by at about 230am. Said this parking lot is occasionally used for drugs and prostitution.

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night. It was absolutely gorgeous. Planned to stay another night and the police came to politely tell us we can’t stay overnight here. Very nice, but you are not allowed to stay here overnight.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay for a night- wake up to the Savannah river! It had rained to a couple trucks we’re doing circles in the field next to us but we weren’t bothered

Report Check-In

Big parking lot at Mills Landing Boat Ramp at the Savannah River. Quiet because the road gets dirty just after Mills Landing.
