The first and (according to the ranger) most important information we received at the information centre was, that overnight stays on Peninsula Valdes are only allowed in Puerto Piramides. All other sites are against the rules.
Report Check-InWe visited this place from 8-11. Nov 2018. Although the road was signed "closed" we could sneek in. Further down the road was covered with sanddunes up to 1m, ok for 4WD and reduced pressure. There is a small side-track beside the sanddunes. Really fantastic places at Las Pardelas with lots of whales near the shore. In the evening the owner Alejandro came. He explained his project to keep this place open, but he has some problems with locals with quads. He has no problems with Overlanders. On 11.11.2018 he closed the only access road with a new gate and a new fence. If you want to visit this place, please contact Alejandro Ferro (speaks spanish and english) on +54 911 5161 9078 Estancia Ferrao SA in advance. And keep the place tidy!
Report Check-Inroad is closed, we may have gone to see why!! shifting sand dunes across the track after a few km. possibly passable with 4WD but we decided not in the dark when we're not supposed to be here in the first place!
Report Check-InLoved this place! Truely beautiful view. Followed OTA's advice and shared this spot with one other overlanders. Spots for two or three rigs. Very little wine protection, we woke up the next day to very high winds that blew sea spray over the cliff face. Be careful of mud, 4WD recommended but not necessary.
Report Check-InOne truly stunning place. We drove past the iOverlander spot around the bend to the left where we were slightly more protected from the wind. Beautiful views and unbelievable clear skies! We had the place all to ourselves. Penguins can to visit in the morning too.
Report Check-InGreat place. Yes lots of wind and no whales in January. Only 1 other camper
Report Check-InSpectacular, we watched the whales while having breakfast. From sunset to sunrise no wind at all. You are totally remote and get excellent mobile internet from Puerto Pirámides
Report Check-InAs everyone else said, great place to stay. Do be careful near the edge of the cliffs! We found great wind protection off to the left. No one else around when we were there.
Report Check-InWe turned left around the corner on a very windy day. It really helped.
Report Check-InAwesom view, quite and bit windy but we were lucky not that much. We stayed a couple days noone around. Go behind the corner less windy.
Report Check-InCamped another 300m around the corner, and out of the wind, on top of the rock shelf . Had a great view of whales and a seal.
Report Check-InWe arrived at this place late at night as we had to leave Punta Norte. Was quite windy but no one around. Some people arrived in the morning, though.
Report Check-Incamped just round the corner from here, a little more sheltered that night from the wind. flat rock to park on everywhere. within 30 min we spotted 4 whales and 2 sealions plus countless sea birds. 2 of the whales came so close to the shore and hung around for 20 min or so. great place to camp. also quiet and perfect sunset.
Report Check-Ingreat views, we swam and the penguins came really close to us in the water. We found a fairly sheltered spot for our tent a bit further round the headland to the left from the spot here. it seemed a bit more tent friendly than the other wild camp where there's no shelter
Report Check-InGreat spot at the cliffs. Just a few people there. Very quiet in the night but with stronger winds it can be dusty. It is leagal to camp here. We asked at the visitor center and they recommended this spot.
Report Check-InAmazing views, peaceful and remote. We camped here with another overlander couple we met and the views were stunning and we watched penguins chase fish in the crystal clear water in the mornings. We loved this place!
