Description

Incredible place to see lots of high quality fascinating bushmen paintings, as well as a beautiful landscape. Entrance to the site is 50 pula per person, but be aware that this will only allow you to visit the museum. Viewing the paintings is only possible with a guide, which will be further cost. The shortest walk (approx. 2.5hrs) costs 120 pula in total. Well worth every penny though. Our guide was fantastic and the tour far exceeded our expectations.

We updated all the prices and maps in pictures (entrance fee + guided walking trails). Bring cash and small coins because they dont have change ;-)
As internationals, we paid 50 pulas per people to enter at the gate. After that, we drove 5 kilometers to arrive to the museum and to the guides to walk. Small but interesting museum. We paid 120 pulas for the group to walk rhino trail (the other trails are 175 pulas, not per people but for the group).
Guide is compulsory, you can not walk alone anymore since cases of vandalism appeared :-(
Very friendly and intersting guide. Very easy and beautiful trail, we loved it: 2 hours with upstairs and one steep ascent (so may be difficult for young kids or old people) but after that plain and descent.
You can not camp anymore for free at the museum. You have to go to the new campsite at 130 pulas per people. But you can take for free a shower and go to the toilets at the museum if you do wild camp as us ;-)
Road to arrive is ok: 40 minutes from the main road. Worth it !!!

We visited and did a guided walk of Rhino trail, P50pp entry + P125 for guided hike - you have to walk with a guide now. Beautiful rock paintings and scenery, the Male is the highest point in Bots! The road is pretty terrible to get there, but worth coming if you are passing by to Mohembo boarder post.

Incredible place with so much history. You can only visit the park with a local guide. Mine was extremely knowledgeable.
Campground is like a bush camp, but there's a well with nice drinking water and clean toilets/shower. There's even toilet paper.

The road there is pretty good. A few sandy patches and some sections rutty from the past rain. I was on a motorcycle and it was easy.

Just one little kiosk/store in the village with very little stuff to buy, so bring everything.

the rock paintings are outstanding. If you are up for climbing around I the rocks, the guide can show you some pretty cool things. I did the Rhino trail plus some additional climbing around. It was a very special experience.

If you are passing stop! Go and have a look around the shortest trail takes about 2-3 hours depending how often you stop, ask questions and take pictures. The drawing are everywhere, well preserved and frankly awe inspiring, to think of the history of this site - incredible!
