This is a fantastic place to stay. Plenty to do, lots of space, great facilities and a quiet camping area. Nice hot and clean showers. There are several nice grassy areas where you can park if you sleep in your car. Good internet. Free coffee. $18k per person.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
As described, very relaxed and nice communal area. Showers perrrrfect! Hot and good pressure. Mosquitoes in grass a bit annoying though.
Short walk to town. 30.000 pp/pn
At first I didn’t want to be so far out of town. But in the end, I’m glad we spent our 3 nights of Villa here. I wasn’t ready to leave. We walked into town twice and it really isn’t far (15 minutes downhill to get there). Renacer will also call a taxi for 10,000 COP each way. Okay, about Renacer itself. Parking is on a grassy lawn, where you can back in for privacy. There is room for two rigs (so recommend you reserve ahead). Possibly the nicest campground showers yet, with really hot water and immaculately clean. Nice seating areas in the sun or shade, with beautiful views of the hills in the distance. Hammocks to rest in. Equipped kitchen for cooking and doing dishes. Inside “living room” with TV (World Cup viewing!). Lots of WiFi connections depending on where you are on the property. Restaurant open for breakfast and dinner (not lunch). 10,000 COP pancake breakfast with orange juice. Several options for dinner. I had the bolognese pasta which was comforting on a cold night. We paid 60,000 COP (30,000/adult) for camping. We weren’t charged for Caspian. We met so many kind travelers here from all over the world. Only downside was biting insects in the grass from mid-morning until it cools down in the evening (locals call them moscos, but they aren’t traditional mosquitoes). They swarm and will bite all over your legs and feet, so I wore pants and socks at all times once I figured out how bad they were. Would return here for sure!
Report Check-InReally nice spot to camp. A little pricey: 28 000 per person, but all the facilities and the staff is great. Nice kitchen, hot shower and clean bathroom. 20 min walk from the center.
Report Check-InAs described. Charming and well organized spaces. Indoor&outdoor. Hot shower is excellent. We found it to be too expensive @ 28,000COP pp for a family of six… no discount or family rate so shortened our stay.
Report Check-InNice spot with hot showers, wifi was ok, not always super fast. The vibe is amazing, nice music and the guy at the reception was kind. Kitchen with 8 pits to cook. Big rig friendly. We paid 30k pppn.
Report Check-InPrice is now 28k per person. But this place is wonderful. Our favorite “hostel camping” experience so far. Best hot water showers (so far) since we left the USA. Although don’t use the showers next to the communal area, use the one closer to the reception.
Strong WiFi, clean kitchen area, great group of people. Highly recommend.
Very chill place. Highly recommendable.
To be clear:
18.000 pp for a campervan.
20.000 pp for camping in a tent.
nice place, great green areas, 18k per person, includes electricity, toilets, hot shower, kitchen, restaurant, the staff is very friendly
200% recommended
Excellent place, small but cozy and warm. Camping, caravan or room rental, bathrooms with hot shower, restaurant service. u$ 6 a night per person.
Report Check-InVery nice place. Very confortable for a roof top tent. The comunal area is perfect and has great wifi. The restaurant is really good and Fernando who runs it is an excelente person. Full kitchen for cooking and they also have a fridge for the campers.
Report Check-InLoved it! Stayed 4 nights instead of the planned one. Good kitchen, clean bathrooms with hot showers, good wifi and very nice personal! The gardens and common areas are beautifully setup and the rooms look beautiful, too. Still 18.000 ppn, but if you stay 4 nights the breakfast is included at the last morning.
Report Check-InAs everybody has written already: this is the place to stay in beautiful Villa de Leyva. We are in a campervan VW T5 and could camp on the grassy spot right next to the building. The WiFi reached our van. Nice and well maintained hostel.
Report Check-InGood location walking distance to town (though lots of semi-aggressive dogs on the way down the hill!). Warm shower and clean bathroom, parking lot is flat. The town itself is lovely so being so close is definitely the best part. WiFi didn’t really work in the parking lot. 18,000 pesos/person for car camping
Report Check-InNice garden and all facilities available and very clean. Paid 18 kCOP pppn for staying at this LOVELY PLACE.
Report Check-Inas other comments, 18,000 cop for tent camping in the garden. lovely place, lovely people, good facilities, walking distance from town, quiet. Stayed five nights there, highly recommended
Report Check-InGreat place for Overlanders, saw 3 others whilst here! Still 18k pppn, super relaxed vibe really nice views and a cool nights sleep. 10 Min walk to town and lovely hot showers.
Report Check-InHighly recommended! Very well run. Clean bathrooms, hot showers, peaceful at night, nice garden areas to walk through; reliable wifi; quiet hotel & small onsite restaurant serves a good breakfast & dinner. Elwin, Fernando. and the rest of the staff were most welcoming and worked hard to see that all campers and hotel guests enjoyed their stays. To address earlier comment regarding music: restaurant plays low-volume, Bossanova and soft jazz through outdoor speakers between 6:00 - 9:30pm. we stayed at another campground in town; but Renecer is, by far, our favorite. Price: 18,000/adult, includes electricity.
Report Check-InWonderful place as per earlier comments. The best. Loved the clean washrooms. Edwin hooked us up with electricity and we filled with water. Our 19ft camper truck with 3.5m clearance was fine but anything longer might struggle. Stayed 3 days at 18K ppn.
Leveled campground across from the living room and the bathrooms, nice hot showers, clean kitchen, electricity available. Great staff, good WiFi, dog friendly and town is lovely. We enjoyed this place
Report Check-InSuch a lovely place - so relaxing and so many facilities to use.
Very clean bathrooms. Very hot shower. You can use the kitchen. You can use a barbecue. You have lots of space in the common areas, hammocks, etc. Staff is incredible friendly. You can even get breakfast or have dinner there as they also have a restaurant. Also tours or horseriding available. Short walk into town. Highly recommended!
Planned one stayed three nights.
This is a great place as has been mentioned......no issues with music at all as previously mentioned. Cost was 18000pp but we were happy to pay thd higher than normal cost. The place us clean, quiet with plenty of space for camping or campers. There are plenty if areas to relax and the kitchen is on if the best we have cone across. One note, the sign on the main road is hard to see, basically the entrance is up a short, crappy dirt road...about 100mtrs so dont let the look of the entrance put you off....it was one of our best places to stay
Report Check-InGreat place with friendly staff. The showers are very nice and hot, Internet was fast, but does not work from the parking area. #overlanderproblems Music was not blasting as another commenter said.
Report Check-InPrice still 18,000 per person with a free breakfast after the 4th night. Hot showers, clean bathrooms, pretty grounds. Unfortunately, the hostel has speakers on the outside of the building near the camping area so we listened to music from about 8am to 9pm every day, not a big deal but not a plus either. If you prefer a hostel style facility this one is nice, we prefer Mi Refugio because it is closer in town and quieter, but couldn’t stay there this time because of road construction.
Report Check-InStayed here four nights with our small van. Perfect spot to relax and explore the surrounding of Villa de Leyva. Town is in walking distance and has nice bars and Restaurants. If you stay four nights (or longer) you get a free breakfast (americano). Tea/Coffee is free the whole day. Easy to find a leveled spot close to electricity. Recommended stay.
Report Check-InWe camped in the gravel parking field. It’s not easy to find a leveled spot but ok. Infrastructure is nice and all clean. Nice areas to hang out. WIFI is poor and unstable. The staff is friendly and helpful. They gave us lot of information about Villa de Leyva and the surroundings. They also organize tours and help you to organize your trips by yourself. We payed 18000 pesos per people per night.
Report Check-InDitto. Nice place, price now 18k pp. Laundry is 4k per kg. There is a grassy space up by reception that had two vehicles and could fit tents and they let us stay in parking area near cabanas; at first there was another overlander rig but they left after our first night. Not that level but not extreme. Able to plug into cabanas. We are 26' long and turning around inside the lot was a bit of a challenge. Super nice bathrooms/showers. There are a few mean dogs on in the alley when you walk down to go into town.
Report Check-InAll good here still. Very clean and relaxing. Price to camp still 16,000COP p.p
Report Check-InLike everyone else says. Great place to stay 10 min walk from town. We camped for 16 per person. Nicest hot shower we'd had in a while. Nice quiet lounge area with good wi-fi. Dorm rooms, cabanas, breakfast, laundry and bike rentals also available. Great friendly staff.
Report Check-InEcho the descriptions of others. Great place. Quiet at night. Cool temperatures. Great facilities. Fire, couch and movies available. Social vibe but not busy. Free tea and coffee in the morning. Good internet. Lovely staff. Yum breakfast on the menu too.
Report Check-InIts a absolut nice place with good information and very clean. Nice trail startet from the hostel. Its 10 min. work to City.
Report Check-InEchoing everyone else when I say this is a beautiful spot! There weren't many people there when we stayed so it was extra tranquil. Seems like there are only 2 spots for cars up near the reception but, if it's full, they may let you stay in the parking area. 16k per person with wifi, bathrooms, hot showers, and electricity. (If you're looking to get some exercise I highly recommend renting a bike from them and going to all the little tourist attractions in the area - especially the fossil museum and the winery).
Report Check-InJoli emplacement a 15 mn à pieds du centre ville super tranquille 16000col/p
Report Check-InEverything is true, except the Internet. It is not average but fast. So I correct it.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay! Highly recomanded! Clean, friendly, nice common places and fine kitchen for common use. Paid 16.000pesos/person, sleeping in our landcruiser..
Report Check-InNice place, clean bathrooms, hot shower, american breakfast for 7000 COP, 10 minutes walk to Villa de Leyva, a good place to relax
Report Check-InGreat place. Good breakfast for 7k each and decent dinners. You can order pizza for delivery. We biked to a winery and the Dino museum with a map we bought from Ciclotours. Great place to stay. Nice hanging out area. Can be a little noisy if you park close to reception but we only had an issue one out of our 4 nights. Paid 16k person with electric.
Report Check-InOur 24 foot American RV just fitted through the gate and had enough space to turn round, but much bigger wouldn't fit.
Lovely place - previous comments say it all.
One of the best places we have camped so far. They have it all, even movies to check out.
Report Check-InBeen there 2 nights after hiking the laguna de iguaque.
We loved the hot showers!! Really nice place.
15k per person for camping.
If you need electricity they can give you a spot right next to the reception and plug you.
Beautiful! Great place to stay, very friendly staff and good coffee included.
Report Check-InAwesome place with the cleanest bathrooms I've seen in a long time. Great hot showers. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have everything you need here. 15,000 cop per person
Report Check-Invery nice place! we stayed four days with our RV. there is no space for long RV's. very friendly people and they are very helpful.
Report Check-InGreat location. There are three bathrooms and the one with best hot water is next to the dorm room. Don't set up your tent on the pad next to kitchen and hammock area as can get a bit loud. Other areas to choose from. Internet could be irritatingly slow at times.
Report Check-InGreat spot 14000 per person, included electrical hook up. Hot clean showers, well equipped kitchen, super friendly staff. Used the maps provided to make a great 20km round trip walk to many of the local sites. Also for great views of the town ask for a copy of the laminated map and hike up into the hills, directly behind the hostel.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay, specially after some days of wild camping here you'll get all services you might need to recover. The Owner, Oscar is a passionated overlander himself and has plenty of information about road travelling in Colombia. Nice common areas and all services work fine. Definetively recommended.
Report Check-InFriendly staff. Bought a 20L of water for 10k pesos. Laundry service is 5000 pesos per medium load. They air dry so it usually takes a full day or more.
Report Check-InNice place with kitchen and hang out spots. Small grassy camping/parking area. The shower was torture because it was beautifully hot for a minute and then ice cold for five and then hot again for a little.
Report Check-InDont forgt the free coffee every morning. We didnt know this until our last day here. Nice place. Gets a bit crowded sometimes.
Report Check-InGreat spot, easy walk to town all down-hill. Cold beers and fresh air. Very nice staff and they were great to my Dog!
Report Check-InOne of the best places we've stayed so far. Great for overlanders - they let us park right in front on the grass, which offered an excellent view. Easy walk into town. Our dog was welcome too!
Report Check-InBeautiful hostel up in the hills. Price was 14k pesos per person per night.
Report Check-InNice campgroud on a grassy area in front of the main building. 15 Minutes walk to town.
Price:30000 Colombia Peso
Report Check-InWohlfühlplatz , water, toilet and hot water showers. Current could be obtained. Shared kitchen. WiFi. Quiet. Laundry COP 5000.--/Trommel, just wash, no dryer. COP 18,000 ./Night without power
Above the village, about a 15 minute walk to the village.
Report Check-InAKA Colombian Highlands - this is a fantastic place to stay and probably the best hostal we visited to date. Plenty to do, lots of space, great facilities and a quiet camping area. First hot shower we'd had in months and our first experience with an honor-system beer fridge. There are several nice grassy areas where you can park if you sleep in your car.
Report Check-InBeautiful hostel with grassy areas for camping. Clean bathrooms with hot (!) showers. Free WIFI. Common kitchen with refrigerator, book exchange, common area with TV. Belongs to the group Colombian Highlands. Laundry service (5000 COP / machine). Very nice staff. Great view down the valley. Just 10 minutes walk to the center. Bakery with excellent Pan integral at the bottom of the road to the hostel.
Alternative accommodation:
Villa de Leyva, Camping San Jorge, N 73.51862 W 5.64840 26,000 COP / day (~ 11,80 Euros). Located about 1.5 km from the center. Said tohave very nice bathrooms too. Unfortunately, you can only stay in the parking lot with your car.
(Originally 10,000 COP / day / person, but since we wanted to stay longer than three nights and do not need electricity, we were able to negotiate a discount)
Report Check-InCamped in their parking lot. Good water to fill up tanks. Nice and quiet location outside town (15 min walk), good facilities and a kitchen we could use. Nice and clean toilet and hot showers. WIFI.
Price: 16.000 pesos
