Nice scenery, pure boondock with no services. The road says 'no oh, street legal vehicles only'. We were able to get to a turnout in our SUV pulling the teardrop, but I walked the climb to make sure I could make it. You do need reasonable ground clearance and good tires/brakes, but the view is worth it!

Report Check-In

Stayed one night around here - the road where maps takes you to get to this particular spot was closed due to high river levels but there's lots of spots to park before the road, and pit toilets by road entrance.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spots all along the river, reasonable pit toilets, dumpsters. Free! Many people there, but many spots! Good Verizon signal, would stay again.

Report Check-In

Beautiful, peaceful a little noise due to restoration but the sounds of the river drown it out. Will definitely be coming back here!!!!

Beautiful place next to the Kern river. A little noise but the sounds of the river drowned it out. Not too many people. Will definitely be coming back here again !!!!

Yes, the roads are rutted, and you must proceed slowly and with caution. Would not recommend for larger rigs than ours. We're in 25' TT. We have a spot right by the river, it's so beautiful here. We also have great cell signal.

Report Check-In

Nope. Never again. We couldn’t access most sites with our van due to rutted roads. The sites we could access were populated by homeless people. We saw people literally chopping down healthy trees to make a fire. The pit toilets couldn’t be accessed due to piles of trashed stacked in front. So unhappy— not coming back.

very nice place, many spots, just drive around to find yours.

Toilets are a nightmare. one has doors that doesn't even fit, therefore, doesn't close.

The river is beautiful, and the sky is great, and I didn't hear a single noise from the highway, and met really chill locals there.

it gets a bit chilly at night as you're by a river, but slept well in my hammock

Report Check-In

Lots of sites but have to explore to find them all, no map. Avoid the pit toilets if possible, drive to the town 5 mins away. Beautiful river. Peaceful area. Lot of campers on the other side or river. Dumpster on site. Secure trash at night.

Several pull off spots. Lots of tent camping: took a bit of driving to find a place for a van. Pit toilets.

Report Check-In

Beautiful! Scenic and tranquil. A must. Spot right on the water.

We didn't stay at this exact location - we stayed off of the main road across from the access road to this camping. The road down to the camping is rutted in a few places but if you are careful you can get down it - most people were tent coming but we also saw a fifth-wheel and a cargo trailer.

Drive down Keyesville Rd. to about 35.6345349, -118.4926397 to access the site. you will see a wooden bulletin board in a big lot with some pit toilets. One of the pit toilets is about 3 feet from being full! There are more pit toilets at the campsite by the river but we didn't go in.

If you don't want to make the drive down to the river there are many sites right off Keyesville road.

The location was pretty. Watch out for the cows.

We have stayed here a few times now. Love the wild camping but you prolly won't be alone. Read signs carefully for fire restrictions. 3 Bars of 4G Verizon and full bars of MetroPcs/T-Mobile. Only 2 miles from town of Lake Isabella. This is managed by B.L.M.

Report Check-In

Keysville FREE BLM site. Camping spots on both sides of the river. The sites directly at the river are accessed by steep rocky roads, but there are also plenty of easy accessible sites above the river.

A bunch of great spots right by the river...
