Description

At the end of the road nice waterfall. Pretty nice, the are the one of the movie Apocalypto. Get in in the morning at 7.00 and nobody around, by the amount of shops looks like could be pretty busy (guess 1000 person) there is a upper mirador and a lower one,10 pesos entry, there is a balneador you can put your tent down there. No parking or limited near waterfall , you can park near football field and nobody bother you. For us was a good stop for night look in the morning and out by 8.00

i don't know why did I even bother going here. the waterfall is okay, but there are plenty free ones around. guys at the parking lot weren't friendly at all, demanding money for "help", although there were only 2 more cars and I know how to park. 30 pesos on the entrance, another 5 at the bottom. you can't see much from mirador on the top.
didn't like at all, felt relieved as soon as i left

There is in fact a place to park right next to the entrance to the falls - if you follow the track round to the left instead of continuing to the end of the car park, there's a very large grassy area overlooking the river (albeit not really with a view as it's full of trees). I was warned the police would probably come and shunt me back into the main area in front of the comedors, but nobody did and I had a peaceful night. There are baños and regaderas available during working hours just behind the access track.

Note that there is another mirador on the other side of the river, which gives a great view from the top and is far, far quieter and less touristy than this side. Entry is $20 and there's a big car park; I got the impression it would be fine to stay the night, but I didn't try - apparently it's common for people to camp there though. **Advisory note for (especially) solo females - if one of the workers offers to show you the path down through the forest to the river, think twice before accepting. His behaviour was largely why I opted to drive back round to the other side.**

We went at 2pm on a Monday and there were only 5 or 6 other people there. The cost is 15 pesos per person for the upper mirador and 5 pesos a person at the bottom. Free clean bathrooms at the bottom.
