Lovely Kichwa community tourism. After the bridge, turn left, walk about 10min - it’s obvious and signposted. We came unannounced, had a nice explanation with Leo and his companion about their lifestyle, traditions, ethnicity struggles etc. Then we toured the forest around, medicinal or useful plants, river mirador, blowing darts, painting our hands and faces, “waiusa” tea. Handmade artesanías if you are interested. 5$/pp for everything, lasted more than two hours. Basic cabanas if you want to stay overnight. Next year they plan on opening a volunteering program for foreigners.

We spent a day with Leo and it was wonderful ! We stayed overnight at the Balneario Indillamas and walked from there back over the bridge and left to the village.
He took us on a tour to the forest, explained a lot about medicinal plants, took us on a little Canoe tour, let us try blow dart and involved us in small ceremonies. We also had lunch and the kids danced for us. For a whole day we payed 25$ p.p. Since the money is for the community and is used for protecting and regrowing the forest, we didn’t want to negotiate. If you want to try Ayuhuasca or San Pedro, Leo needs a few days for preparation. Very nice jungle experience!
