Description

In the village of Huallajara there are 4-5 small Tiendas, only two of which appear to be still in business. Also potable water for sale, and plenty to filter from taps.

Latest Check-Ins

Cyclists don’t rely on these shops for resupply. 4 of the 5 were closed when we were there (3 of them permanently) and the other one only had crazy expensive cookies/crackers. No pasta, no ramen noodles. Take more food than you think you’ll need.

Report Check-In

Not exactly well-stocked.
Two tiendas, one primarily a licoreria but with dehydrated potato, tomato paste, biscuits, chocolate, oil, margarine, stock powder, instant noodles, toilet paper.
The other is primarily a pub with slightly more supplies (although the owner said stock varies a lot): pasta, milk powder, Oats as well as the above.
No vegetables, bread, cured meats or cheese.

Three other tiendas appeared derelict
and locked from outside with no-one present on various visits across two days.

Multiple taps outside hostels for fitering water.

all the shops were closed (temporarely?) when we were there.

A bit overpriced but we were happy to find Doritos (35bs), Oreos (4bs for a single packet), Pringles, (35) water and beer. The guy running the shop, Luis, is interesting.

In the village of Huallajara there are 4-5 small shops, some of them pretty well stocked for the place. More to find and better prices than the entrance of the park. Also potable water.
