Not the exact location but we stayed in the area 3 nights, moving each day to not draw attention and disturb anyone. Be careful to stay in the few streets that have no restriction in the night (a lot of streets have a midnight to 3am no parking sign). Completely free. A good walk until the metro but bus comes in the street, you have city bikes everywhere and the ferry is not to far as well. Not always very quiet but you are rent free in Brooklyn, a few minutes away from Manhattan, so can’t complain.

Not the exact spot, but drive around and check parking signs. Quiet and safe. Plenty of rental bikes and scooters around and close to the ferry. Get a slice at Mark's Red Hook Pizza.

This place no longer exists. Looks like they are building where lot was and putting up apartments or businesses.

What a great little area! Very close to servers cafes and great views of the Statue of Liberty! Both an Ikea and a grocery store are 2-3 minutes away. Would definitely stay again. Felt very safe

It was a good place, a little bit noisy, but acceptable. The are cámaras outside so we didn’t feel unsafe. We take the bicycle to New York from here. We recommend this place.

Great place to sleep in the van/camper. There are loads of free spots to park around this location. We took some time to scout the best for us: 40.677858, -74.016581 (Coffey Street). Level, very quiet at night, but still some pretty houses around, felt really safe. Ikea is just around the corner for free coffee(with family card)&breakfast. We took the ferry to Manhattan or the subway from Carroll Street.

Slept here fine. No issues. Moved closer to the ferry terminal the next morning and slept there for the second night.

We found a space in the street near this spot, Woolcott st. Good spot

We stayed 2 nights in the region of the Red Hook Terminal. Just make sure that you do not park while they clean the streets. There are signs in every street that indicate the day and the hours. Very quiet and ideal for sightseeing in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Highly recommended to rent bicycles from citi bike and to cross the Brooklyn Bridge.

Really great area! We found a spot on Coffey street near the Somewhere coffee cafe. Bought our coffee there in the morning and used their restroom. Great place. Stayed 4 days, just pay attention to no parking times for street cleaners. Recommend this spot for sure, great walk to the Piers and it is a 2 hour walk to and over the Brooklyn bridge if you are fairly fit. You can also walk 40 minutes to the Court st train station and take the train to Manhattan if you don’t want to take the ferry.

Stayed here two nights. Quiet with foot traffic / dog walkers. Park nearby has nice view of Lady Liberty. You can ride a bike to Manhattan in 20 minutes over the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge. There is a ferry, but I didn't use it.

Quiet night, highly recommended! Leave your car here and take the boat to Manhattan

Brooklyn- near Red Hook ferry terminal. Quiet night. We spent night here and then caught the ferry to Manhattan- $2.75 each per ride. Takes you near Brooklyn bridge. Then Staten Island ferry and meandered around Manhattan for the day. Finished off walking back over Brooklyn bridge (a must!) and ferry from dumbo back to red hook.
